I wanted to create a Ghostbusters firehouse that looked more like how I remembered it from when I was a kid and read the comic books (I was too young to see the movies). In the comics it was more light green, and not red like LEGO's official version. I was also a fan of Filmnation's Ghostbusters, so I used a tiny bit of inspiration from that show as well (okay, basically just for the skull phone...). I do have the first Ecto-1 that LEGO made, but I wanted to create something shorter that would fit in the HQ's garage, so I used an older LEGO ambulance that I've shortened for that. Some people fint this version "cute". As always only women are allowed to live in my custom town Soltown, so I switched the figs into cool females. Here's the video!

What's the upside? (I haven't taken any photos of this moc, so for now it's only documented in video format) So, I've been experimenting a bit IKEA/LEGOs Bygglek system, and figured that the smallest of the boxes are pretty good for single small rooms, and that if stacked together I could create larger buildings in a modular fashion. Here's a proof of concept with the four boxes I currently have in my inventory.

Thank you for all the kind words! I don't know it my latest build warrants a separate topic, so I'm gone leave the link to the video here, since it's super related to the first build. I've realized that it's possible to fit bricks when you flipp the whole box on it's side.

I'm actually starting to get a bit afraid that the whole city will collapse, since it's starting to become quite heavy... Anyhouse! Here's the new party building! And if you wonder which party to vote for, I'm going to tell you in the video!

Hola! I've built a tiny apartment in one of the IKEA/LEGO Bygglek boxes. Good fun! The rooms are built on separate plates so they're easier to work on, and display on Eurobricks.com. (build video at the bottom) Video

That's the one! I had the fig when I was a kid (but from another set). Thought the S was fitting as in Solbrick, and I'm a huge LEGO 80's fan :)

Merci! I've been eyeballing the IKEA LEGO Bygglek system and realized that the lids are excellent for raised levels.

I love your interiors! So inspiring! And the exterior is cool as well. A lot of modern Swedish apartment buildings looks just like this. Grey is the new black!

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
mikaelsol replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I'm going to upgrade my current town layout with the new system... Well, maybe. The problem is that all the buildings are on the old type of baseplates, so I guess I'll have to switch to plates instead for the whole layout... Hmm, expensive. But I kinda like the new solution. It's easier to customize. -
Since the neighboring city Soltown has invested in science and developed their own nuclear bomb, City City needs better protection. So natural they've hired a wizard ...

Thank you all! Or TANK you :) Any house, I've built a bunker/garage for the van now, that's inspired by those bunkers in Switzerland that looks like ordinary houses.

Cool! I need to google that! They have more money though! :) Thank you! Thank you! I was thinking about how fun toys where back in the 80's with Transformers and MASK etc. Vehicles that had a lot of stuff you could fold out and twist and turn. Good fun!

I needed a cozy little riot van for my custom Lego city (that is a feminist police state). And I wanted it to be cute, but still a bit menacing. As inspiration I looked at Turtles Party Wagon. Here's some pictures, and at the bottom there's a Let's build video.

Well WELL well! Final episode of the harbor update is here! I get totally inspired by the new Harry Potter Diagonal alley set and use the instructions to create a small fishmonger.
