  1. My first ever Vignette; Mini-figure: Surfer Theme: City (beach) What else is there to do for a surfer when your waiting for waves than to build sandcastles and get a tan?
  2. Congratulations to all the winners... sadly I wasn't among them, but they way my luck's been going lately that is quite logical. I still had tons of fun looking for a mini-figure everyday though (well maybe with exception of the witch) and I certainly hope we will see another treasure hunt in the future.
  3. oh, this sounds good. Can you also make an entry based on purely official lego parts? As in no custom bits.
  4. Seems the photofolder is now public. and must say, they look great. Especially like the fisherman and pilot so far. Pretty certain the Elf is going to be a much wanted figure judging by the picture. ?Sumo-wrestler? looks a bit too simple in my opinion, hopefully it will become more detailed in the final version
  5. I really can't see how this can be considered bad news, a bit of competition has never hurt. TLG is a company that has it's roots deeply nested in the market and I won't expect the prices to drop immediately, but just a bit is never a bad thing. As for the quality decrease when they supposedly drop their prices, I severely doubt such a situation, they would simply cut their own fingers if they do. Besides lower prices might actually boost their sales by cutting in on market of other toy categories and eventually boost their own profit in the end.
  6. Okay, thank you very much for the information, Just sent the pm. Thanks very much for this contest, as a new member this was a great way of learning my way around the forums and it was a great (albeit a bit frustrating with one or two clues) and fun experience. Now just to cross my fingers and hope I get lucky on the raffle part
  7. Just a question before I submit, do the entries have to be specifically like this? 1) *Insert the name of the Collectible Minifig* [insert Link to post] with stars and brackets? and does it need to be a link or just the url?
  8. heh, had already found the Mexican in a curious moment, well I guess it's 3 to go. Hope we don't get any very hard clues anymore so close to the finish.
  9. Yup, It wasn't the first thing I thought of, but after looking up a certain word in google it pretty quickly lead me in the right direction. Good clue
  10. It looks awesome, and I bet it would look great in a display next to other sets. The modified back really adds another dimension to this sets, truly a great job
  11. I don't think it will be that bad, I think there is actually quite a big number looking for minifigures and a good group that are reasonably on track of finding them all. To be honest, I don't think the treasure hunt is too hard. I admit there are some hard ones that have me scratch my head, but I personally only returned to the Lego scene recently and only have been a member for about a month here and yet i have still found all 10. So it's more than do-able (usually comes down to reading the clue and then reading the clue again and again sometimes) and I'm pretty sure WhiteFang will issue some extra hints if the number of participants that have 16 is too low.
  12. Hinges at different height levels, took a bit of trial and error to get them in sort of a roundish shape
  13. Sooo,.. second attempt at a LDD building. Alas the same thing as the last still applies, my lego collection is hardly sufficient to make anyhting similar to this from real lego blocks, so thath is unlikely to ever happen, however let me present without further ado... The Train Station I went for an old style station and wanted to add a giant glass wall and a nice sloped roof. See trough of the building, didn't take time to add some furniture, so looks a bit empty, but perhaps I'll add some later. Personally like the way the front worked out, so I just had to add a little close-up Added windows to the sloped roof The back of the building, didn't make the platform very long, but I reckon anyone can easily extrapolate it further. Another see trough from behind, not sure if the train stops are wide enough... didn't check, but not hard to modify if they are. Enjoyed making this one, who knows if I'll do another... or perhaps some furniture for it instead.
  14. That is quite a number, could it have anything to do with the hard-to-find witch from the raffle hunt :P... I know I was looking for it at that time.
  15. Today's clue was nice and do-able and just for the record; Wooohooo I found the Witch, I really was way over-thinking that clue. So that's 9 out of 8 now (got a nice spare one tucked away)
  16. Damn, the Witch is hard, been looking all over for it. If only I had the faintest idea where to look for her since I definitely tried any hunch I had and I have been all over the forum. Must have read the clue a hundred times, Either I'm over- or under-thinking it. Hope I get a brilliant idea in the coming days and the remaining clues won't be this hard.
  17. For one, I have been collecting SW sets from '99, which was the time they attempted to stuck a Jar Jar in every set possible and to be honest he is one of the most useless characters to have (thus I have enough of him and aren't really looking forward to another). Besides, don't you know the power of Jar Jar? http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Failing_Up_With_Jar_Jar_Binks Anyways I was just jesting around, but back on topic as far as I can tell the first images of the sets look great and can't wait to see more detailed pictures of the ships, the mini-figures and especially of Quinlan Vos cause I wanted one of those since day one.
  18. Did my eye spy a Jar Jar coming up? About time: Soon I'll have enough of those and rule the world, muhahahaha at least he gets a spiffy color.
  19. damn, that Spartan must have been the hardest thus far, can't say I think it was the best clue (it's actually kind of sneaky) Just a little tip for anyone that is stuck on this one or another; read the clues very well they usually send you in the right direction.
  20. Thanks, well it's amazingly expensive if you would buy it trough LDD, but I think if you add interior, some mini-figs and other details it would probably be as expensive as the other modular sets. Well noticed, I actually added the tenchic bricks in at the final stages of construction, since I don't have any of the modular buildings yet, I wasn't sure where to put them and had to look it up, I accidentally forgot to remove the little 1x3 plate that lies underneath though, but easily solvable for anyone would build this. Not feeling like updating the screen-shots just for that little detail though.
  21. I was messing around with LDD and ended up with this. It's an apartment building of sorts for the mini-figs to live in, no interior just exterior. Made it a corner building cause I wanted to have the staircase in plain sight. The apartment building with staircase Showing the staircase leading up to the 2 top apartments and the roof Back of the building with the little balconies The side of the building Another shot of the staircase, just for the fun of it. Really enjoyed doing this, now if I ever get a huge amount of tan pieces I might make a building like this for real.
  22. I agree, it's damn shame I never got these any of the dino attack sets when they were in store, the dino, the buggy and the minifig they all look so great. Well there is always the hope that TLC will revive the Dino theme with a Jurassic Park license if they make a fourth movie.
  23. I must already be getting good at this, takes less time every day to find it, had the most trouble with the first actually because I couldn't remember which part of the forum I had seen the post in. Anyways kudos to the makers of this contest, it's really fun and I for one look forward to it each day for a few good minutes of searching fun. and so happy I decided to join the forum a few weeks ago, wouldn't have want to miss this for the world.
  24. Woaw, that's quite a collection and from many different years it seems. yet everything looks in tip-top shape. Anyways very nice, though the site link doesn't work in my case so just checked your brickshelf folder.
  25. Woaw, nice town, completly jealous of all the buildings and road plates. Recently built up a city out of all my oldie sets and it doesn't even come close to yours. The only thing I might remark is that the streets are a tad empty, could do with some more vehicles and minifigs.
