Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Jedi-Bendu replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thnx for the reply. Yesterday the set popped up online for € 87 (I was waiting for the next <€ 90 deal) so I snagged it immediately....now waiting for the set to arrive. -
Or like David Ankrum did as Wedge Antilles.

Compare that photo with this: George Steele and Lisa Marie as Tor Johnson and Vampira in 'Ed Wood'; a movie about the making of 'Plan 9 from Outer Space'. Very accurate!

Maybe it's a stupid question , but could it be that the 75054 AT-AT is retiring? I know it's only been out for +-6 months, but more and more stores are out-of-stock....even some Amazon sites. I was waiting for a good deal (and thought I had PLENTY of time (at least another 6 months)), so should I act quick now? (or is it just that this is a popular set for the holidays and stores will have it again soon?) -
a non-Star Wars, non-Star Trek trailer I'm excited about. Wow, it's been a long time since that happened!

Regarding the Star Wars spin-offs Badassdigest’s Devin Faraci tweeted this yesterday: Devin Faraci @devincf Nov 23 The plot of the first STAR WARS spin-off is out there, and I'm curious to see who runs it first. So, I asked him this: why don't you run it first? (Honest question) And his reply was this: it's not my story. I responded with: ok, why not?...and where can I find the plot? I'd like to know it! :) Today they posted this: Full story @ Slashfilm http://www.slashfilm...-spin-off-plot/ If this is true, it's fantastic.

This GIF has been on the web for a couple of days....rumor is that it's a scene from the upcoming trailer. Edit: it's a fake:

Check the link I posted yesterday....you're not far off with your guesses!

I meant the last Yes, it's too long and it lacks the 'feel' of the book.

No work for 1,5 week! Helping my kids unpack their DUPLO sets! Hell yeah.....

Just saw "Gathering Forces"; the final episode before the winter break. Definately one of the best so far.....maybe even the best since this one oozes classic SW. Can't wait till the series comes back in january!

I've been in stores where the store clerks placed the Meet the Feebles DVD in the kids section...."hey, a cover that has silly animals on it must be a kiddie movie right?" Regarding The Hobbit; I think Jackson tried too hard turning The Hobbit into something (an epic spectacle) it isn't: let's face it: The Hobbit is (unlike LotR) a childrens book. And all these additions that make no sense don't help either.......just like the barrel scene that is just bad and wrong. Legolas has moves even Neo from The Matrix can only dream of. Plus the movies are too long.....$ and € are the only reasons they made 3 instead of 2 movies. Still, as a fantasy movie it's great.......but as an adaptation of the book (a book I first read 23 years ago and is still one of the best ever written) it lacks a lot.

+1 Peter Jackson isn't a great director imo. Sure, LotR was fantastic....but he had great source material.........The Hobbit is also a great book, but it had a very different tone than LotR. His approach wasn't the best imo. He should've made 1, max 2 movies of this book.....without Legolas, Tauriel, etc. King Kong (again, good source material) wasn't great as well......and I never liked Bad Taste, Braindead, The Frighteners en Meet the Feebles....Heavenly Creatures was good on the other hand. Still, I have to see this movie: Edit: http://www.slashfilm.com/star-wars-7-trailer-release-plans/

Looking at the shape it seems to me that something extra is included on the left. Could be a helmet. I know 1 thing for sure: it isn't the Rancor. Or the Wampa.

Link? Edit: found it.

Where did you get the AT-AT for that price? Yesterday I got the new ISD.....and these are the 10 figs I got at Bricklink this week: PS: our 3,5 year old son got the 30126 polybag (Hobbit-Laketown guard) for free today....and wanted to play with it. My gf opened the bag for him while I went: 'that thing is worth 5-10 on BL!'

The Godfather trilogy (I lost track of how many times I've seen these)

So, you hate when things get de-canonized and want to go back to the Lucas days......you mean the days when Lucas directed the prequels.....and completely de-canonized things like the background of Boba Fett (almost everything written about Boba's origins in comics and EU books was wiped away when AotC was released)?

I bet it's this. Still, what happened to Force users like Kanan, Ezra, Ahsoka.....as far as we know they're still alive. And I don't think they'll be killed off in a show thats mainly aimed at kids. Regarding Lucas/Disney: my biggest fear is that now Lucas is no longer a big part of the new SW movies they'll kill someone of the old cast. I don't trust Larry Kasdan as he wanted to ill of someone (Lando for instance) at the beginning of RotJ. Killing off Han, Luke, Leia, Chewie, R2 or 3PO is the worst they can do. That would be like killing off James Bond....or Indy. They have been popular for 35+ years. They have survived and deserve 'eternal life'. Take Casablanca: at the end Bogey and Rains walk away...and we hear that classic line: Imagine had been a sequel to Casablanca many years later in which one of them got killed.....Everyone wants to remembers these classic characters walking away....not dead in a coffin! They kind of did the same thing with Indy4: In Indy 3 we saw Indy, Brody, Sallah and Henry sr. riding away......great ending! Then came Indy4 in which they pointed out that Brody and Henry sr had died......I know Denholm Elliott (Brody) died many years ago and Sean Connery (Henry sr.) quit acting, but IMHO it would have been better if they hadn't mentioned those 2 characters at all or if Indy or someone else had said that they were away for some reason.

Looking at figs from previous Lego books: Luke with medal; a fig that had been done several times, but now with a new torso Han with medal; same as Luke yellow Tatooine Luke: a needless re-issue of a yellow fig the Emperor: new version of a fig that had been in some sets Even though the release is +-10 months from now.....I bet it'll be an Ezra or Kanan minifig.....slightly different than the current ones of course.

New news regarding 2015 sets: In september 2015 LEGO and DK will release this book: LEGO Star Wars Rebels Unite! (September 2015, Dorling Kindersley, 9780241186824) I bet it'll come with an exclusive minifig....the big question is: which character?
-
No, horrible isn't nearly strong enough.
