The same would happen when I drove our old Fiat Panda 4x4, which it did not have a centre differential. You could only connect/couple both axles with a lever. In low traction surfaces it worked miracles, especially combined with its low weight. It was really awful when driving on normal tarmac and the system would wind up. In those conditions centre differential is necessary.

Nearly the same number of voters ranked them in the same order. Average points is nearly 6 (5,99) for second and 5,43 for third.

Thank you for your kind welcome. Studded vs. Studless is an epic dilemma and discussion! There is an easy answer to that, which is evolution. I will present you with my opinion which I repeat is just my own thoughts! There is no denying that people like me and a lot of other AFOLs who have lived in the Technic studded era, needed some time to adjust to the new building techniques. But it is for sure that the evolution to the studless design has offered more freedom for new designs as well as more compact results in building. One of the results of the studless design is the need for more pieces per set because of the necessity of numerous pins and pieces that were not necessary in the studded sets. An easy example to justify my previous conclusion is that one of the studded benchmark flagships sets, the 8868 Airtech Claw Rig, had only! 953 parts, where today's flagships have even reached way above the 2k part total. Finally, I believe that the studless design can reach to more complicated results in MOCs and Sets. There is one thing missing though. Studded bricks is Lego trademark and studless by definition has lost the original look of Lego. One last thought is that there is another step in Technic evolution needed now. I believe that Lego with the goal of producing big and complicated sets, have lost the magic of simplicity in creating functions in Technic sets. Next goal must be to build set with same functions with simplicity in mind, more minimal than huge and complicated. Just my opinion. This is a never ending debate but you cannot stop evolution!

After introducing myself, I thought I should mention my first experience, as an adult, with MOCs and modifications. As I do not own all parts to build this MOC, I tried to substitute the steering parts with the ones of the 42021 Snowmobile. After quite some time (being rusty does not help – but it’s coming back), I managed to build it keeping most of it as designed but with different steering elements. In the start it looked flimsy but started strengthening the nose (I may have overdone it!). Finally it worked and hove to say that its design is great and both I and the kids love it as it is fast, sturdy and very playable. Very nice MOC indeed.

Hello all from Greece, After quite a while, reading in this forum (Technic mostly), I decided to write a few words about me, as a new member should do. I was in love with Lego in my early years but I haven’t touched them in 20 years, since I was 17. My last big Technic sets were the 8868 and 8880. You could say that I knew only studded technic bricks at the time! Six months ago I visited my parents’ house at my hometown with my two kids (7 & 5 years old). So I decided that it was time to introduce them to the world of Lego. So I took the entire collection home and both me and the kids loved it. Since then, the Lego fire was reignited inside me. I rebuilt my old flagships and after that, I acquired a few modern Technic sets, several small and a few flagships 8110, 9398 and 42009. It really takes some time to adjust to studless building style (maybe I am really rusty). In this forum I realized that there are numerous talented builders around and a lot more that really enjoy Lego. It is nice to have met your company and I hope in the little free time available to be able to contribute as well. Kind Regards, Thanos - Greece
