Vindsval watches as his name is struck from those who would serve the sisters. "Well Miderun perhaps it is the path of Vengeance against the seas vermin that I am to take. Time shall tell. Did you see the look upon our small jester's face at the mention of Demons in the night? It would appear a chord has been struck in that one. Do you know much of his story?"
-
I have been so informed. I use italics for action, "quoted color for speech.", and BOLD things when a QM wants a decision.
-
OOC: I did not know that. You see followers of The Wanderer, the one true power of the Norse have great abilities indeed.
-
Vindsval looks at the strange man ranting from the tabletop. "Who is this that refers to Lords as demons?"
-
"It is as you say, legends of this Ennoc do pervade the realm. I have heard tales of him sung in many areas from my travels. I know not how much of it is based in fact. Who can say when the people in the legends do not even have descendants to mourn them." He turns his head to Warlen. "There is a saying among my father's people, one which he was fond of quoting to those who professed themselves unbelievers. "Fear not yea of little faith, simply because you do not believe in the demons of the night, this does not mean that the demons of the night do not believe in you."

Yeah a little bit of cropping issues there. But still nice to see most of them in one place.
-
Did that cut down on interaction? Yeah having to be level 50 would cut down on the number of second characters

What change do you mean?

a bunch of quests have ended recently. Maybe warmer weather is helping folk's typing fingers thaw.

"I have heard the Wanderer compared to your Tarok, they seem alike in many Aspects. The Wanderer is the aspect of the Chief Power Wartan of my mother's people in the Far North to whom those of no holdfast proscribe their allegiance. It is HE who sets the path before a valiant warrior, it is HE who shows the persecuted the road to safety, it is HE who sets the feet of the bold to glory and the sandels of the meek to shame. He is of the Twin Bats and the Bleeding Sword. It is for HE that we cleave the heads from our foes and offer to him their souls for judgement. He is the Wanderer, The Warrior, The Poet, The Sorcerer, and the Chief among ALL of the GODS!!!!" Vindsval's eyes glow with zeal and fervor as he describes his god to Miderun, his enormous fist striking the wall beside him with ever mention of the deity, beating an almost prescribed tattoo on the halls stone. At the end of this recitation he grabs his Cask, slams it to the table and then downs it in a single drought. He raises the empty vessel to the sky and growls in a voice like boulders falling in a storm. "TO THE WANDERER, May he set you all upon a path to glory and valiant deeds!"

After signing up for quests 129, 130, and 131, Vindsval returns to his table and tankard, and his friend Miderun. "A wide variety of ways to see the world. If the wanderer wills it could be quite enlightening to see onto which path I am to travel."
-
"It would seem that there are those who expect all green of skin or red of eye to speak the tongue of your homeland. I confess that my father's clan left Baltarok several generations before my birth, I was born in the North, the land of my giantess mother." Vindsval looks over his shoulder and notices heros clamoring around the quest board. "My pardon, I must see what news there is of the world since we last left." He lays his tankard down upon the table and walks as softly as he can to the quest board. Upon reading the descriptions of the new quests, astonished,, he speaks to himself. "Vindicator, could this truly be the answer? Would the wanderer grant me the power to be his avenging hand, to leave the heads of his enemies at the feet of the week who they would oppress? I must know. If it be his will I will be chosen." His hand begins to glow with a holy light as his SIGNS HIS NAME TO QUEST 130. As the glow fades he reads the other notices, and the names signed thereto. "Perhaps I have not yet reached a level of power where the wanderer will grant me such a boon. Perhaps I must lay more villains at his feet for judgement. This assignment of vanquishing bandits would do nicely to send evil souls to his court" He then signs his name to QUEST 131 as well. "A large cargo vessel might be what is needed to gain a footing for the sea. If it is viking they fear perhaps then I shall be able to bestow some vengeance upon those seabearing fields for the persecution of my denizens of the North Lands." He signs up for Quest 129 "Three quests, One of faith, one of justice, and one of retribution" Will the wanderer choose any of them for me to travel?"

A false front or decorative veneer. Something that pretends to be other than it is.

I remember that now. Thanks Lind.

Hadn't noticed that it was now a magical item. It used to be a whip with RP attributes.

Vindsval returns to Anwyls shop and begins rummaging through his packs, he pulls out several items and examines each in turn, trying to make a decision. "Master Smith, I have some more work for you if you are willing. First I would have you remove the Emerald from this Explorers Dented Helm (SP: 2, headwear; Immune to earth and wood suitable for Rangers, evokers, wardens, and marauders) as well as the Opal and Aquamarine from this Nordic Stomach Guard (SP: 3; immune to Ice and Water; suitable for Barbarians, Regulators, and Beast Warriors; Bodywear)" He hands him the helm and armor and waits. When the Dwarf returns the pieces to him he returns the gems and armor to his pouch and pays the Master Smith for his services. 481-50 -50 -50 = 331 He then moves off to Fabian's shop. He steps up to the man and bows slightly. "It would seem I have the pleasure of doing more business with you Master Fabian, May the Wanderer light your path and lead all that you desire to your door." "I have three articles of clothing of which I am hoping you will be interested. The first is fairly standard, it is but a simple Tricorn Hat. Your standard price of purchase for such an item is 60 gold is it not? The half giant hands the small man the hat in exchange for the 60 coin. 331+60 = 391 "These other two items I hold are not your standard stock." He holds out the Explorers Dented Helm (SP: 2, headwear; suitable for Rangers, evokers, wardens, and marauders) and the Nordic Stomach Guard (SP: 3; suitable for Barbarians, Regulators, and Beast Warriors; Bodywear) "As I am unable to wear these myself, I would be pleased to sell them to you for 60 gold for the helm and 80 for the stomach guard, if that is acceptable to you." With that Vindsval allows the shopkeeper to examine the items in question and silently awaits his response.

Vindsval looks up at the stranger who addresses him. He seems to fit the description he was given. "You must be The Esteemed Master Docken. Indeed I do have a package for you from our mutual friend Carvenhall." He hands Docken the package containing the Cloak of Extravagence.(SP: 5, +10 WP, Wearer is Permanently Nimble, Backwear, suitable for Mimes)) Vindsval catches the battered helm. (Explorer’s Dented Helm (SP: 2, immune to wood and earth damage; headwear; suitable for Rangers, evokers, wardens, and marauders) "After I next speak with Master Anwyl it shall be done."

On quest 126 The quest. I enjoyed it. There was a nice solid story line and Miderun and Vindsval being able to return and visit with old friends was fun. I know I enjoyed being able to write to and catch up with the characters from Vindsval's first trek into heroica and I can assure you Vindsval will be signing up for any quest that has Tridentia in the title. It is a lot of fun to get in on the ground floor so to speak of a new area of a well established world and he an integral part of its development. Vindsval cant wait to see Luke and the others again. I did catch the name of the Den clan. I didn't think Vindsval would be one to shout out, "Your murderous bastard of a father, Ai, I was the one that slew him." I was hoping for some more dialog with them before the dismissal. But since everyone else had already split and Vindsval didnt get a response to his question about how they came to power It didn't like it was going to continue. I would be perfectly happy to edit Vindsval's leaving and get into it with the old man. Other than Vindsval's old friends Fabian was my favorite NPC. I kept waiting for someone to take a swipe at him. Vindsval was close a time or two after some of his comments to Annienal. The battles were fun and challenging enough to keep things interesting. My only complaint is that there transitions from scene to scene were a bit abrupt. a little more lead in would have been great. But a lot of that has already been said. I think if there was another interaction with the pirates upon setting sail from tridentia that might have tied in the initial action to the rest of the story. Perhaps they too had heard rumors of a miraculous bloom hidden on the island. I agree with Warlen on the loot side of things. IT did seem a little geared to one particular niche of characters, but overall I like what was dropped. Consumables are never to be underestimated in the loot, but some ether user specific items would have been greatly appreciated by Warlen and Vindsval and there was nothing knight specific for Annienal. I am assuming that the loot was devised before the quest was initiated. Like I said, overall I had fun and look forward to your next quest. On to the characters. Vindsval- My main goal for Vindsval is to write a believable character that is fun to read. I think I am doing alright so far, but I want to make him a bit more convincing. I appreciate all of the input you all have given me thus far and I am very happy to see that there are many who enjoy where I am taking him. This was my first time as a full quest leader and it is harder than it looks. I tried keeping everyone happy with loot and not be bossy with actions. Battle order was the hardest. Annienal had the highest armor score so she took the brunt of most of the attacks. I tried to rotate the rest of us as fairly as possible. No one has commented on my sucking as a quest leader so I guess I did alright. And on a side note, someone please tell me if all the Path, Trail, road references start to get old. I dont want him to lose his religious side, but I don't want him to become his own cliche either. Annienal- The shy knight has by far the clearest written voice of the characters, and that made her very fun to read. The way her speech and actions are put down on the screen paints a very vivid picture of the timid young lady. (all puns intended there) She immediately brought out a protective attitude in Vindsval. Even though she is an accomplished warrior she hit that soft spot Vindsval has for children and the attacked. I would love to go on another quest with her. Miderun- This was Vindsval's second quest with the confrontational orc woman and it was fun as usual. It was fun to play the confused card when she spoke in a language that everyone assumed that another greenskin should know. I have to admit I was kinda looking forward to Miderun attacking Fabian out of spite for his sexist mannerisms. I had a lot of fun reading the interactions between her and Annienal and her in Fabian. Keep up the good work, and for the love of the Wanderer, teach Vindsval some orcish. He might be half Ogre, but everyone expects all greenskins to speak the same language. Warlen- Vindsval initially saw Warlen as someone who didnt take life quite serious enough and often showed a great disrespect for those he had just met. AS the quest progressed he started to gain a some respect in the half giants view and Vindsval started to see him as someone with a good bit of potential if he could learn to keep his mouth shut. He was fun to read. I know I have only been here a short time but it was the first time I have read a character having a physical reaction to drinking a consumable. The bit of drunken shenanigans after consuming the mead was a RP high point for Warlen in my opinion. Vindsval isn't about to go out on the town with the mouthy smalling, but he wouldn't throw him off his seat if he sat down to chat. Ohh the one hand joke, a strike a palpable hit good sir. Also, I hadnt really read anything with your floating skull other than in the hall, but I think you did well without him. Actaeon- Actaeon and Vindsval's interaction started out rocky and I was really hoping that the two characters would have a chance to get into it more. Both have a strong view of the what they feel is proper behavior and it clashed a bit. Every good group of character has at least a couple that fray on each other and I was hoping to get a little more negative energy brewing between the two. IT adds so much spice to an adventure when you dont know what will happen between the heroes. I am assuming since he has been silent for quite some time something serious in real life has taken residence, and I look forward to he and Vindsval meeting up in the future.

Vindsval places one massive hand on the door to the hall, and listens as raucus cheers, laughter, and banter meet his ears. It has been a long time since he had last been here. The seas are not he friend to those of his stature. But, there is something to be said about the silence found in a still sea night. He pushes the door slowly open and enters the hall once more. He goes first the Sheherezad and obtains a large flagon, or perhaps it is more accurate to call it a small cask of a light blue tinged wine. Then seeing Miderun alone at her table he moves to join her. "Yreg Val Staal might this one share a table with you?" Vindsval addresses Miderun almost sheepishly as he attempts to form the foreign words. Though if he must be honest with himself, they fit more tightly between his fangs than do the words of men and elves.

Upon arriving back port Vindsval stops by the marketplace, and begins at Anwyl's Forge. "Master Smith, I would have some work performed if it is convenient." First he hands the Dwarf his Tricorne Hat Would you begin by removing the Diamond from the tricorne. 231-50 = 181 That done he places the tricorn and now free Diamond back in his pouches. "I also have these two whips(WP5), which I must confess do not sit so well into my hand. I would part with them for 25 each" 181+25+25 = 231 He hands over the whips in exchange for the standard sum for weapons of their like and draws Verkenner from its scabbard. "Master Anwyl, in my battle with a giant scorpion I fear that Verkenner's balance was altered. Would you please correct that while increasing its damage to level 10." 231-100=131 He hands the smith his broomstick and waits patiently while the craftsman works his magic. "Excellent, thank you, your work as always is worth every coin spent."
-
Catching the final note of "they are expendable" Vindsval furrows his brow, gives a slight bow and takes his leave. "By your leave my lords, I have a ship to catch."
-
Vindsval catches the small pouch and places it with his now full purse. "Warlen, before you leave let us not forget my topaz."
-
OOC: warlen can pay Vindsval back in cash now if you want.
-
Vindsval kneels lower next to Miderun. "You know I do not speak the language of your kin. I believe when last we parted company we were going to discuss all of our native tongues. But until then, please speak plainly" He returns to his feet and turns to the Old Man and his grandson. "I and my compatriots thank you. This is indeed a great manor, if I may ask, how did you come to be such a power here?"
