  1. Vindsval considered it a moment, 250 coin for something he cannot yet use is a steep price. But, if the witchery way is indeed that path he is to take..... "A deal then has been struck. My hope is that it will pay off in the long run." He hands the exceeding pale woman 250 gold coins. His purse now much lighter than it was before.
  2. At the mention of a "Witches Talisman, vindsval's enormous ears perk ad he moves to speak to the new arrival. "I have recently been curious about learning the Witchery way. Would you accept 200 for the talisman you mentioned?"
  3. "But you now wield the power of the cards. How did that fare for you in the fields. Did you have opportunity to summon creatures to your aid?"
  4. "Yes indeed, It would seem so." Vindsval looks more closely at the man in the wide brimmed hat. "Wait a moment, I was eliminated very early on and left shortly there after, but are you not who who won the full glory in the Decamon tournament?"
  5. "An honor to make your acquaintance. As for purchase I am sure an item such as this would be beyond my means. But the properties which Guts accounted it were far too amazing in description to not examine." Vindsval looks down at the skin. Guts was not exaggerating when he said there was only enough to make something crude. Rather than a suit of scaled armor it is only a shimmering vest. He claimed that it could take on the ability of the last elemental force used on it. A mighty power indeed for such thin skin. Vindsval removes several gems from his pouch, a Diamond, a Topaz, and an Aquamarine. He places each one near the vest in turn and watches as the vest first glows with a holy light, then crackles with tiny arcs of electricity, then becomes dark as if made of shadows on the waves. "By the Wanderer, this came from a truly miraculous creature." He re-pockets the gems It found you in the Fields? What was it doing on a farm?
  6. Vindsval looks in the direction Guts is pointing. "Atramor you say. Perhaps I shall go introduce myself." Vindsval picks up the clay jar of black liquid and Salutes Guts. "To the crossing of paths and the making of friends." He drinks deeply, and his face screws up slightly. "What is this? It tastes familiar yet completely foreign to me." He takes another draft of the strange liquid. "It does put a pleasant heat in the belly though" The half giant walks across the room to where Atramor is seated. When he reaches the table he inclines his head and introduces himself. "I am Vindsval, called the Half-Born, my pardon sir, but Master Guts told me that you have in your possession a piece of armor made from the skin of a Chameleon like beast. I must admit I am intrigued. Would you mind if I examined it?"
  7. "So the beast was able to mimic the elemental powers of your spells and weapons. Curious, do you suppose it was a magical of physical ability. Imagine if the skin kept the power after death. It would make a truly impressive suit of armor."
  8. "Serpent skinner? There are those in the red lantern district who might take that title as well. I know not whether I would spread that around. Though any title hard earned is one to be proud of."
  9. "Many thanks, It would seem I am on my way to discovering a new vocation. I have more to learn before I am ready for it though." Vindsval adds the Twin Sai (WP: 10, dual strike, dagger) to his inventory. "Tell me, you have just arrived from the Fields have you not. I have not heard much about them other than teh deadliness of their farm life. Did you fare well?"
  10. "That does seem to be a common belief in these parts. I do admit they seem to reside in very similar spheres, and may have even been worshiped as one in the distant past, but I assure you Tarok and Wartan are not one and the same." Vindsval thinks over the mentioning of an amulet of power, the idea has promise, but all thoughts of jewelry are knocked from his mind when Guts sets the two long three pronged blades on the table. Though he is curious why they are two separate blades when Guts called the item "The Twin Sai.""I am familiar with this weapon. I met a man once who made his living traveling from town to town fighting the youth in each. He was small in stature and older than most elders. He would offer to fight anyone in town, and for double the bet he would do it with one arm tied behind his back. May I?" Vindsval examins the blades more closely and looks up. "I spoke with him after one such bout. He claimed to have been raised by the Nihn-Jah-Goh clan in this manner of fighting and the Twin Sai was a weapon of their design." He gestures for guts to press and twist several small marking on the base of each dagger hilt. Small fingerlike protrusions open on both and a small rod projects from the center of one. "Now push them together" When Guts does so the two separate blades lock together into a single double ended weapon. "A bit long for one of normal stature, but a perfect fit for a hand such as mine. Would you be willing to part with it Master Guts? I do not have anything exotic to offer you, but perhaps..." Vindsval thinks a moment "you would be willing to accept this." He rumages through his pack and removes a Grating STone. I am told that once weapons become quite powerful they are very helpful. Is that an acceptable trade my friend?
  11. I think you have an extra X2 in there.
  12. "My father was a Shaman, that road held great power, but I do not feel the affinity to plants and animals that it required. The Whitchery Way, yes I can see how those who follow the lord of the Greenskin pantheon could frown upon the use of curse magic. But the Wanderer, who you southlanders might call Wartan, he sees that all paths can lead to a single destination, yet not all who trod the same path travel the same course. One who is a master of poisons could indeed become a feared striker in the dark, a force for darkness for infamy, But could not one who masters poisons, and even yet curses, turn this mastery to protection. One who masters a dark art need not become an artist of darkness. The Path of which may indeed hold the answers I seek. When the time comes I may seek out this Copper Fox and ask him to teach me the Witchery Way. Tell me, what tools would I need to begin this journey? He pats his bag where he is keeping the fangs, stingers, and bards of the venomous creatures he has vanquished. "I have begun my research, but there must be other items that would benefit me in my training."
  13. "My apologies, after the incident with the doctor I was left in something of a haze. Between leaving his home and leaving for Tridentia there is much that was a blur. I am certain there are a number of those who I met that I would be hard pressed to name. As far as to which path I wish to take I am at a crossroads. I came to this hallowed hall with hopes of becoming a Paladin. Tales of their heroics and their defense of the defenseless abound within the lands I have traveled. For one such as I, an outcast with now holding, to hold a place among them was a dream worth striving for. But now, I have my doubts that I would be accepted into their number." He glances at his shoulder and the obvious lack of a shield arm, a prerequisite for a "shield of justice." "over my last two journeys I have been introduced to the power of the natural world. Their are creatures that with but a whif of their breath or a prick of a stinger can take a life without recourse to defend against it. If such powers exist, would it not be prudent to master these techniques. To weild these powers, to hold such death within my hand and to be able to turn it aside. I can see much good able to come of such a Path. Is there such a discipline as this?"
  14. Vindsval Joins the Alchemist at his table. "Vindsval is indeed my name. It honors me that there are those who know it. I have not heard anyone address you however, what is it I should call you friend? You fashion them yourself. Such power to one who can utilize it. So Many many paths..." he trails off slightly then returns to the moment. "Indeed I finished my last drink some time ago. A fervor left me in a thirst. I would take something strong and he looks at his giant hand and back to Guts "In a large solid vessel."
  15. Vindsval moves to the questboard and takes another look. "Undermountain folk, it may be tight, but It could prove gratifying to meet with such master craftsmen." He signs up for Quest 132 As Guts moves past him he hears the clanking of hundreds of potions and vials. "Pardon my bluntness, but how is it you came to poses so many concoctions? Your bags literally overflow with potent mixtures."
  16. a head on a spear. Alas poor dragon, we knew him not.
  17. "Have we not been over this before? My given name is Vindsval." He looks askance at his empty cask. "but to answer your question, indeed I have. It fetched a mere 30 pieces, but here is your half as we agreed." He hands Warlen 15 Gold pieces from his purse. "You seemed taken aback by my mentioning of Demons in the night. Do tales told by those who wish power over children still trouble you? Or perhaps, beneath your glibness you foster enough wisdom to know that all such tales are not simply fables."
  18. Vindsval looks around the now strangely silent hall. "Perhaps my outburst has made the godless uneasy."
  19. I dont think I have ever seen that set in the wild.
  20. Nice, which dragon is that from?
  21. "Accepted with thanks." 331 +15 = 346
  22. With the extra coin in hand Vindsval goes back to Anwyl's stall. "It seem I have been seeing more of you than usual lately. I have been holding onto this Overcoat since my first venture from Heroica. (Tailored Overcoat (SP: 1; Immunity to wind, earth-, and water- damage; suitable for rangers, rogues, hunters, and beast warriors; back wear) I would have you remove the thre gems from it." 481- 50 -50 -50 = 331 He hands the gold over to Anwyl and takes back the Coat, Garnet, Saphire, and Aquamarine in return. He then returns to Fabian's Stall with the coat in hand. "Shining one, I simply could not stay away. You have far too many beautiful things. I am now ready to sell this Beautiful Tailored Overcoat (SP: 1; suitable for rangers, rogues, hunters, and beast warriors; back wear) Would you be willing to pay 20 gold for it?"
  23. Vindsval takes the offered gold and give he elf the Helm and Stomach guard in return. He bows his head slightly and attempts what he thinks is his pleasant smile among the small races. "Many thanks Small and Shining Star." He places his hand on his chest. "This one is Vindsval, called The Half Born. Perhaps one day I will share my tale, but as to what I am my father was an Ogre Shamen wandering among the Nordic tribes and my mother was a Sage to her people the Ice Giants."
  24. I can dig it. Is the droid arm glued to the helmet?
  25. gonna go with utterly undefeatable. And that is if you even get past the sheep. Wanna make a short lived stab at it?
