Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Stegoceras replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Lets see if I can help you here, as far as I know the Poisoning of Honoghr has been retconned to have happened at 20 BBY as opposed to the earlier stated 35 BBY This event thus happened during the Clone wars which of course also have been retconned to different years after Attack of the Clones. As for Anakin being knighted (+scared at the eye +having a different haircut +having a padawan +etc, etc, etc) in the first year of the war is simply because they completely screwed up the EU time-line of the Clone wars with the Neo-clone wars series and promising they'll explain/fix it all eventually. There are literally dozens of things that are being changed/retconned in the neo-clone wars episodes, I guess the producers don't even bother with established EU. I guess until that time comes and a decent time-line is made it's just up to the fan to make his own decisions on what happened when and what he considers Canon or not. -
I finally got my package today, consisting of the V19-Torrent (which is much better and more fun too build than I had anticipated) and as a little bonus I got myself the new Clone-trooper battle pack (which is amazing as well).

Heh, I understand the concept of old stuff out new stuff in, but that's not what people are talking about. Not every country has it's star wars lego shop to go to, then to send those people that can't profit of that fact an email and offer things you don't have is not really an offer at all. Of course no loss and no gain (nothing to get really upset about), but it's strange business nonetheless.

I don't want to boast, but yay Panaka, I got it right!(for once), that's definitely him in the Sith infiltrator. Thanks for the pictures of course, luckily these are preliminaries cause some things just don't look right yet. Ewok Attack; The tree/catapult/treelog-launcher looks interesting, but the speederbike simply looks unfinished to me. Dathomir Speeder; To say it shortly, it looks ugly and dull. Not to keen on the initial version of savage, he looks like a supervillain that would belong to a spiderman or batman set(far too bright and bulky) Anakin's and Sebulba's podracer; Looks like a good improvement on the 1999 set, especially Sebulba's podracer seems amazing. Geonosian starfighter; Nice looking ship, nice to get a cheaper Cody, Ki looks like he has got a flesh cone stuck on his head (curious to see a close-up of that). Green Geonosian? an undead version or something, looks a bit strange, I'd settle for a gray'ish version like the old ones. Sith Infiltrator; PANAKA!!! yay, someone to fill up the old flash speeder, really happy seeing him appear (next Captain Typho hopefully). Maul looks a bit strange to my eye, but that's probably the new horns he has gotten. Millennium Falcon; Haven't gotten the two previous versions, so finally my third chance to get one. Nothing more to say about it, looks good to me so far. Republic Frigate; Wasn't to interested in these shrinked size minifigure sets (Venator, ISD, Republic Frigate), but then of course TLG knew we were really waiting for that Quinlan figure and they had to stick him in here. I'm not sure what to think of it now, guess I'll just have to wait and see (damn you TLG, hehe) Can't really make out the third jedi, but as said, likely to be Eeth, nice to have him. (Now it's time to demand Adi Gallia from TLG) Torn between great sets and the 'mwoh, poor stuff' sets, it's a great year for Minifgures at least. Hopefully they keep 'em all in and will not replace half of them by anakin/ahsoka/...(fill in any character you have plenty of). Guess in the end I'll just have to wait for final pictures and then make my judgment.
-
When I read the mail I got my heart starting pounding madly and I in my head I saw the cash on my bank-account being funneled to TLG (really insane low prices), but then reality hit me, as anything that's even nearly interesting has a tag 'sold out'. Well good to read that these kind of 'sold out' sales are not unfamiliar and I don't have to feel like I missed out on a great opportunity. I guess this is just a bit of ruse to sell the keychains, less desirable stuff and some small sets that sell badly.

Since I'm still awake and it's officially past midnight, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
-
It's not Greedo. It be Wald then, Anakin's child-hood friend. And the unrecognizable one as I said before I think is Captain Panaka.
-
Well not disagreeing that Qui-Gon is in the Sith Infiltrator, but if you look closely, between Maul and ?padme? there is another figure (blue and brown), Qui-Goin is on the far right partly beneath an orange tag it seems. Of course, a new ep1 Obi would be nice, but can't really make that one out from the picture and I fear it may as well be Qui-Gon since he also came with the 1999 Mos Espa Podrace and Obi isn't involved with the whole podrace.
-
woaw this is some exciting stuff right before christmas. Thanks Clouette for this preview of what's to come. I must say, the Dathomir speeder seems to have an interesting shape, wonder what it will look like. Agreed, most seem to be what you say they are, although I have to say I think your wrong about Obi-wan, I don't think it's a lightsaber but the edge of the blue box. It might be Qui-Gon, which seems to be the more logic choice. and in the Sith Infiltrator, Captain Panaka perhaps?(brown body, blue pants) It's a figure with a lot of brown, so it's possible.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
Stegoceras replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
As far as we know from the EU she survives up until the battle Boz Pity (near the end of the clone wars) then disappears of the radar. However... apparently this will mean zip diddly squat to the producers of the clone wars and she might as well die somewhere long before that or even somehow magically be retconned to return from her MIA and pop up before she originally went missing, who knows. I'll settle for the EU option though. I do hope she gets to kill some people, maybe even savage (very possibly I think, as far as I can tell from the presumed story of her falling in disgrace she needs an edge back in. Although he probably will be a too popular characters to be killed off), cad and ahsoka -
That sure is a strange speederbike, I doubt anything with legs, even a regular minifigure couldn't fit in there(Unless you rip the back of the seat out of course). It's really strange in my opinion making a vehicle that doesn't fit a minifigure. and yikes, so many stickers on this set, I wonder if there even is a printed brick amongst them. Can't see this set becoming a good seller (not for it's vehicles of course) but I do hope someone will get this soon and sway my thoughts about it with a mind-crushing review. Cause it's really not looking so great at the moment. and not to forget, thanks for another great high resolution picture Grogall.

Interesting,.. I'm hardly a capable photographer, but such a fun contest is hard to resist a shot at.

I'll keep my opinions of the clone wars series before me, safe to say I enjoyed the episodes but I much more of an EU fan which is all I say about this to not further de-rail this topic. Anyways, Still in love with that Battle of/for Geonosis set, actually like all of it, the minifigs and the models, though the Barc isn't to spectacular but in my opinion it carries the general shape and detail of the original thus it's sufficient, I'm not collecting SW lego because I want exactly detailed models anyways. The proton cannon is very well made and looks rather sleek on top, which is a definite plus. Very curious for some detailed shots of the cannon, so far must be my favorite model of 2011. Mace's JSF is as noted a bit dull, but I think Lego's model is decently styled after the source material and is accurate enough. The (few) details look nice on it and hope they are not huge stickers. The Speeder in the set looks like an improvement on the 2002 Dooku's speeders model, wonder how the STAP's look with a droid, because I think the partly photoshopped stand somewhat deformed the overall size and detail of the thing. Finally it's quite obvious mini-figures are going to be the seller of this set, a spiffy new r2-unit, a cheap mace(for those that didn't get the RAS, like me) and the nice tactical droid.

I'm not sure whether this belong in this topic exactly but here goes. I was wondering what happens to exclusive, collectors or special edition (or whatever they call them) sets that are sold in countries where there is no target, wall-mart or Toys'R'Us. Are these sets offered elsewhere then the online Lego shop? For example in the Netherlands we don't have any of those, as far as I can tell(except for Toys'R'Us who is I believe working under the name ToysXL here, but not sure, confirmation that these sell the TRU exclusives anyone?) Sorry if this question has been asked and answered before, but I couldn't find any record of it. -
[Review] 7930 Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship
Stegoceras replied to 501st Commando's topic in LEGO Star Wars
First off, thanks for the review. Still not particularly drawn to this set though, an interesting design but parts seem to be few in number and nothing really special, though I like the dark green bits. Do like the grate bit on the back of the cockpit, hadn't noticed before but it gives the section below the cockpit a little prison idea. Which is neat and I reckon a great playability function. Somewhere to stash your baddies/goodies. Still keeping this one low on the list of sets to get. It's really all about the mini-figures it seems which are as amazing as they initially seemed. -
Isn't it partially ABS and partly rubbery plastic? I think that's what 'legoboy Productions' said in his reviews. The main part is abs (well the Chinese-kind at least) while the tentacles are from a softer material.

So is this a confirmation we will be getting 4 of the same faces on the mandalorians? I know it's a long shot but I had hoped for a bit of variation. Well shouldn't really complain at least they included a face of course. It just puts it even lower on the 'want-list' for me.
-
heh, nice find. Though I admit at the end I forgot everything I just saw and went, hmmmm...beets... I obviously need to eat more of those.
-
Got an oldie SW set today, 7180 B-Wing at rebel control center from 2000, filling another hole in my collection. Very happy with it.
-
For the Dutch people here. The january sets are now also available for pre-order at Bol.com, ship the 14th. Prices seem to be in range of what they will charge in retails shops in Holland as well (which is damn expensive, I'll start praying for a rapid discount).
-
Thanks, shows there is definitely room for two in that cockpit. Those seem to be some big stickers as well. But still not looking half as bad as the first pictures we got of the T6 in my opinion.
-
My oh my, what lovely pictures. So detailed, seasee's headpiece and face both look amazing and the detail on the horn company clone commander is sublime. Still not too fond of the bounty hunter gunship, though the sticker on the door looks fun and it seems you can stick all the mini figures into the model, so that are some pros. i also wonder what parts are printed and which are not. On another note, I for one am very happy to see TLG included a body for the V-wing astromech, I know it's horribly inaccurate but who doesn't want a neat little gray body to go with a gray head. Had it been a body color we had already seen i could understand people not liking it, but now... I mean, just look at it (well worth the 50 cents, hehe) But I guess this simply is always the case, some people like it, others don't

Congratulations to the winners, you guys deserve it for those amazing entries. and thanks to the moderators for organizing.

Indeed, As far as I can tell it's already stated in 'Republic Commando - True Colors', it says large funds are embezzled from republic funds by high officials and are hinted to be invested in new troops being created/cloned in other locations. Haven't finished the book yet, so don't know the exact facts yet.
