  1. "Smeg, she's back..."
  2. "Aw, don't start crying," the black knight said comfortingly. "We'll get going eventually. And you'll get back to your wife.Heck, if you want to get in contact with her now, though, you might try sending her a Z-Mail." The black knight frowned as he thought of the blank Mail that was currently in his pocket.
  3. "That's the sum of it," the black knight called across the room."We might be sitting here for a few more weeks yet."
  4. "Because I want to hear both sides of the issue." He held up a hand, before Karie could counter. "Back on Moone, I was following a contract, and whatever government Faust had set up, it was better than the slaughter that Vorpalis was engaged in. Faust wasn't right...but neither was Vorpalis, and we were all contracted to Faust. Here, there's no contract, I'm just honestly curious about who I have entered into a mutual loan-type deal with."
  5. "Actually, this is considered a pleasant evening." Lind followed and sat down a couple of seats away. "Just out of curiosity, why's he slime? Not saying he is, or he isn't, just curious why..."
  6. "Right, then."Lind loans Johon his Anniversary Medal (+4 Health, +4 Power, +4 SP, +4 Ether, Immune to Fire; accessory, suitable for anyone) and gives him his Tweetybird (Flying 1) and his Mud Frog (Rock 2) , in exchange for Johon loaning him his Gladius (WP: 16, darkness-elemental greatsword, 1/3 chance of causing Fragile on successful hits). Lind carefully tucked the sword at his side, and looped his Mugger's Mask around his neck.
  7. The black knight chuckled. "Take a breath, doctor. I've been here five weeks since my last quest.Good conversation is rare, and should be enjoyed. When you're out on the quest, it's nothing but long musings on the morality of your actions. Here, you have a chance for actual conversation." OoC: Two more days till the listed cut-off date, with the chance of it being stretched out a bit more if the QM decides. "And outside it as well. My first quest was on a one-night quest that lasted months..."
  8. We're short a ...
  9. "It's not that ridiculous a concept. You're the actress and the face, Warlen's the pyromaniacal unstoppable mage, and I'm the meat shield and wild card.""Anyways, are you thinking of signing up for the plants quest? I can't decide if I should resign from it or not. I mean, it is work - but something better might come along in the interim..."
  10. "If you mount a gem in your gear, you can absorb certain attacks from certain enemies.Don't ask..." "Someone you really fight well with, or with whom you really make a good team."
  11. "We have a bit of a disagreement on that last point, but glad to hear it.""Speaking of Warlen, you, and I slowly becoming bash buddies, is there anything you need from Crescent? I'm guessing with your minstrel rig - very nice, by the way - you're probably not going to be signing on with them, and since we're sort of bash buddies, the special Bash Buddy discount applies... 1/2 off mark-up, discount rounded up."
  12. "Well then, we clearly need you to enlighten us with your wise wisdom, so next time we'll be even better. If we could fool an entire squadron of suspicious guards with our performance, imagine what we could do with your tutelage."
  13.      :laugh_hard: :laugh_hard: :iamded_lol: :iamded_lol: :iamded_lol: :iamded_lol: :iamded_lol: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:
  14. "One moment..." Lind Whisperer left the Hall. Lind returned to the Hall. "Right, then, I've got a map of Olegia here, so you can just point out where Gladoria is, and refresh any memory lapses on my part...?"
  15. Just wanted to say again, Flipz, your small print on that Z-Mail is hilarious.
  16. A frequent visitor to the Library scurried in. "Pardon me." "...Do you ever actually go on quests, or do you just visit the Library constantly?" "Yes." "..." "Right...Anyways, could I check out a map...say on a semi-permanent basis?" "I'm almost afraid to ask..." "Just of the world." "...That may be the only time someone's said "just of the world," and not sounded entirely arrogant." "Thank you!" "...Wasn't a compliment." "Right...Anyways, can I have one?" *sigh* "...I suppose..." He hands Lind a Map of Olegia. "Thank you, have a nice day!" Lind leaves the library. "With a certain person leaving, it just got 90% nicer..."
  17. "...I was querying as to where Gladoria is located."
  18. The black knight gently threw up his hands. "If he'd rather buy one, that's his choice. I was just trying to be helpful." "That bit where it was just you, me, and Warlen? We were brilliant together. We loo-We respectfully paid a respectful tribute to those poor deceased heroes - right in front of a bunch of guards that were looking for our party - and then, we got those guards to let us into the very city they were supposed to be keeping us out of. You can't honestly tell me that wasn't a beautiful display of teamwork. Sure, the early bit of the quest had its rough patches - but you can't work together as seamlessly as we did without our having developed a real synergy."
  19. "No, she ran into her parents parents. And she was a bit loose with a Sniper in our party, so I imagine he's on decent enough terms with her - assuming she wasn't quite so annoying during...well, you can finish that thought." "Well, it does offer an emerald - not the worst gem to add to your arsenal." The black knight reached into his pack, and gently set his Ruby on his palm, carefully tossing it a short way up into the air. "If we're part of the same party, I can probably loan you this for the duration. Free, free sort of loan," he added. "You should be able to set up some fairly tall flames with this, and plants don't seem to like that sort of thing terribly much..." "Hey, I worked with the party, I just don't always get along with everyone. You can work with a party, without getting along with them. Although, towards the end, I did think we were all starting to warm up to each other, a bit."
  20. "I suppose..." The black knight frowned, then shrugged."Are you going to sign up for the new quest?"
  21. "And we were the people trying to save her homeland. There's tough, and there's just plain flat-out refusing to work with the party..."
  22. "Hmm...I can't place it. One of the Low Kingdoms?" "Be glad you weren't on her last quest. What you're describing sounds like a stroll through Triad Park in comparison..."
  23. "Ah, a necromancer, then? I don't really hold with their sort of thinking. Let the dead rest in peace, I say..." "Which country would that be, then?"
  24. Ooc: Which table are Ezeran and Torald at? The main one, or a private one?
  25. "Welcome back. We're just discussing politics. How'd the quest go? Something about bones, I believe it was - and there was something about hats?" "He's about five, in all departments," the black knight whispered to her from behind his hand.
