So I had taken parts of my POTC set to embellish and outfit my Musketeer. I gave him the sword holder. I then thought that Jack's face would be suitable for the Musketeer and the Musketeer's face suits Jack. Of course ignore the fact that his chest is bare and not yellow haha

Series 4 Musketeer gets a POTC upgrade
Solscud007 replied to Solscud007's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Why the secrecy? So I gave the musketeer a make over. Captain Jack Sparrow's face is a perfect match for the Musketeer. And likewise for Captain Sparrow. Brickdoctor: I could angle the blade more downward but then that raises the hilt of the rapier and the Musketeers hand gets in the way. So I would have to raise the hand rather high to accommodate the raised hilt. -
Yeah sort of like that gundam strike. Also I would make the suggestion of using the boat smooth curved circles to cover up the shoulders. Then it would smooth out the design of the shoulder piece.

Yep. Great explanation of components and the stand looks great too!!

It is in the Nanuet/Nyack, NY store in the Palisades Mall. North of New Jersey and west of NYC.

Actually that was just me putting him in there. I love my 4 printed leg Stormies. They are the elite Stormtroopers of my small army haha. Also if you look closely, Jedi Luke has been changed to flesh colored head and hand.

Series 4 Musketeer gets a POTC upgrade
Solscud007 replied to Solscud007's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah, it bugs me that the Musketeer has a printed cross belt/holder. It doesnt make sense for him to have it on his right side. Unless he is left handed. I also added a main gauche. On Dealiest Warrior I saw a weapons expert talk about Musketeers and he said they carried a main gauche along with their rapier. -
Sorry I misread your description. I thought the trans red cylinders was the lightsaber. But after second glance I see the actul light saber blade. If the trans red cylinders were to be the light saber, the cutting edge is blocked by the wing/shield.
-
it reminds me of a walker how Darth Vader is exposed sitting on top like that. I like the red light saber feel but think it needs to be more practical. I like the tie advanced style wing shields.

When I saw the accessories for the POTC sets, I had to get one for my Musketeer. Now he has a proper Rapier holder!!!

I really like the transition from the water to the beach. I like how you can see the sand under the water as it reaches the shore.

well I can break down and get a Dropship. But more than likely I will just get an Arc fighter and some magnets to make it to $75.

Oh wow, I like the display for the 10188 Death Star!!!

Yeah I had a hard time spotting the Rodians. One thing that bothers me is the constant circular holes in the greebling pieces. There are so many of them that it seems to be almost like a pattern.

Perhaps this should go into the general questions section?

What facts are there that the 6212 i still in production? I mean I have seen it in TRU last year still on the shelf. However its existence on the shelves is not any indication of production run. TRU has a tendency to have exclusive items, take Transformers for example, that sit on the shelves WAAAAYYYY longer than they should. I dont think it is a matter of the items still in production but rather People are not buying these items. TRU has an exclusive transformer called Masterpiece Grimlock. It retails between $70-$80. Now the same toy was previously released in Japan. Slightly different accessories but basically the same toy. It retailed for double the price. Now the intricacies of the collector market are varied and different. But the fact of the matter is, that this toy can still be found on the shelves of TRU. I feel as though the X-wing was not that great a seller. Otherwise they would be flying off the shelves. Instead I think what we are seeing are left over stocks. Right now Clonewars is in the conscience of any kid who likes SW. Even for adults like myself, the Lego video game and the series drives my impulses to want CW related SW legos.

Wow crazy. The mountain of greebling must have taken a long time.

I cant recall, who sells custom gaffi sticks and other SW lego weapons? I need a bobafett gun and some clone trooper weapons. Thanks -
Legostein, I had no idea it was your creative genius that came up with that MOC Boussh minifig. I didnt properly read the article. I just looked at the pictures haha. But I'm not that surprised that it is you. The design fantastic It is spot on and all your creations are always spot on. Thanks for sharing!!! Masked Builder: That Leia in Boussh looks ok but it requires a custom decal and silver sharpie on the stud. I prefer to use original Lego pieces as much as possible. A hidden modification is fine, like using half a technic studded pin for my R2D2 third leg, but drawing on a lego piece to get the Boussh mouth is not something I would want to do. It draws my attention away from the world of Lego. If all the pieces are Lego then I can immerse myself. But hand drawn lines on a lego piece awakens me from that immersion and draws attention to itself. But it is a clever Boussh costume just not to my preferences.

Really oxiclean? Here is a thread on a transformers forum I frequent. I had heard of this miracle through my Transformer boards. http://www.cybertron.ca/boards/showthread.php?t=15647 Im anxious to try it out since I recently picked up a Episode 1 naboo fighter. The gray wings are yellowed but I dont care too much about that. The gen 1 R2D2 body is yellowed. I want that to be white again.

Thanks. I need a trans black 1x2 plate but dont have any. They only show up in two mini SW sets that I dont have. So I decided to use a regular trans plate.

Ok you need to get a system down. First thing you want to do is feel out the obvious parts. Legs, torso, figure stand plate, and head. All sets have that. So dont waste your time too long feeling those in the bag. The next thing is to find something unique. Surfer girl is the easiest. Her surfboard is HUGE. It is long and flat. No other figure in series 4 has anything like that. Artist, feel for small items like the paint brush or I prefer to look for the painters palate. Werewolf is harder. I look for the bone to be absolutely sure. Sometimes hair pieces can feel the same. So i dont waste my time on feeling hair. Yesterday I picked up 5 Star Wars sets used from craigslist. Tusken Raider Encounter Jabba's Prize (no Boba Fett but came with Jedi Luke from endor (gray printed torso) Darth Maul Light Saber Duel Ep 1 Naboo Fighter with Anakin and R2D2 (no battle droid or service vehicle) Final Duel II (Jedi luke, Imperial Officer, and Stormtrooper) All that for $40 Here is a pic.
