Thanks Albus......now I'm in doubt again Seriously; I'm gonna wait for a good deal on this set. A '20% off' deal (like last september when I got the Rancor Pit, Slave I, Sail Barge and Cantina) might do the trick. I have a limit regarding the max price of a Lego set. I did the same regarding loose minifigs on Bricklink (€ 15 is the max). When the DS is +- € 300.......who knows! PS: for me Cloud City is more iconic......still dreaming about a day where Lego announces a CC set......there wasn't a proper Kenner playset in the 80s (yeah, there was a cardboard 'set' but that wasn't CC to me) which always bugged me as a kid....and it still does

I'm a Star Wars collector. Not just Lego, but Star Wars in general. The last time I got something Star Wars that was a total surprise was back in 1983/1984 My parents ask me what I want (and I order it myself) My parents in law ask what everybody wants.....but it have to be things which are easy to get (stuff they have to order online are NOT allowed, and it has to be stuff they don't have to visit more than 2 stores for). My gf and I give ourselves a 'weekend trip' present (the kids go to grandpa and grandma....while we go shopping/relaxing in another country) While I'm typing this I have to correct myself: last time I got something Star Wars I did not expect was at Xmas 2008; my gf bought me a Nintendo Wii with The Force Unleashed game. (this was the last year we gave eachother gifts...before the mentioned 'weekend trips')

That's PT Yoda. His body print isn't OT style like this one.

Yup. Something like that. They need to make a lot of rooms: besides the ones you mentioned you forgot the incinerator where Chewie finds 3PO, Guest quarters, the Vader vs Luke duel is fought in many rooms, a walkway with elevator...... Also, Billy Dee Williams is in SW:Rebels. Maybe Cloud City as well? This way, CC sets tie-in with Rebels as well as the SW: OT. And finally, next summer may be the last time Lego can release a bunch of OT sets (since Ep7 is released in december). It's the perfect moment to release remakes of 3 LONG awaited things: Cloud City, Cloud Car, Dagobah. I wish I had a certain DeLorean (or T.A.R.D.I.S.)

The UCS TIE really put a dent in my hopes of a Cloud City in the first half of 2015. Maybe it'll be released in multiple sets (like Jabba's Palace & the Rancor pit) like other forummembers have said.

I've been offered this set for €175....the 150 you mention is also what I had in mind. Still, looking at pix the set looks kinda dated...but then again: it has jawas! I'll wait for the sellers reaction... -
LOL. I checked this (the box of the Phantom) too earlier today.....for the same reason you did. I'll wait for another set featuring Ms. Wren OR I'll BL the fig.

Gents, What would be the highest price someone should pay for a complete used Sandcrawler 10144 (the 2005 Sandcrawler) ? -
The Star Wars Character Encyclopedia......€ 10,99 at a local bookfair. Bought it for the minifig (I already have Celebration Luke and Celebration Leia); the book is a nice extra.

Well...I can't forget these 2: they have sentimental value; with these 2 I have almost every SW toy I first got 30 years ago. Back then it was Kenner, now in Lego. (Still missing are the ITT (which I’ll get in a few months) Dagobah (still waiting for a good release), Cloud Car (same as Dagobah), Ewok Village, Shuttle and the mini-rigs and the Rebel Transport (which aren’t officially released by Lego). Besides getting the Lego versions of theKenner toys I also want the minifig versions of the Kenner action figures (which is hard since 20-25 don't have a Lego incarnation). Back to the DS: I'll keep my eyes open for a good deal as I've decided I'm not gonna spend € 400. (and I've also heard FFG's Imperial Assault game is released before the end of the year.....instead of Q1 2015. If there's one thing that has top priority it's that.....along with all the upcoming expensive expansions). Thanks for the advice tho!

I won't wait 10 years. I know.

I'm giving this thread a kick since I'm in doubt if I should get this set. It's either this set (for +-400)......or get the new AT-AT (+-100) and Star Destroyer (+-100) and have another 200 to spend on the winter wave/Bricklink. I've been collecting SW since the early 80s, but only started this year with SW Lego (and grabbed quite a few sets and some loose minifigs). My SW collecting focus is now (besides non-fiction books, the upcoming Imperial Asault boardgame) Lego. My biggest concerns regarding the DS are: -the Death Star minifigs are kinda outdated plus I have newer versions of almost every fig included. -the design of the walls seems blocky instead of round. (I bet thats beause some newer parts weren't available back in 2008?) -it's a whopping 400!!!!! For 1 toy! In over 30 years I have never ever spent that on a single NEW toy. -I love Cloud City. I adore Cloud City. I want Cloud City. If Lego should release a Cloud City set Death Star style I'd get it and I wouldn't need someone to convince me. So....why do I have the feeling that when I get the Death Star set it'll retire in a few months and Lego announced a Cloud City set??? -If I don't get the set.....and it retires......maybe I'll regret it......(or maybe I won't) Arrrghhh...it's killing me! What do you guys think?? PS: while going trough some old pics I found a few of my gf and me at the Lego store in Florida in 2008. I shot some pix of the DS back then Never thought I'd be collecting Lego 6 years later! Also, there's a pic of me standing in front of a wall of sets including the Imperial Landing Craft. I wish I could go back in a time machine and get that set!

My 75052 Cantina needed more aliens, so I Bricklinked the Ithorian (AKA Momaw Nadon)
-
I think 'Rise of the Old Masters' was the best yet.....and I liked al of them. This one was so good, I'm thinking of getting [spoiler ALERT!!!!] the TIE Advanced set because the Inquisitor is included.

No...that's the price you pay for having 2 kids ;) . I was at FACTS/Ghent when it was posted. Thats why I missed it.
-
Where and when was it posted the new UCS is a TIE? Also, the new UCS will be released mid-2015 I think? Isn't it way to early to know 'for sure'? A big mofo set with everything (incl a Cloud Car) is a wet dream. I need Cloud City (and Dagobah, and a Bantha).

1) Not gonna get that one, but good for the VIPs 2) I hope not.......keeping my fingers crossed for Cloud City! 3) Good. I don't have the od set and I;m not gonna get a new version but I hate scalpers and a rerelease will hopefully make the old version less in demand.

That's why I'm glad we moved last year. Rooms for the kids and a Star Wars room/mancave. Regarding dioramas: there was also a giant Hoth dio. Regarding SW Lego for sale: there were some stands that had a couple of boxes. There was also one stand that had a good selection (thats where I got Ewok attack & Battle of ENdor) along with loose minifigs. There was also a stand where they were selling opened boxes; those sets were missing the minifigs. I also saw a stand where they had old SW sets without box and without figs. The bricks were in plastic bags.
-
Well.....back in the early 80's I had NO idea what the minirigs were.....those vehicles weren't in the movies and/or the comics. Still; it was STAR WARS and I had to have them.

Some pix from the event:

Nope,,,,didn't see it. Only UCS I saw for sale was the Sandcrawler. I did see an unboxed 7166 shuttle though.
