Thanks for the info andrewqwy Although in my mind it now looks like 7749 echo base with half a 8084 snowtrooper battlepack and a bacta tank tacked on, I'm anxiously awaiting the pictures of the set to remove these horrifying images from my mind.

The special edition tag already makes me fear for the price/piece ratio. Hope it's still a reasonable price since I think it looks very nice and sadly I missed the 7660 (only got the old 7141). I also agree with everyone here, box-art looks very nice. Quite curiously awaiting the first reviews of this one.

Thank you Tomo for the review and Bane for linking it. I just got to say I'm a bit disappointed with the model, it's just a slightly more beefy version of the old one but now with the gap in the middle. The cockpit still looks dreadful and shallow, I mean the Geonosian has to sit all the way back just to fit inside? The connection gap in Ki-adi's head seems to be as bad as I feared (also why the crancky mad-man's face? He must have been using some serious drugs), the only things i really like is the ability to get a Cody (since I missed the RGS one) and the Geonosian which could have been better in a different color but looks excellent and detailed as it should. That and the slight disappointment with the Ewok Attack which only plus is the awesome Ewoks and the(to me) lackluster Sith Nightspeeder don't really turn this into a good wave thus far, hope the more expensive sets can pick up the slack.

For the Dutch people and possibly for other european countries. Just noticed Bol.com has the new summer wave sets up for sale (though their delivery time is currently 2-3 weeks), They usually have similar prices to the retail shops, so without further ado a list of the prices. - 7956 Ewok Attack - €27,99 - 7957 Sith Nightspeeder - €27,99 - 7959 Geonosian fighter - €39,99 - 7961 Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator - €74,99 - 7962 Anakin's & Sebulba's podracers - €99,99 - 7964 Republic Frigate - €129,99 - 7965 Millennium Falcon - €159,99 Sorry if they have already been posted, but I usually loose track seeing all those posts about american/english prices.

Just received my AT-AT today and the ARF was included, I made my order at about 4 GMT on the 3rd. So I'm still very happy to get it as I have read all the dreaded stories of people not having it included. Didn't get the poster though, but to be honest cared little for that one.

Just ordered myself the AT-AT, since the minituarized capital ships with minifigures (like the Tantive IV) don't really appeal to me. Besides missed all previous version of the AT-AT and in my area these big sets are usually pretty hard to get, unless your willing to over-pay on them. With the no shipping fee and the small discount it makes for a good deal to me. The exclusive minifigure is the cherry on the cake.

Finally stumbled upon the Collectable minifigures in a store near me, was very surprised. So I got a few of them. Actually got 4 doubles (mummy, Elf, Indian and Baseballer) thanks to relying on the silly 'looking for the dots' method (which just are too vague or completly of course to get a decent chance of getting the figure I wanted), but when I switched to the 'feeling' method I quickly had the remaining figures (all but the Hula-girl cause I just couldn't locate it in the box and eventually got fed up, will return to the shop soon). Later in another store I also stumbled upon a box with a few left-over figures from series 1 to my surprise and decided to pick up the two remaining variants that were in there as well (diver and magician)

I do not have enough clear bricks, so I currently use black bricks for stands. I currently have a slightly tilted stand for the old ARC-170 version, giving a nice front-top view of the ship. Beyond that I usually like creating simplistic scenes with the figures and ship like for example a simple hangar bustling with activity. Only use the model with figures in front line-up with models I couldn't place in a little scene at that moment. I also prefer not putting models in flight mode when they rely on rubber bands cause I really don't know whether this will make the rubber bands dry up and become brittle after a prolonged period(I know the old black ones are nearly all dried out anyways, not sure about the newer rubber bands, if anyone has any experience with this I'd very much like to share in that wisdom.)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
Stegoceras replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
The Citadel, what an enjoyable episode, Tarkin and Piell behaved as you'd expect of them and there was no illogical stuff in this episode. The episode somewhat reminded me of RoTJ and I think the 'approaching the blockade' sequence was a nod to the movie. Episode ended a bit abruptly but that just makes me more anxious to see the next one. Would have been a great opportunity for them to use a Commando squad like Delta Squad instead of the regular clones and the two "promoted" (still a bit weird) ARC troopers but that is just me nit-picking and in no way ruins this episode. All-in-all I (and I think the majority of watchers) would like more of these episodes please. and now we wait for a Lego Even Piell, next wave anyone? -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

I must say, 'Ghost of Mortis' just salvaged the arc, while the second episode still was the odd child of the family this one did seem to make up for a lot of it's flaws and made the arc enjoyable. It finally also felt nicely tied in the SW universe and episode 3. Also the end was nicely done. Hope they are going to continue the decent writing of this episode in future episodes. I don't mind you stating that your opinion, but a bit more subtle way of saying it might be nice. Calling the EU garbage written by hacks that no-one likes goes a little out of line in my book. I do agree we see a little too much "the EU said this or that and the TCW just ignored it" conversations here though. To give my final note about this topic(I won't try and bring up the EU any further in this topic, not that I think I have done that much in the past besides being in defense of it), I just think it's strange that EU books/comics/game can reasonably coincide with each-other while The Clone Wars seems to 'disregard' (in failure of my occasional crummy English in finding a better word) what has been done in the past. I guess retcons aren't that bad but it takes a bit of time to adjust the picture of what you knew about the SW universe and what the 'new' facts are and how they'd fit together as much as possible. Besides how can you call EU garbage after reading books like the Thrawn Trilogy or the Republic Commando series, comics like the Republic series, and games like Knights of the Old Republic. In my opinion some of the best works outside the movies are definitely in the EU. -
First off, thanks for all the lovely picture Secondly, nothing really piques my interest from this wave as of yet. Mini-figures look great but just can justify a buy just for it's mini-figures it needs to be complemented by a good model. The Geonosian starfighter looks to most interesting to be honest, but if Euro prices are going anything like they have been, it's going to be way expensive. Of course that's hardly a problem to me at the moment, cause I normally don't buy the new sets shortly after release. I'm currently scraping up 2009-2010 sets anyways, which spares me a nice coin here an there in the long-run. and why oh why are people so negative about the bottom of the Millennium Falcon, I realize it's hardly a good bottom, but honestly it's a bottom (besides there are so many models with lousy bottoms, it feels sort of nostalgic as well thinking of the Gungan Sub), it's hardly ever in sight unless you put it on a glass table that you then suspend from the sealing or if you fail to see what the top is and display your model upside down.

The Gunship, Shuttle and Slave I will fit in nicely with my micro X-Wing and Tie(Exactly the same as TLC version) and my designs for scaled Tantive IV and Rebel Transport(which I still have to order parts for). Also one more Clone Pilot, that's an excellent addition to any army builder and I love to have one more of them in my collection, good to fill up my Gunship with. Guess I means I'm ging to want this calender. Though I hope it'll be available here, cause I can't remember having seen any of the previous calenders.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
Stegoceras replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Threading on thin ice there, as far as I can tell and possibly said over a dozen times on these forum is that the EU is Canon, it's a lower on the canon list and can be overwritten by movie of (dreadfully) The Clone Wars though. It's not fan-work either(They artsit/writer/etc may be a fan of Star Wars or not but it's definitely isn't fan-work) it's actually work approved by George Lucas himself and often commissioned and/or approved by him as an expansion on the Star Wars universe. and there is nothing wrong with the fact that Lucas has the last word, but it doesn't mean we are always satisfied with it and to be honest retcon happens a little bit too much in The Clone Wars. A good example is Asajj Ventress' background story. Where Asajj actually grows up on Rattattak with her parents who are eventually murdered by a competing warlord. Instead of her being a nightsister growing up with a ?bounty-hunter? on a planet that doesn't look much like previous images of Rattattak. but okay, you can question how much anyone could be bothered by such facts, but again it's all what your taste is, I like a lot of the stories made for the EU and for any who complain that the EU is not true canon, I'd say read some of the work made and then tell me again what is better canon. -
LEGO assembled for some time..
Stegoceras replied to The Player Nº1's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I guess bricks mostly loose some over their initial grip rather soonish, not sure why that is, but it doesn't seem to get much worse after that. I have got models that I keep assembled 24/7 and I can't say they are slowly falling apart. Unless you want to never use the bricks your always will loose that tight grip that some of the brand new pieces have, but why buy lego if your not using it. I have yet to encounter a serious case where bricks don't click together any more, even my old childhood lego still stays together fine. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

"Altar of Mortis", I really had the feeling they had something going after "overlords" but this episode made me feel like they dropped the ball. To me it was once again filled with poor decisions, stranger reactions and plot-holes. Not too mention if felt so dis-hinged with normal Star Wars lore that I felt it actually had nothing to do with it at a certain moment. It had some potential, like the corruption of Ahsoka (who actually became cool for the first time in the whole the Clone Wars series) poorly executed though, no real struggle in Anakin in having to fight his Padawan/friend. In the end it simply became a black-white episode bringing it back to the (boring) basics, showing how bad the dark side is and how noble the light side and suddenly making the 'force-wielders' so important that they are actually responsible for the fate of the galaxy. Definitely hope the third episode will salvage the arc but after seeing this one I'm not at all sure how they would even do that. I do believe I'd said something amongst those lines, though I'm not entirely sure you are referring to me. Anyways the simple explanation for this was you might have gone; Savage, what a cool character and look he kicked Dooku's behind, what an awesome scene. While I just roll my eyes and go; How the hell did he do that. I'm not sure whether I was paying extra attention but when I looked that episode I saw so many illogical actions/reactions/things that it completely ruined whatever story they were trying to tell me. Political episodes however boring they may be to most do usually have a simplistic story to tell without trying to drown it in cool but utterly absurd action scenes. Doesn't mean I didn't like the action packed episodes like "landing at point rain" but I just feel some of the current episodes (like the savage arc) are forcing action scenes without a completely thought-trough story to back it up, then I simply prefer something with a complete story. Mean no offense at all to people who liked the savage arc, I just didn't. -
I just have to say, amazing you got that right. Either your a really lucky guesser or have really good eyesight. Anyways nice one that you spotted that so early one and sorry for doubting you. Though I think I would have preferred dark red since I honestly say can't even remember them in light blue. Nice to have another newly colored commander in the clonetrooper ranks.(though it does make the Clone army look even more like a carnival and less like an army). The Jedi in the set don't thrill me as much as I expected, they look a bit ugly at first glance. Ewoks are a definite yes on getting, Now also re-thinking about buying Battle of Endor before it goes off-market just so I can make an awesome little ewok army. Logray definetly seems to be aiming for the minifigure of the year award. (if there was one) The Geonosian I think is really awesome with what I presume can only be a new printed mold. He'll look great amongst his older versions. I'm not so sure about those headpieces of Maul, Savage and Ki. I just wonder if the seem between head and headpiece will be too noticeable in real, because on the picture it's very noticeable(and ugly). Must say though that the armor of Savage looks very interesting. Last but not least, podracer minifigures all look very good. Wonder how many parts Sebulba will consist of cause it looks like his arms can come off. Watto is just amazing and must be a definite improvement over his older version. All in all I do notice that the summer wave is going to be the wave of shorties, I don't think they ever used as much short legs as in this wave. Now just to wait and see how the vehicles will look.

Which is better, Star TREK or Star WARS?
Stegoceras replied to vahkimetru's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I have to go for Star Wars, though I must admit I haven't watched much Star Trek. There is only one big argument I could throw at you why Star Wars is better than Star Trek and that's by just looking at the guns, The resemblance of Hairdryers and Glue guns is just too big in Star Trek not to make me laugh and spent all my time figuring out what other items resemble. But then I haven't watched that much of Star Trek so I'm a bit one-sided in this vote. -
Thanks for the kind words all, appreciate it. Initially I was planning on using one of those smaller 2x2 dishes in front of it, but alas I didn't have any in old gray and only 1 in new gray, but definitely not enough parts to make the whole front new gray. So I opted for the cone in failure of a better part cause without anything there it simply didn't look right to me. One of the rules actually, had to include pilot + droid, it was quite a challenge to get R2 in, but that's half the fun of the build (or maybe even three quarters of it for me)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
Stegoceras replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I agree on the whole explanation, it sounds very decent, but it was more of the fact that the whole scene seems so useless, the whole conversation isn't actually needed for the story, we can work out ourselves that all three force wielders are seeking out Anakin without Qui-Gon telling us. Nothing to even remotely risk a possible crash with movie canon for. Then again of course he could just be having vision induced by one of the force wielders like Anakin and Ahsoka seem to have and that will be explained in one of the later episodes. -

I looked it up for you (cause can't keep track of all these names). Apparently it's the Eta Shuttle I suspect we will see it in Lego as well, either this year or the next. -
I'm not sure whether that would be strange taking time and the period of the movies in consideration. Remember that the OT was made many decades ago, in a time that didn't feature a sci-fi blockbuster every month (or even more frequently) unlike the world we live in now. As well as the fact that it's so classic and returns on tv every single year making it hard for people not to have seen it(if you seen something a few times you know what it is) PT hasn't really been around that long and I agree may not reach the legendary status of the OT but it's still an unfair comparison. Besides there are actually people that have no clue what the Death Star/tie fighter/x-wing is or can't place a name on it. Believe it or not, I honestly think I could find a decent number actually.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
Stegoceras replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Although a bit confusing here and there and occasionally being so disconnected from previous episodes(sharing only it's main characters as the only thing related to the star Wars universe), I do think this episode was decent(I'm sure they'll screw it up in the next two episodes, but okay) giving you plenty of stuff to think about. The only thing really of note that bothered me is the appearance of Qui-Gon Jinn, while the other two had visions induced by respectively the light and the dark side children, Obi-Wan seems to have Qui-Gon babbling at him, it seemed unnecessary and unless they fix it I think it bumps with movie canon (as Obi-Wan is amazed to hear Yoda had contact with Qui-Gon in Ep III). I like that the head honcho sheds new light on the meaning of the balance of the force, explaining that too much light or dark would be the undoing of life as people will understand it. Shedding a whole new perspective on how wrong the Jedi could have understood the prophecy and changing the way you could see the movies(there is no balance if you kill of all sith or consewuently all jedi). All in all not a bad episode, not a great one, but so far I liked it far better than the previous arc. -
Since I have seen more pop-up here, I decided to show mine of as well. My Chibi N1 Starfighter. Yep, they fit in there...

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

Episode 14 "witches of the mist"... No,... just no, this isn't what a good episode would look like. In my personal opinion it was a dreadful episode relying solely on the action scenes. I'd honestly rather watch a senate episode then this, there are so many holes in it. Savage Opress is turned into a ridiculously overpowered character who can literally outclass any Jedi or Sith in force usage though he had only little bit of training under Dooku. Not to mention anyone can now literally fly towards an enemy spacecraft and board it with a whole 3 battle droids coming to investigate and apparently Toydarians with guns seem to think fighting in close range is the way to go. There is just a dozen of these little things that aren't thought out very well. I certainly hope that in the future they won't actually bring Darth Maul back, cause that would be the cream of the ridiculous crops. As well as that I hope Savage won't play too big a role in future episodes or gets thoroughly re-made. -
#8018 AAT, Can't wait to start building it, though I must admit colors look a bit boring after a quick glance at the bags, but I'm sure it'll turn out nicely. Always wanted an AAT but missed out on the previous version (and even second-hand is usually still heavily priced).
