  1. Even though I know the likes of Han, Luke and Leia are the logical characters to put in the Tydirium set, I hope they put an entirely new character in the set: Orrimaarko (Prune Face). Ok, he isn’t seen on Endor and/or in the shuttle….but he was there during the briefing where the rebel strike team was assembled. Still…in september the Episode VII are coming. Every set will have a new minifig (except maybe Chewbacca, 3PO and R2; they’re the ones who are likely to haven’t changed a lot). No doubt some of the Episode VII minifigs will require a new sculpt. Maybe all the new 2015 sculpts have to be maded for the Episode VII sets so that the OT/PT sets will just use excisting molds/sculpts? Suppose TLG has to choose between a new mold for a Dignitary (for the Duel set) or a main Episode VII set (Kylo Ren?). I bet they’ll go for Kylo. This could mean we’ll be getting ‘the usual suspects’ in the Shuttle (Han, Luke, Leia in Endor gear + chewie/rebel/droid) and Duel (Vader, Sheev, Luke, Royal guards) sets. I hope those Bothan spies will return with pix from the toy fair soon…
  2. Well, those who follow the SW newssites and have seen the leaked pix and read all the spoilers (of which some will be fake) know more than this. I hope the movie will rock (and if 'spoilerman' (a person who 'leaked' almost everything 2 months ago......) has spoken the truth it will (even though it is likely he's Supershadow II), but there's a lot I really hate: Gwendolyn Christie (aargghhhh, why god? why? Why did they cast her? There was a rumor Ben Cumberbatch was also considered for the part....why not get him?), the name Poe Dameron. Dameron is fine....but Poe? Poe is one of the Teletubbies! Of all the Star Wars names there have ever been I have never disliked a name the second I heard it. I guess there's a first time for everything....... The casting of Ep7 doesn't get me excited. I remember in the late 90's the casting for Episode I had a 'wow' effect. Neeson? Great! Portman? Leon was cool! McGregor? No way, I loved Trainspotting and he was the best. Sam Jackson? Jules from Trainspotting in SW? It can't get any better! Abrams made a giant mess of the last movie of another franchise I like......I hope he does better with SW. Regarding the comments SW (and CW, Rebels) are 'childish': as Rollermonkey pointed out it has always been this way. I hope Ep7 will also be for kids as well as adults for various reasons.
  3. Besides the fact that it’s Kyle Newman saying this….Star Wars is WAY more than 6 movies….he is forgetting 4 animated series (Clone Wars, Rebels, Droids, Ewoks) 2 spin-off movies (Caravan of Courage + Battle for Endor) hundreds of novels, comics, videogames….. To quote Egg Shen (Big Trouble in Little China): “There’s Buddhism the OT, Confucianism the PT, and Taoist alchemy and sorcery animated series, comics and the EU. We take what we want and leave the rest… Just like your salad bar.” As for me: the PT is not bad. It’s just not as good as the OT. It doesn’t come close. For me, this is mainly due to many of the designs and the story (and some characters like Baby Fett (who’s worse than JarJar)). Well, Lucas is not entirely to blame for this….. In 1987 the Star Wars Roleplaying game was released by West End Games. They had some awesome companion guides in which many characters from the movies got their names, like Kabe, Muftak, Tessek (formerly known as Squid Head)….. In the mid 90’s Decipher released Star Wars: the Customizable Card Game. Again, many characters got names and Willrow Hood was one of them. Naming all these background characters was essential to the game as every card needed to have one. Also in the mid 90’s 3 Anthologies were released: the ‘Tales of/from’ series, edited by Kevin J. Anderson. These books used the West End Games companions and added new names. In Star Wars Insiders magazine there’s a section in which background characters get names. I know one of the guys who’s responsible for this. They do it under supervision of Lucasfilm’s Leland Chee. So, naming background characters has been done for almost 3 decades…and yes: I want as much OT minifigs as possible, even Willrow Hood, Het Nkik, J’Quille, Saelt-Marae, Reegesk, Treva Horme and of course URoRRuR'R'R.
  4. Princess Mononoke? (I know almost nothing about anime)
  5. Besides the technical Oscars, Star Wars never won a Best Picture Oscar (although the first one was nominated but lost......to Annie Hall). So, (one of) THE defining, most loved, most popular, groundbreaking movie(s) of all time lost to......a Woody Allen pic? But wait! It gets better! Sir Alfred Hitchcock. Without any doubt one of the best directors ever. A legend, a genius. Nominated 5 times for Best Director.....but never won. Sure, the Academy gave him the Thalberg Award in 1983, but thats just an 'We f***** up and forgot you.....so here's an award!'. Over the years there have been really, really, REALLY awful Oscar winners...... How to Train a Dragon Part 2 got a nomination....LEGO movie didn't.
  6. Wow, looks like I'm the only one that really loved it! Seeing Lando again was just great.....they even played his Cloud City theme from ESB! The baddie (based on this Jabba concept art) looked perfect......he would make an awesome minifig. His helpers looked great too. The designs in this episode were good as always, and had a huge bonus in the form of the characters I just mentioned. Regarding the story: It's aimed at kids! The shows I loved as a kid (Masters of the Universe, M.A.S.K., etc) also had slappstick moments sometimes.....as a McQuarrie fan I'm still very happy with this show.
  7. I stand corrected! (Don't have the SSD, didn't know that)
  8. I don't like set 7879 (except the great minifigs...of which I already Snowtrooper, Chewie, Hoth Han)....So I BL'd Hoth Leia and 2-1b a while ago....and now Bacta Luke. There's the risk that he'll be included in the new EchoBase set, but I thought 'what the heck' and took the risk.
  9. Don't forget Captain Piett. (regarding unmade characters with the most screentime)
  10. Edit: doublepost
  11. Well, we don't know yet if Cloud City will feature in Rebels.........but I hope it is and the CC set(s) will come soon. PS: In the 1st episode of Rebels Ugnaughts can be seen. EDIT: I'm about to find out.......gonna watch the Lando episode now! EDIT2: seen it. Best episode yet.
  12. Along with the Nebulon-B Frigate the best idea at LegoIdeas.
  13. You mean: REY's Speeder ;-)
  14. You're absolutely right. I thought I read (on the net) the book would contain 'Legends' stuff....but I just checked and it's what you say: movies, CW, Rebels and probably just an update of the previous edition. A definite pass for me; I'd rather splash my cash when the Episode VII books are coming this fall (I'd be surprised if the don't release hardcover 'Art' and 'Making of' books, as well as the novel) PS: Haven't read Tarkin.
  15. Almost certain it won't have any Ep7 info. Also, I'm almost certain it will contain a lot of non-canon 'Legends' stuff.
  16. I voted
  17. Bright Hope Figs: Toryn Farr, FX-7, 2-1B, Zuckuss, 4-LOM Mon Calamari Cruiser Not just the interior like the set from a few years ago...but the entire ship done in a similar way like the current ISD Minifigs: Ackbar, 2 Mon Calamari, Prune Face/Orrimaarko, Nien Nunb (maybe a new Mon Mothma/Crix Madine, Lando) Nebulon-B Frigate This would be great: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/35323 Jawa Camp http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jawa_camp Basically a set to get multiple Jawas fairly cheap
  18. Looks great, but I'm almost sure Lego will release this set later this year as part of the Episode VII wave.
  19. LOL. When I was building it my 3,5 year old son Lucas said: "There's a mouse with your spaceship!". Of course, I told him it's not a mouse but a womp rat (and yes: it is included with the Skyhopper set)
  20. That was the goal of the creators:
  21. You mean this? Thats the Starbird logo.
  22. That's what people were thinking as well 16 years ago when the soundtrack of Ep1 was released.....and then they saw Track #15 The character names on the box could be huge spoilers; Daisy Ridley's character for instance is named Rey. So far, Lucasfilm has kept her last name a secret. If they (Lego) include her in a set and put just Rey under her minifig on the box it's OK.....Now, suppose she's the daughter of Solo or Skywalker and Lego also puts her last name on the box......bye bye surprise..... The same goes for Max Von Sydows character; there's a huge debate on the 'net regarding his identity (which is still a mystery....but there have been some leaks indicating things). Knowing who he is before seeing the movie could spoil a lot.
  23. You can get the 'Dark Side' book for +-10 bucks. That book includes an Emperor minifig.
  24. This inspired me to have a SW Lego version of a popular meme: via Imgflip Meme Maker
