Heroica RPG - Quest #136: The Sorcerer's Stone
Yzalirk replied to Purpearljellyblob's topic in The Heroica Archive
"So, you let others make yer decisions? What makes ya different from a dog, Na'im? You are yer own person, do not let others make decisions for ya." "My brother is like myself in only a few ways, such as appearance but minus the beard, and the desire to help the less fortunate. Other than that, we are opposites. He is a ruthless fighter, and that is a fact. Last I heard, he still leads his soldiers in the Ruby Mines, warding off Dark Dwarves and creatures that live underground." Mhinak shrugs. "I am just glad that you are still alive. Food and water is absolutely the most important things to possess. Anyways, I can handle other Dwarves and I will help you get a new helmet, do not fret!" "Maybe the Guardians should build upon themselves, that way they do not have to rely on the Star Elves. You can all protect yourselves, you do not need the Star Elves protection. It would also be wise to stay out of both the Fenarian and Star Elf affairs." Mhinak then overhears Bain, "As a matter in fact, yes, I do believe you and your people seek to destroy the forests! If you do not, then I will have less of a problem with helping you. If your king or queen or whatever vouches to not destroy Krimwood, than expect my help. I wish to see the forests flourish, not to be burned down to ash. Perhaps if you try to be diplomatic with the Guardians, they will show less hostility towards you Fenarians. The Star Elves offer protection, what would you have to offer? Convince them to help you, not the Star Elves. But still, I would like to see the three of ya have some sort of treaty." Mhinak shrugs once again. -

Mhinak completely ignores what the Orc said and gestures certain movements that portrays him hitting the skeleton decoy he was given, representing the Orc. But perhaps she is right, maybe he should choose a side. He also does not respond to what Germ had to say but thinks which category he falls under, which does not make him happy. "No one is crafted to such perfection, yes, that includes the Elves - both the old new. I am only worried about helping the guardians by bringing back the Brown Nekrastone for them. Whoever offers the greater reward, has my... uh... handcannon. The only way to figure that out is by talking to their leaders. To me, there are three options we have - we can either give each side a Nekrastone, give one side all of them, or we destroy them so no one can have them. As of now, my decision will be made once I speak with the Star Elf Queen and whoever leads the Fenarians." -

"If I heard you correctly, you mentioned an 'automaton'? Mechanical men always are fascinating, at least I believe. Tell me about this automaton... if you don't mind." -
Looks like I will get to experience my first Grogmas here. Will there be some sort of gift exchange or whatever like that one year? Out of curiosity, can someone show me some different Dwarf customization using the Balin armor over PM?

Mhinak locks eyes with Na'im and begins to grow furious with him, "I am well aware that you revived me but you had done so at the end of the battle. I wanted to help kill those ghosties, those freaks of nature! You denied me of that." Mhinak, still scowling, looks at Germ and still replies, "I have no reason to hate you." -

Mhinak gives the party a dirty look, that they all notice. He speaks, "You all are starting to piss me off. You all left me on the ground, unconscious. All of you are selfish and should be ashamed of yourselves. A team helps one another, even if they do not like each other." He says as he proceeds to scowl at the party. He faces Polly, "I am most glad to see you alive. What you said to me a while ago on the boat got me thinking to myself... about family. If you surround yourself with loved ones, either they be kin or friends, I think they can be considered family. Dwarves like myself consider each other kin." Mhinak tries to smile but fails. "You know, you remind me of my earth-brother. Just like you, he is a fierce warrior. If you met him, I think you would like him. He is like me in some ways but more or so the opposite of me. He would make a better hero than me..." Mhinak's jury-rigged smile quickly turns into a frown. Then he turns to Inki, "I never really got to ask you but... what do the guardians believe? Do they seek to harm both the Elves and Fenarians or just one of them?" -

Mhinak notices the Elves and pauses for a few seconds. He questions himself if he should alert the guards of his "friends." However, he does not. Instead, he begins to walk backwards as silently as possible back to the group and signals to Polly to walk backwards and puts his index finger over his lip to indicate silence. -

I would prefer that you do not use any of my pictures that you can find unless they are of that one I build I did that was nice quality with the Orc blacksmith. If you manage to find pictures from those, I do not mind you using them as long as you credit me. -

At the sight of Polly, Mhinak falls to his knees in tears, "Polly! You do not know how glad I am to see you! Before we can explain anything, we need to get out of this living hell. The others are fine but... I no longer care for them. They left me unconscious on the ground, helpless, and did not bother to aid me until everything was dead. I am no hero... I am a walking corpse..." "Germ, you are much more agile than me, get everyone and..." Mhinak pauses for a second. "Bring them to safety..." He bombastically grunts. Mhinak shouts in the large room where the other "prisoners" are and tells them to follow him for safety. He then grabs Polly by her arm and together they leave from where the party entered. -

Mhinak realizes that he is indeed not dead but, something inside him deep down is, "Shame on the lot of you for not helping me. May Orrik smite you all! Mhinak curses at the party angrily. Before the party could respond to him, he leaves the room in search of Germ feeling angry and like an outcast. -

I like that, thanks for the idea LD. Also, does anyone know why the Kaliphlin pages on the GoH wiki are gone? They apparently were edited last by someone who goes by the name "Darth Sheev." -
Alright, thanks.

The Heroica Hall is there too but okay. I really have not been keeping up with news as of recently so I do not even know what this Pandemonicon quest even is so is there a specific page I can read about it? Does the new quest you thought of today tie in with it?

Is the Lone Mountain available to become a settlement? I am looking to build a Dwarf settlement within the mountain and mainly just make builds dedicated to it for my stories. Please, let me know it that spot is available. -
I think you should do the same with the Marketplace that way it does not get "lost" and people can access it much easily.
-
Well, that is disappointing.
-
Can people side with the Wolfgang only if they have reputation with them?
-
I disagree with you in the regard that it is "too late" to add such a thing. What I was thinking would be that it is its own thread and placed in that box with the guilds. I should also mention that some of those older threads should be taken down too since those events happened quite some time ago. I do like that players should give their characters biographies about them but to keep it maybe with the bullets for key information about them. Myself and many others could go on and on about information about the characters so I think keeping the information at a minimum is key.
-
I do not necessarily mean every little character you include in builds. I mean important characters like a General, a Scribe, a King, etc. I was thinking there could be maybe a seven side character limit, at most, that can be registered. I plan to do so when the time comes.
-
I think that is a great idea. My only concern is what do you do if you have multiple registered characters? By that, I mean other important characters besides your actual main character.

After hearing the ghostly figure's plan, Mhinak's face turns pale, "You bastards." Mhinak turns to Elnath, "I suppose you are right. Just let it be known that we cannot get too involved with what is going on around Spesialia otherwise, we are never going to leave. Being in this prison feels like it has been an eternity." Mhinak turns to the party, "After hearing what that... thing said, we cannot allow them to escape. I believe those non-sentient beings will do more harm than we can possibly imagine. Saving the dragon is beyond our capabilities, he is too weak to move. I knew killing those Star Elves was not a good idea, look at the new danger we face..." -

"I do not fight for beliefs that I do not agree with. As far as I am concerned, my job is to help Elnath return the artifacts he has. He is my employer, not Bain. If she needs help, she could have tasked the greatest Fenarian warriors to get Eckmar, not us. Bain has yet to reward us for saving her life and she continues to ask for favors." Mhinak wipes the sweat from his forehead and turns to Elnath, "You are our employer, master Elnath, are you not? Do we help the Fenarian or do we proceed to do as the elves have instructed and return the artifacts? What say you?"
