Boba Fett's hodge podge Mandalorian armor is fine for handling your average run of the mill nerf herding smuggler and his hairy behemoth side kick. But what does Boba use when capturing larger prey? Why his Mandalorian Battle Armor!!! Here is the final product. I added a main weapon and wrist mounted dual flame throwers. Here you can see the hatch opened back and the controls flipped forward to allow access into the mech. The one aspect I am very proud of, is that I can accommodate Boba Fett with his old helmet/backpack Here you can see how well his backpack fits inside the mech cockpit. I spent some time redesigning the jetpack to make it more solid. Before the bottom half of the pack was held by only one stud. But now it is held by the 1x4 smooth plate. And of course the secret weapon, the mech can turn into a 4 legged tank and fire the rocket turret.

I cannot find the Easter mini lego sets at any of the Walmarts I have been to. If you have seen the mini Tie Fighter at your local walmart, please grab me two sets and I will paypal you to ship them to me I am in NY. Thanks. Nick

Just cut the technic axle pin with stud. It will be up inside R2 and you will never take it out.

I gave my black R2-Q5 a black third leg. But I dont think I will do it to all of them.

Wow, this is simply amazing. I love your mini builds. And the cliped plate is great. -
Very cool. I like Boba Fett's propeller mode of jetpack.

Hey fellow New Yorker. Im up in Nyack across the Tappan Zee bridge. Good to know there are some Lego fans. It is short notice but there is a lego event this weekend up in Tarry Town. I got the info from the Palisades Center Lego store. Sadly I will be out of town this weekend.

I used a sprue cutter. You can get them at your local hobby store. They can be called "wire cutters" at Joann Fabrics and Michaels Craft stores but they are sharp wire cutters. Then use a hobby knife like an xacto to shave any remaining plastic. I have a hobby manual drill called a "pin vise" It comes with very thin drill bits. I had a drill bit that was the perfect size hole as the Clone Trooper helmet holes. You need to make sure the hole you drill is the right size. if you make it too large the turn table disc will not pop into place. I used super glue and put a drop in the hole and plugged the turn table on. Then kept moving the disc for a few minutes. That way the glue will not set properly and fix the turntable permanently. You just want to tighten the friction but only do this if you made the hole too big. Also I had to trim the top half of the leg posts. Otherwise the technic pin that pokes out will get in the way f the turn table post. hope that makes sense.

Sort of. The common method is to cut the bottom rim of R2's head. Instead I shaved the studs off the top of the body. Then used a turn table disc to swivel the head.

How were you able to align the ball and socket? No matter how hard I try, the hemispheres never click in to the socket.
-
Yeah but I have like three white R2s: 1x white head and 2x gray heads. So this one is my "swiss army" knife R2. Im debating drilling into the body and give him a probe via antennae/handle But I dont think I will.
-
I dont know. I prefer the gray thrusters and a gray periscope but I was too lazy to go fish out a gray antennae for the pictures.
-
I always wanted R2-D2 to have maneuvering thrusters after watching him fly around in PT. I used a pair of Clone Trooper helmet lights and drilled a hole of the same diameter as the helmets into each leg. Also you can stick an antennae into R2's head and pretend it is a periscope.

WHAT? wow those prices are crazy. However I have to say that the new Lego SWIII came is not helping lego prices.

I dont think you can press charges for something that only costs $40. At most you can black list him or jeer him. Give him negative feedback. -
Its really just luck. I have been quite fortunate. One of my most recent purchases was a 8019 Republic Attack Shuttle I picked up at Walmart, along with a 8018 AAT. Each on sale for only $29.99 not bad. I picked up a AT-TE Walker 7675 Unopened for $75 last fall thanks to craigslist. I did break down and got a Republic Gunship 7676 at a small local toy store before I moved to NY back in September. It was retail at $150. But just last January, a friend of mine in Los Angeles told me he had a lego set that he wanted to give me. It was another 7676 RGS. It was missing one of the engines but it had all the minifigs except Asajj's skirt. But who's complaining? It was free!! I have been somewhat lucky scouring Cragislist.org it is more prevalent in the States. You might want to check outside of the UK too. Just keep looking. Eventually something will come out of it.

Yeah that tunnel shot is AMAZING!!!! Here are two I took on April 1 when I got my Hazmat suits. Japanese Nuclear operator. Bravely preparing to fight the Fukushima Daiichi plant Americans worried about radiation coming from Japan. "OMG SAVE THE CHILDREN!!!" "Is my hazmat suit going to protect me? What do you mean you are out of iodine pills?" -
I really think there must be a way to incorporate the figs into the Executor. I dont mind if it has just one storage location underneath the dorsal city. As long as it looks like a UCS set that is all that matters.

TLG Minifig USB now with swappable torsos
Solscud007 replied to Solscud007's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
1. Yes Strider knife is a brand of hard use knives. It has a very thick blade. So it is like a wedge. It is very sharp. I split the seam between the torso and the hips. I just gently insert the blade all along the circumference of the hips moving the hips slowly away from the torso. 2. Yes the friction from the hips is strong enough to stay in place when removing the minifig from the computer. However his helmet is a different story all together. -

But wasn't the USB drive a deformed mimobot? It is not a Lego minifig.
