"If he had been a Munchkin, I'd have described him the same way." "True, but you have to keep in mind just who's claiming to follow someone. A person's followers can say a lot about that person. It all has to be taken with a big spoonful of salt, but still..."

I know what you mean, and there have been agendas in Heroica that have been mildly against my own views, but that's a cost of living in today's world.
-
But that's because that's what people do in the real world. In the real world, nearly everyone thinks that their side is the best, because to them it seems to be, and they cite reasons as to why it is.
-
True, but most of them have a name that's slightly different. It's just sub-conscious correlation. Or maybe not. That would be Forestmen, or Dark Forest. (Dark Forest even had "Rob N. Hood - although he was portrayed as a villain.) Ooh, link, link!

"He wasn't a washed-up werekin with no pride or honor."

*raises hand* The Nnjago Empire quest I'm working on would have featured Wolfgang in that light - well, a slightly different light, but close enough. Because this way, we get invested in the game, and keep coming back. I think that stems from the fact that the Wolfgang is the only faction based on an actual LEGO theme - and the Wolfgang were typically villains. But those are the awesomest ones...
-
"I've only met one crowd of the Wolfgang, but their leader certainly wasn't charismatic..."
-
"...That would probably explain the part about attacking his own party..."The Munchkin tilted his head and looked with curiosity towards the monk.
-
Agreed. There are good people in the Wolfgang, but the leadership and structure of it is such that it is not a good plan for Eubric.
-
"Well, he's the one talking about things in his head he had no control over - it's not that hard an inference. And to be fair, it's something we all struggle with, there's no shame in the struggle."Lind cupped his hand, and whispered in a very loud whisper. "Occasionally, I've heard rumors that even women struggle with it - but that's probably just crazy talk..." Hearing the pain in the monk's voice, the black knight instantly dropped any trace of frivolity, and his face took on a serious tone. "Is this...is this between just you two, or does this have broader ramifications? Because if it's the first, then I'll be the first to give you privacy, but if it's the second, with the leadership of Heroica in flux, there probably isn't a better location for this..."

EDIT: Sorry, computer misposted.

It could be there to give more power to the people running for king - if they can hand out titles, it gives them a little influence beyond, "Hey, dude, we're totally friends, wanna vote for me?".Lind's campaign is based solely on the principle of meritocracy. Titles will be given out based on actual merit, not as trophies. You want a title? Be an awesome and strong player. We're not groveling for votes. We will campaign vigorously and annoyingly, but our campaign will take the high ground in all matters. True...

Actually, that hasn't been stated in the rules at any point. Currently the only things promised to the King...are...that they're King. There's been no declaration or clarification of what in-game powers would be given them. The only candidate so far to promise any promises* to the players is Lind, who's promised to create a cabinet of the wisest Heroes to consult with. *Which they can definitely keep. (Also, any promises at all, but it's the first that's the most important.)

"...So...If I'm following this right... ...?"
-
True. Like France, which I'm pretty sure a lot of the Ulric story is based on. Where everyone rose up, killed all the nobles, overthrew the established order, and quickly fell into chaos. Criminals can be idealists too. But they're still criminals. Ulric isn't Robin Hood - and even Robin was technically a criminal. Because no one that's Wolfgang can be king - they're there to make up for that fact. And because Ulric's been promising to give heroes power in his organization. Which two?
-
"-...and did you know that you have a stool about to bash you on the head?"
-
The black knight continued talking. "The only thing was, none of us could agree on anything - very little organization. One of us even tried to join the other side - most frustrating, although we got along all right in the end. You just start to think, though - someone's got to get some form of order going among the heroes. Whether it's uniting everyone under a pair of kings, or some sort of...private group, shall we say - we need some order...some sort of safe-guards..."

Phew - the cheapest(and only) MISB set with Dark Bluish Gray is $80+. Black will be a lot cheaper... In other news, would anyone be willing to be a character witness for me, and validate that "His hero's crazy, but his character's actor has most of his NXT Bricks plugged in right*."? There's a LEGO-related forum I'm thinking of applying to be a moderator for, and I'm a little short on references**. *(Even if he does insist that Time Cruisers was an awesome theme and that pirates are more awesome than ninjas. ) **It's not a prerequisite, and I have been there since the forum opened, but I haven't been a terribly heavy poster, so having some references would be helpful...

Nice. We really need an equipment chart for Dragons. I mean, I understand why it's been listed as an Accessory...but I just can't see a dragon rider walking around carrying a saddle...*Something like: One problem is that it would stack on top of the already pretty powerful class, creating a potential imbalance situation...But if dragons were real, people would gear them up. It's just what would happen, and not having a way for that to happen just makes it feels like something's missing... *Yes, I know, "If you can fly, why would you ever walk?", but you get the point... **Like a Dragon version of Accessories

MDM: Nice helm - where'd it drop from? Endgame: Looking at this picture: I suddenly realized that the Netherwings aren't black. What color did you use for them? The closest color they were produced in seems to be New Dark Bluish Grey...
-
OoC: They're dragon wings: I'm just using LoC Raven wings until I have a pair of black/new dark grey dragon wings.

"Well put.Thormanil..." The black knight leaned his head back and thought. "I quested with him once, a very great time ago, but I can't remember having run into him since then. But he might have been here and I'd missed him - I've been a bit busy lately. Little matter in Moone with a dragon - usual sort of thing, nice party, although I'd advise you to keep an eye out for the new Moone Elf hero - she can be...very opinionated, and I've been trying to run for office, so...you can see how it all starts to add up. Any messages you'd like me to share with him, if I run into him before you do?"

I'm afraid I've never read them - my (hard) fantasy fiction consists primarily of Lebier and Tolkien. To answer your question, he's holding a staff. It's what kind of staff he's holding, that's the real question...
