Heroica RPG - Quest #143: Making Amends
Lind Whisperer replied to Endgame's topic in The Heroica Archive
OoC: Thanks. Smiling with pleasure, Lind reached out his hand to shake Gabriel's. "Aye-aye, Captain Gabriel. Lind Whisperer, reporting for duty."He grinned. "Or should I call you sir? It's great to see you again, either way." "Black's always the right choice." "Intriguing! Please continue." "Well, as a gift for making up for lost time, I'd say that's a pretty good one.So - I gathered from the description that you had a specific seller in mind. Could you fill us all in with a few more details?" -
Heroica RPG - Quest #143: Making Amends
Lind Whisperer replied to Endgame's topic in The Heroica Archive
OoC: For the sake of continuity, can I assume that Pretzel purchased Lind the Boots, and join in? We're already 10 posts in, and what must be a least a large portion of the primary exposition has already been covered... -
"Arrgg. Fine." Lind hands a Remedy, a Mead, three Potions, and 31 gold to Monk Pretzel. "Sell 'em in the Marketplace, and use the money to buy a pair of Swift Boots. 15 percent discount, I believe you said, so this should just cover it, with one gold over." OoC: 10/2 = 5 gold, 20/2 = 10 gold, (15 gold), 5/2 = 2 gold, x3 = 21 gold.
-
"Excellent." Lind stood up, and waved his hands for attention. "Attention! Whisperer's Wonderful Wares will be closing very shortly. If you want Crescent Union wares, at a guaranteed low mark-up, you better buy now. Also, could anyone loan me 20 gold?" OoC: Swift Boots. I've got 31 gold, and Pretzel's discount brings them down to 51 gold.
-
"Good deduction."Lind leaned back, and surveyed the board.

Ooh, how much longer does #130 have on it? Imagine having Lind, Jinnipher, and Heckz on a quest together.... That'd either be hilarious...or a nightmare.

I suppose. I did end up liking Atlantis. The thing is, Ninjago, Atlantis, and Chima all took their story seriously. Sure, there were joking bits, sure there was comic relief - but there was a real story to back them, and it showed in the advertisements. Here, all I'm seeing the advertising media say is, "Hey, look at our totally radical knights, and their craaaaaaazy adventures! LOL, isn't this theme totally craaaaazy, and totally raaaaaad?" It could just be me, I suppose, and maybe they'll turn a 180 - but so far, based on what I have seen, and even taking into account past themes... I buy solely based on story, or by parts. Very, very rarely do I buy a set just based on its build. Actually, Ninjago's story did promise to be, and bids fair to be more riveting than Nexo's. Nexo's is very loose, and silly, without anything solid to it, whereas Ninjago's story, although it did have elements of comic relief, had a solid core. *Ninjago Agreed. I'm not a fan of 1/2 the knights, and the enemies, but new robots are always a welcome addition. The same way Wreck-Gar does.

I thought I was going to be a Kintobor Kid there for a while, but I went on #138 and broke the pattern. I know - at least one Zepher quest is a mandatory requisite for Heroicans, and the loot WBD drops(as well as the incredible builds*!)... Not that Endgame's loot isn't pretty sweet itself. *looks lovingly at the Netherwings*  Nice! Make sure to share a link with us, if you post in in the Trains forum/MOCpages/etc.! *I've had to stop myself from copying and pasting about 85% of the #132 pictures into here. They were awesome.

"Yes, and a pretty good one, too. Any reason why you ask?"
-
"It wasn't me that told him, but if I remember, from the state of your stomach - back around the time we first met - it was pretty obvious that you were in at least some sort of a relationship. How'd that go, anyways? Boy or girl?" "He wasn't that taken with Jinnipher."
-
Gotcha. That makes sense. If I have Internet, I'm sticking around for Judgement Day, you bet your Adamantium Shards.     Totally.
-
"Comes with being a Munchkin." "Welcome to the crew." "Well, sort of welcome...You know what I mean." "He probably does. Gabriel's a good man - good stuff to him"
-
"Also..." Lind squinted at the board, and laughed. "You probably won't be signed because of the part where you haven't signed. I hadn't signed yet, because I'm picky, but you-" He kept laughing, as he signed up for #143. "-you're talking as if you were going to be picked for sure, when you haven't even signed up."
-
No, just Kheyli, Monk Pretzel, and Calamity. Karie isn't signing, because... I'm honestly not sure. The quest does seem like it'd be fitting - but maybe Kinto isn't playing because of RP issues? But, no, Jinnipher's apparently failed to sign up. Looking over my schedule...If it's just four weeks, I think I can safely commit to it. I'm pretty safe for the first three, at least - not sure about beyond that...Of course, at the rate we went through #138, rocketing through a four week quest so the total time is cut down to 3 weeks doesn't seem quite as crazy as it might have before #138. *round of applause to Endgame and his '733t' posting.* (Seriously, you were awesome with updates on that quest.

The black knight shook his head. "Bit disappointed. And here I was thinking I wasn't just talking to another over-eager, over-confident mage. Silly me."
-
"I'm saying, no one's guaranteed to be selected until after the list's been posted. With our luck, we'd probably both get picked, but no guarantees. And with only 70 gold as a reward, it sounds more like he's trying to hire a...newer class of heroes, like our local Death Mage, or Terrance." "Have a good one."
-
Not mine. I'll probably get a couple of them, but the world isn't as worth investing in as Ninjago's was. Ninjago, even during its first year, had a definite storyline that made sense. This...this is basically(and literally*) a LEGO fan mashup of two different themes, released "because it looks cool". It's flashy, but I don't like the marketing, and the story does not interest me enough to invest beyond a few purchases for parts.*Spastle.

Lind nodded. "What she said." "Hey, she's the one bragging. I'm just challenging her to prove it." "Who says you're coming along?"
-
Excellent.

      I don't know if I saw your post before or after you edited it, but I believe I read it very shortly after it was posted, and I didn't think it was "d*ckish" at all. Perhaps the faintest bit sarcastic, but you were speaking as one who had had professional experience with the topic, in response to someone who was only hypothesizing about the topic.

Question: Just for definite clarification, are bombs counted as "physical attacks," or not?
-
I suddenly realized that Calamity only had one gem.
-
"And you know what? I'll even loan you my Ruby for the fight, since I'm pretty sure I'm immune to anything you can fling out of that Amethyst of yours."
-
Thank you.I was actually serious, though - I've PM'd K-Nut and Scubacarrot about a quick turn in the Arena. No stat boosts, attacks ignore defense, and Calamity can attack twice without Lind counter-attacking, and can re-roll either of them if she misses/rolls special damage. Attacks are directly based off of Class rules, and "Damage/Special Damage" is treated as a Miss(The last one is actually there for Calamity's benefit, not Lind's - otherwise, Lind could keep chugging potions and repeat #122's punch-out, where Matthias KO'd himself .)
-
I know what you mean. I've had to miss every non-PC game because of that. (Although for me it's more a refusal to pay outrageous sums for multiple systems that I don't need.) LEGO City: Undercover, Shadow of Ronin, every DS game, LEGO Dimensions...
