I assume the reference to the width is that it is too wide? I count 15 studs wide for the chassis. I think if one counts the width with the wheels it is likely more? I found some wheels that may work with this model with some tweaks. THey are larger, so I would have to increase the length, perhaps making the scale to width better. I will see when they arrive. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BJ8R9Y46?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details If not I may redo my Grove 64000 with these tires. We shall see.... BTW...you have a video of this working?

42172 - McLaren P1
nerdsforprez replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Lets also hope, for their sake, that it is not the old P1. I think TLG is acutely aware of popular, well-designed MOCs of their fans, especially ones that are popular enough to make it into other markets. Let's not forget @brunojj1's P1 from years ago. No way TLG competes with that. If they were to release the old P1, everyone would compare it to @brunojj1's model, and it would fall way short. My money is that it would be a big joke for TLG, showing how inferior their products are what is being produced in MOC circles. -
Yes. Does look good in a darkened room. Ill post a pic. ALso, I agree with your comment about incorporating LEGO in the structure/decoration of one's home. I am actually surprised there is not more talk/posts about this. As mentioned in this thread, I had made a post a while ago Lego Walls and gave some examples I had found, but not really much discussion ensued. I love this idea, and as can be seen on my YT page I now have several projects incorporated into my room. I am sure I will be doing more. TY for the comments. I am sure I will be dong more.

Good morning Everyone! New build here....quite a bit different though. Some time ago I had made a post about “Lego Walls” but it really did not get much traffic. Show us your Lego Walls - Special LEGO Themes - Eurobricks Forums Anyways, I would like to do several of the walls in my Lego room something like a decorated wall with Lego. With nooks, crannies, and other types of goodies inside. I have already done one such wall project, which was really expensive and time-consuming. But FUN! Anyways, here is a second project. Much smaller, and certainly not covering the whole wall, but still some 4-5,000 pieces. Built in modular fashion, and as can be seen in the video, with “Kingdoms” built inside. With lights. The video gives details of how it was done. Pretty self-explanatory, and there are clips of each different module. I used Technic 1x2 bricks with screws through the center to hang the model, then hid those bricks (and their screws) behind other bricks. Then used Technic bricks of various lengths, and pin with connector pieces for easy removal. Yes, the whole thing is relatively easy to take down. It is not fixed to the wall with tape or anything. Below are some stills of the different modules, and the video shows them in greater detail. I only show the front because the backs are made from a variety of different colors and it looks horrible, but it is an efficient way to build (no one will see the back). Lights are added for special effect and look great at night. Have to say the pics don’t really do it justice. The most difficult thing I think was threading the light wires through everything and trying to hang at the same time. But wonderful effect. Hope you enjoy!

Yea. I will be purchasing the instructions for the steering. Keep the changes coming, I sure am interested. Have to wait for the model to come to the US though..

I try to add something meaningful when I post on other's MOCs. All I can say is WoW! There is a ton of difference between first and second gear, which I think is a great choice. Really adds to the play of the model. Not sure I can recall something having such as difference between first and second gear. Well done. THe looks are outstanding. Spot on. I live in the US and these trucks are everywhere. You captured the essence perfectly. Last thing I will say is the suspension and first gear are a great combo. Truly, it looks like the real thing when it is climbing around in the first part of the video. Just wow. I may have to be building this one...

Wow... sorry for the slow response. I made the topic, but didn't return! Not sure if it would sound proof - My guess is that one would probably have to do each wall for that to happen. I guess if you could cover all walls, perhaps it could. But that really would be some project!

Nico71's Creations
nerdsforprez replied to nico71's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very cool idea. Modular builds are among my favorite. I am surprised TLG has not implemented this more in their models. THey have a bit, like with the Creator Mustang and others (10265), btu there is so much more that could be done with this.... -
I think these discussions are difficult. So very subjective. I know plenty of others who felt like "big red" an obstreperous, lunky, over-built brick. I tended to agree with them. Of course there are some themes. Some sets, rarely, seem to be loved by nearly all. Claas Xerion was one of them. But hard to argue "best" and "worst" years for Lego Technic. Very subjective.

[MOC] Mechanical Grader
nerdsforprez replied to paave's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Love your creations. Highly functional but not overly large or cumbersome. Aesthetically accurate but looks are not the primary focus. Huge builds are fun, but I think they can bias folks into thinking builds must be huge in part count for huge functionality. Your builds prove otherwise.- 13 replies

I guess this post would go here. I don't frequent this side of the forum often. Anyways, looking for folks to showcase any walls from Lego they have built. Not to be confused with Lego Wall Displays. I want to be careful that this thread doesn't turn into that. Here are a few examples I found online. https://pin.it/2rtQdqjKA https://www.totalgeekdom.com/?p=650 I have built my own, and am currently building my second. But I would like to see others! I know it is rare to have the space required to replace a wall with Lego, but I am sure there are other examples out there. What are some of the problems folks are facing? Fun ideas? I especially like the projects where there is enough space within the wall for a small build with lights that enable one to see it.

Hey Everyone! I have taken a little break from Lego but currently working on a few projects which is nice. Completed @blaz62's Volvo FH 16 which I posted a while ago. I love the model so much I decided to make it the centerpiece of my Lego room, and at the same time extend my Lego table for more building room. Here is the video of building it in action. I used the case from i.displayit.com - their Millennium Falcon (vertical) case. The case is great, I only had one gripe with it. In the pictures the case appears as if it has a transparent base when you order in white, which it does not. I wished I had read the description better. The pictures really are bad. But I spray-painted the base, and everything else worked fine! Added a light - and well, I really like the effects at night. Few stills.

Steam Gauntlet
nerdsforprez replied to Archivolt's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The raising and lowering is quite mesmerizing. Interesting build and great submission. I assume it will be covered with more steampunkness though? THere doesn't really seem to be much added at this point... -
42177 Mercedes G500 4X4
nerdsforprez replied to SNIPE's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Golly... I was worried there was some huge construction set or other flagship that I had not heard about. oh well. G Wagon it is... though it hardly looks much like a "flagship". I think something being assigned to the number 42183 is unlikely... -

Forgive me... not keeping up with Lego as I once did. What is the expected flagship this year? -
[MOC] US Red Nose Truck
nerdsforprez replied to Aleh's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I tend to agree. If it were possible to do all white, with no black inserts I think it would look great. But with the black inserts I would be reluctant to use this color... Great model btw.... -

Can we also get details on the image to the right? Is this another build of yours? -

Very impressed with this. Admittedly I have not been able to look at all the details or spend the time it deserves. But I will be returning to it. But just at first glance, had to comment on how impressed I am with this build. I would not be surprised if when I return to this topic and look further into the details, I purchase the instructions and build myself... -
You have a remarkably relaxed interpretation of "2000-parts range". One is 2274, the other is 2793. That is a 519 piece difference, or a 23% difference. If we round, the former is closer to 2,000 pieces, the latter 3,000. Not to mention the former (with the fewer pieces) is not only one vehicle but two, unlike the AROCS. The AROCS was a flagship, whereas this is not even close.. THe AROCS was motorized, this one is not... I mean the differences are endless. I really dont think these are sets to compare, even if we exclude the price issue. My comments were definitely about the price. In fact, by stating "Folks have to stop making these comparisons" the operative word here is "these" referring to the price. This should be clear with my comment about inflation, and nearly 10 years that had passed between AROCS release and now. If you throw out the price discussion, not sure why you even quoted me....
