After what was chronologically hours, but strangely felt like days ( ), hoof-beats suddenly sounded on the road, and two more figures rode into sight. The white-haired one completely ignored the heroes, shouting out in no particular direction: "Merry! Kangaroo-face! Where are you two s-" Unfortunately, his voice was drowned out momentarily by a convenient rock-slide, echoing out from somewhere far further down the canyon. "-at? And where's Cole's reception?!"

Speaking from my own(limited, obviously) experience so far, I'd say it's just about balanced. Stealing loot isn't such a great ability to have over stealing gold, since I think most players add what they loot to the main loot, but it does at least give you an edge in bartering for which pieces you'd like(assuming, like in #122, you've looted some decent drops that you don't want). Well put, and thank you.

How is asking for the consideration of a rename me trying to "shoe-horn" the game? If Sandy does not think the change is a good choice, then I accept that decision.
-
The problem is directly caused through the title of a role, which makes it a game mechanics issue.
-
I am frustrated with it, yes, because I kept receiving comments about how my character was "showing his cowardly side," etc., etc, when in fact Lind(at least in this particular case), if it were possible per game mechanics, would have tried to soak up all damage, rather than any of the rest of party be injured in what he considered "his" fight. I personally think that Dodge over Hide would be a better choice in general. In #131, Bobby rolled several Hides - but his character isn't one to hide, so I referred to it as dodging in the flavor text.
-
Could we change Black Knights 4 roll from Hide to Dodge? It still fits the idea of Corrupted, but it's more adaptable to RP. You can hide while dodging, but a hide is never a dodge.

^Seconded.

Heroica RPG- Quest #122: Invasion of the Sheep Snatchers
Lind Whisperer replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I know what you mean - clothing really does make a man. Or woman. Or Master Fighter...You get my point." "Please tell me they won't be showing up here too..." the Munchkin muttered under his breath. "Now, if I can just blend in with the crowd-" Oh, bother. "Wait, wait!" The Munchkin held up his hands warningly, and stepped back. "Much as I'd love that, the situation changed somewhat. During the skirmish, I had to fight with a, well...rather...shall we say, "unpleasant," individual. Now, I wouldn't like to suggest anything ill of the presumably dead, but her face...well, let's just say, normal, healthy humans, don't quite resemble what she looked like. And I was unfortunately right beside her when she, well...Got blasted off to greener pastures, shall we say. I'm quite certain I'll be all right - Munchkin doctors aren't bad at healing certain, eh, unique deseases - but if she had one - and I tell you, she did not look like a normal healthy human to me - I very probably shouldn't be coming into, eh, "contact" with anyone until I've been checked out. The way she looked - I would not like to wish that upon anyone." -
Why do I get the feeling this is inspired by the kiss I gave Annie in the hall... Now to figure out how to talk my way out of it...

Pelly's Paradise Day One: Huh?
Lind Whisperer replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
My thoughts on all of the current candidates: Walter Kovac: I'm getting the strongest scum read from him that I've gotten from anyone. But since he revealed his role, and the helmet is worth keeping in-game, I'm not voting for him tonight. JackJonesPaw: I really think he just made an honest oversight. Stickfig: I hadn't really noticed him until everyone else pointed out that he's mostly posted fluff. Reading all of it over, I am suspicious of him...but at least he's been posting, unlike: fhomess: One post(Unless there's been a second that I missed, which I doubt). That's just not helpful. Stickfig has been posting fluff, but I get the feeling it's more just that he doesn't really have much to add. Vote: Iron Patriot(fhomess) -

"What I don't understand, is why they were after sheep. If they have some sort of weakness to sheep, then why steal them?" The Black Knight shrugged. "Perhaps they were attempting to create some sort of remedy to the weakness - but still... Something is off." "Of course." The Black Knight handed the Crescent Shield and Chaotic Whip back to their owner, and equipped the Plasma Shield and Invader's Armor in their place(removing his Akrone Fez). "No, the greater story definitely isn't. But this chapter of it is." -
Pelly's Paradise Day One: Huh?
Lind Whisperer replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
After thinking it over more - not really any, other than that I still like his logic. But there's not enough to any of his posts to get enough of a town-read to justify voting him as vig.I'm switching my vote to Brickelodeon alone - I am getting enough of a town-read off of her/him(?) to justify that. Also, pre-sign me up for the next Mafia School. I clearly need it. Or more sleep. Probably both. I was saying that I was afraid I was being subconsciously influenced by the fact I admire him as a Heroica player, not that I was basing it off of my experiences with him in regards to Heroica... -

Pelly's Paradise Day One: Huh?
Lind Whisperer replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
That's a good question...I like the logic he's used when he's posted. And Tamo(who's already put his neck out claiming vig) thought he'd be a good choice also. Come to think of it, though, there's a chance there may be some trust stemming from that he's one of the most responsible Heroicans on the sub-board. I may need to rethink my vote, make sure there isn't any influence from that department... Just for reference, one of the reasons I haven't gotten as strong a read off of you as I'd like is because your posts have tended to be a little on the "agreeing" side, rather than on the "adding new thoughts to the mix" side. Not that that's bad, it just doesn't give me as much to work with. -

The Black Knight helped Sorsha search for her hat. "As I've never said before, if the night ends with a big explosion, you know it's been a great night. And quest," he called towards the others. -
The man in the white hat looked long and hard towards Annienal, before turning and looking at his companion. "Do you think - hypothetically - if we started riding now, we could make it to the edges of the desert before Cole-" "-We'd need to start right now, and he'd already be chasing us by the time we make it halfway-" "-But we'd have a bit of a head start-" "-A bit, nothing more-" "-But even so-" "-We might just make it." The two looked at each other for a moment...then nodded in agreement. "Love to stay and chat, but Cole isn't going to be the friendliest person when we don't return to tell him everything's ready." "You should be warned - he'll probably be sending others to check up on us, in addition to when he himself comes." The two turned their horses away, and began to trot back towards the road. The were-kangaroo looked back towards Annie. "It's Qabic." "I still like The Kangaroo-man with No Name-" "We are not calling me that..." The voices of the two drifted off into the distance. Although no battle had been fought, the party all felt somehow more experienced. QM Note: Another group will be riding in to check on them sometime tomorrow. Feel free to interact with NPCs/stores in the meantime.

Pelly's Paradise Day One: Huh?
Lind Whisperer replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
My current leanings are towards either Zepher or Brickelodeon. I hadn't gotten quite as much of a town reading off of Dragonfire, but going back over the posts I could probably see voting for him. Bob hasn't participated/posted enough for me to get very much of a vibe from him - but that's definitively subjunctive. I'm not really sure if I support Jack as a lynch - on the one hand, he did make a suggestion that could have penalized some of us - but I can also see myself suggesting it as a good idea, without thinking of the penalties.Out of everyone, I've gotten the strongest scum read off of Walter - but again, that could very well be highly subjunctive. I felt that he was a little too quick to try and find people to point fingers at - but then again, I'm the person he was trying to point fingers at. I think that I can safely say, with the minimum of prejudice, that he was a little quick to use the "scum" word, if nothing else, which is one of the trademarks of a basic scum - the attempt to quickly focus attention on some innocent townie - but Walter is an experienced player, and it doesn't seem likely that as scum he'd do something so potentially incriminating. So...I'm feeling the same indecision I felt back in Cosplay I. ^Replace "subjunctive" with "subjective", sorry. -
Mystic Knight...Hmm... I've been thinking about taking a break from Heroica after #131 and #122 end. Any chance you might be interested in enchanting my Plasma Shield, if I lent you my medallion while you did so?
