  1. Wow! Great to see it all finished. I really love the base and the fact that the Phantom is minifig scale (unlike the set one...) is amazing! If this Phantom was a set, I'd buy it over the official one! ~Beltar
  2. Lovely entry, great work! And now I feel like I've officially lost this Category...! The classic pirate build really reminds me of some the older pirate sets. ~Beltar
  3. Thanks! I really wanted to keep them very similar, so I see what you mean by it's a little to piratey, but they are Space Islanders, so they aren't that advanced...Also, perhaps I will add a price per piece ratio... And make it look more like a review with more info later. Thanks! I went for an 80s or old style look, I even considered using yellow plates for the sand instead of tan! ~Beltar
  4. Phew! Finished this in time because my partner for Cat B didn’t have time to finish it so he gave it to me to finish. Comparison photos between the builds will be in the 2nd post. I also was so glad when it was 275 parts because I forgot that it had to be under 700. And onto the build, review style! SSSS- Octopus Asteroid Outpost No one knows when this set was release, but it seems to be a variation of set PPPP half way down this post. The set doesn't have any play features, but let’s get to it. Set: SSSS Name: Octopus Asteroid Outpost Theme: LEGO System / Pirates / Islanders/Space Year: Unknown Pieces: 275 Minifigs: 3 + Octopus Price: $29.99 About .10 cents per part, not a bad price. There is no box known to exist. Overview of the set: This pic just shows everything that the set includes. Minifigs: I have to say, I love the castaways bubble helmet and the male Asteroider. The female Asteroider is very odd to me but I guess Lego I didn't have a good enough head for her. And the octopus: Just a normal ‘space’ octopus. Nothing special here. Castaways Vehicle: I really like the design for this, it appears to be a crowsnest from a larger spacecraft, and it runs on fuel, so he will probably run out of that fast… Asteroid Ship: Really reminds me of the Asteroider Trading Catamaran that Lego I produced. And also resembles the boat in the 2nd post in a spacey way. The set without anything extra. The Final Tally Design: 9/10 Great design overall, but lacks the playablity of a normal set. Parts: 9/10 Most parts are very usefull, but they are still a bit basic. Minifigs: 8/10 Two Asteroiders, one of which, is great, while the female one’s face is a little weird. The pirate is probably my favorite minifig from this set, I just really like him. And the special space octopus…very enjoyable. Playability: 9/10 Still fun to play with, even with no actual features. It can entertain you longer than you think! Overall: 35/40 Overall, a great set! Definitely worth buying building! More Pictures: =================================================================================================================================== PPPP- Octopus Island Outpost No one knows when this set was release, but it seems to be a variation of set SSSS in the 1st post. The set doesn’t have any play features, but let’s get to it. Set: PPPP Name: Octopus Island Outpost Theme: LEGO System / Pirates / Islanders/ Year: Unkown Pieces: 204 Minifigs: 3 + Octopus Price: $24:99 About .12 cents per part, more than the other one! Still pretty good though... There is no box known to exist. Overview: Overview of the set with everything according to what I would think the box art looks like. Minifigs: I really like these minifigs, just for the classic pirates vibe they give. Though, there appears to be a CMF in it making it appear to be a very recent set… + The ‘special normal’ octopus… Castaway's Vessel: It’s a pretty average castaway crows nest, but still it’s a great part of the set. Islanders Boat: Overview of the boat. It really looks like the Enchanted Island boat, but it still has its differences. The Final Tally Design: 9/10 Great design overall, but lacks the playablity of a normal set. Parts: 9/10 Most parts are very useful, but they are still a bit basic. Minifigs: 8/10 Two Islanders, both of them are great! Really remind me of the old sets. The pirate is your average castaway pirate, nothing too special. + The special normal octopus…! Playability: 9/10 Still fun to play with, even with no actual features. It can entertain you longer than you think! Overall: 44/50 Overall, a great set! Definitely worth buying building! Comparison Pictures: Islander statue has 'ears' because the helmet has ears, but on the Asteroid helmet, the helmet doesn't have ears, and that's why the statue doesn't have 'ears' either. More Pics: I will add one more pic of both builds together tomorrow! C & C welcome! ~Beltar
  5. Great Build! Creative use of parts in some areas. It appear rancors are misunderstood, they are not monsters, but apparently very intelligent creatures . Also, is that a skeleton inside of the bookshelf...? ~Beltar
  6. I'm entering CAT B with a friend... Though, do you ever get that feeling, that moment when you notice...that theres a week left and your package with an important piece hasn't arrived... Also is it ok to enter B with someone outside eurobricks? Still teamwork , he agreed to do it as long as I give him one of the prizes if we win. (duh) Cat C is getting many new great entries! Too bad mine is definitely not going to get far, 1 comment. (Though, there was a discussion in SoNE about comments and quality so I'm holding out hope that people like it ) ...People don't appear to like Space Islanders. ~Beltar
  7. Awwwwwww..... Looks like Eslandola for me then... ^ With Eslandola, at least with that I can interact with them for freebuilds and challenges, as said above, thats fine I guess. So I'll be heading down that route to trade, be an ally, etc. So I guess that solves it, however if they do become a faction...Count me in! ~Beltar
  8. For the above answer of being able to start out at a high rank, here's a question on that: Since I want to be an Islander, I assume I should start out at say a warrior or a townsperson rather than the king? Like, I'd have to work my way up to a 'higher' position if we have an XP type thing. Just so I don't feel waaay overpowered, because starting as a king seems to be a bit awkward because of the 'power' a king has. And also, updates every two weeks sounds good to me! ~Beltar
  9. Thanks! I tried to include as many references and looks of the old set while still adding the spacey twist on it. And as soon as I saw that curved piece in my bricks, I knew it would work. ~Beltar
  10. Well, finally got around to taking pictures. I was originally thinking about entering this to Category B, but I read all of the thread and you can’t make a Space Piratey set based of an official one. So I just decided to make an Asteroider’s Trading/Transport Catamaran Ship: Overview with fig Overview without fig Another side angle The Republic Logo here represents the Drum from the original set, but here I assume it could be like a trading crest or something. I tried to include as many references to the original set as possible. + a lot of mods though. Also, this whole center piece would be the hyperdrive for the actual ship, and inside, it would connect to the engines. Yes, he does sit awkwardly, but I came up with a solution, he pilots it “Umbaran’’ Style from Star Wars the Clone Wars. And the back angle. That’s all the pics! It's not exactly the most original thing, and not as great as some the boat ships entered already, but might as well try! Hope you like it! C&C welcome! ~Beltar
  11. So I'm planning on entering Cat C and B if I can, but I'm going Islanders style on them, and Islanders have well, canoes, and my Cat C and B would kinda be related...on the 'Space' aspect. Is that ok or should I change my idea for Cat B entirely because it would be too similar? Either way, my Cat C entry should be posted by Friday. (Hopefully) ~Commander Beltar
  12. Fantastic MOC! The sand effect must have taken awhile to get right. (For me it would) Also I really love the smoke and the damage on the TIE!
  13. These are great Oky! There are so many puns and jokes possible with Chopper and Vision.... ~Beltar
  14. I decided to make a new fig in place of Camhau, because I didn't like him that much and thought that I should have at least one brick built fig in this. And now, Shoot N Loot is born! ~Beltar
  15. Awww. Islanders are not in the options . Is there a possibility to be one? If not then I'd have to go with Corrington, but I'd really like to be an Islander... ~Beltar
  16. Nice build! We Imperials have a way of getting information even if the information is wrong.. by torture, or if the situation calls for it, blowing up a planet...... I like the wall and door. I agree with GuyDudeMan, the torture machine looks nice, but it doesnt fit in with the smoothness of the build. Overall, the build is great! ~Beltar
  17. I've been watching this topic for a long while, and I certainly like the idea. There are a lot of good ideas floating around this thread. Perhaps start the actual main wip info thread, then have one poster per member to give their suggestions and only suggestions in the comments? Then the mods can review some of them when they can and see if the idea can or can't be added to it. And if there are islanders when it launches...count me in for sure! ~Beltar
  18. Thanks! Its from Alpha Team, here's the bl link: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3626bpb0091 I'm not sure if I should change Kamahou's face to something simpler. ~Beltar
  19. I thought I might aswell make a brick built fig for this, so I removed Camhau because he was least spacey one to me. And Shoot N Loot takes his place! And onto the pics: Space Pirates Group Shot by EB: Commander Beltar, on Flickr Group Shot The Good: A.K.A Imperial Space Armada Space Pirates by EB: Commander Beltar, on Flickr Imperial Officer John Smith As a member of the Imperial Space Armada, John Smith strives to end all piracy throughout the Caribbean Galaxy. He is an expert swordsman and spy who infiltrates organizations and stops piracy. He has had many run-ins with The Red 3 Four and Astroiders. The Bad: A.K.A The Red Three Four Space Pirates by EB: Commander Beltar, on Flickr Captain Gold Hook. Gold Hook was a mere peasant working at a factory that produced weapons, ships, and supplies for the Imperial Space Armada. His life changed one faithful day when there was an explotion at the factory, forcing an amputation of his right leg and his left hand. That day, he swore that he would take revenge on the ISA and the Galaxy itself as a pirate. Space Pirates by EB: Commander Beltar, on Flickr Navigator Pete Pete was an ISA officer for many years, he had been the Star Cadet and was awarded best navigator for three years straight. He eventually toured an ISA’s factory, but on the day he visited, the explotion happened, damaging his face, and costing his leg. Hook and he where placed in the same hospital room, where they plotted to get their revenge. Space Pirates by EB: Commander Beltar, on Flickr Strong-Arm, Treasure-Hoarder, Back-Stabbin’ Jim Jim was a captain of an ISA transport ship that took all kinds of goods from relief supplies to weapons of mass destruction. On what Jim thought would be an average transport job, changed his life. The explosion at the ISA factory had blown off his arms, injured his legs and scarred his head. Both Pete and Hook where in the same hospital room and he joined in the vow of revenge. Jim also loves to tinker with electronics, and always thinks of himself as an inventor. One day, the Red Three stole an Imperial Cannon and he created Shoot N Loot, making them the Red Four. Space Pirates by EB: Commander Beltar, on Flickr But Shoot N Loot can transform into a double barrel cannon! Space Pirates by EB: Commander Beltar, on Flickr Shoot 'N Loot Shoot loves to well, shoot things, was a former double barrel Imperial Cannon till Jim brought them to live with tools. Loot, instead of loving to shoot things, he loves his loot, he loves treasure above all. A funny thing about these two, they have never actually seen each others face eye to eye. If you can't tell, Shoot has a red eye, and loot has a green eye. The Ugly? Asderoider: Space Pirates by EB: Commander Beltar, on Flickr King Kamahou Kamahou is an Asderoider raised on one of the many asteroid belts around the Caribbean Galaxy. He was born the son King Kumhou who raised him as a normal boy. He received his enchanted staff in the aftermath of a battle from his dying father. He promised his father that he would use it wisely to stop evil-doers. Old 6th Character: Prince Camhau Camhau is the son of Kamahou, he was raised the same way as his father, and after years of training, took command of his Asteroids ‘Grand’ Army. They fought many other tribes and one under his command. But he could not defeat Gold Hook’s Gang when they came to loot their asteroid. That's it for now, I will most likely edit the figs and repost them later! ~Beltar
  20. Great moc! I love the humor and the moc itself is great. As a side note.. would the pizza be rotten? ~Beltar
  21. Does it detect sound waves? or something along those lines? ~Beltar
  22. If we enter Category A, are we allowed edit a fig or create a new one in place of one before the deadline passes? It says in the post that MOCs are considered wips, but what about the minifigs. ~Beltar
  23. It's a Virus! They're not classified as alive yet, so it fits that, and they are on basically every surface. Viruses also need a cell to reproduce. ~Beltar I'm not sure what type of virus it is though...
  24. I'm interested in joining the PM group, as I should be able to participate in is episode. ~Beltar
  25. This is an interesting idea for an episode! Looks like I will be hunting the galaxy for the best podracer and pilot out there! Two questions about betting though: 1, Does every player cast a bet? and 2, The 'ranking' is basically where we try to predict who will get the most points/xp from the judges? ~Beltar
