Is this what happens to the naughty kids?

I found the Nexo Knights book as I was rummaging around at the local second hand store. Thought it made a fitting stand in for the Monster Book of Monsters.

Chinese New Year’s Sets 2020 - Rumours and Discussion
Vindicare replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Finally up on US S@H...it’s getting closer! -
I loved it all. Some of the builds were certainly lackluster, but I chalked that up to timeframe they had to produce the calendar. They were very much welcomed though. The banners are great. All the prints are fantastic. New 2x3 acceptance letter, two new envelope tiles, house crests, the torsos. I can’t wait for next years, they’re gonna knock it out of the park for sure.

People take these movies, and others, too seriously. I’m guilty of this myself. The Maze Runner for me was what did it. I really enjoyed the books but watching the first one was difficult because it didn’t follow the book very well. On it’s own, it’s a great movie with a fun story. But if you read the book, it’s a bit of a let down. So I get the grumblings. But movies like this are simply meant to be enjoyed & entertain. And this trilogy did just that. Sometimes passion needs to take a backseat.

It’s that damn smell...you can’t walk anywhere close to where Cinnabon is...or you’re done. Fortunately, the mall I go to for LEGO has no of that delicious distractedness nearby. I didn’t read about it’s recommended age. It’s nice to see a build event aimed more at the older crowd.

It just dawned on me the other day(and I don’t believe this was brought up) the Gingerbread House would make for a nice fit in Hogsmeade. At the very least, a nice template to start from.
-
Oh, they created it? I know nothing about the show. I can agree to that. If they’re going to put effort into an original story, it’d be nice seeing an in house theme.

When it comes to wishlists, sure. But when you comment stuff saying what you’d like to see in future sets, that’s when it has to happen. We all have to limit our hopes for what we would realistically like to see from our favorite themes. Take the new Modular for example. For a bookstore it’s not very full of books(especially the newer hinge book like the printed “Moby Brick” book)& that kinda sucks. But we have to take in mind piece count & price point & the fact that it’s two separate buildings, therefore more bricks used on middle walls instead of other details.

As Tariq said above, if you post something on a forum, you have to expect replies, and not just others nodding in approval. From what I saw of your posts & the replies to them, people weren’t putting you down, they were tempering your wants. I understand your passion for wanting all things bus, but our wants sometimes just don’t line up with what the company will produce. Look at all the clamoring for the Classic Trio: Space, Pirates, Castle. This place is far from a keep quiet & accept things kind of place, there’s plenty of criticism directed at LEGO(take a look at the Superheroes sets threads...you’ll find plenty of not accepting opinions on the sets themselves). But, some of us also realize the target audience is children who aren’t as critical, generally speaking, of a build as we adults are. Lastly, and I hope you come back to at least read the forums, it’s a shame you’re leaving. Even if I didn’t always agree with your posts, I did enjoy reading them.

Yep. Kinda bummed it isn’t coinciding with the release, when I’ll be at the store. The closest one is about two hours away for me...so driving that a week later isn’t really in the cards. It’s a good looking build. Hopefully the instructions will be made available. It sounds like it’s going to be rather limited though.

This years wave isn’t based on any movie. It’s based on an upcoming cartoon.

Those trees are fantastic! We all have plenty of extra cheese slopes. Great scene overall.

Star Wars VS In-House Space: Which do you think is better and why?
Vindicare replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I’m equally a fan of both. The last time in house & SW fought for shelf space, I went nuts with both, Alien Conquest & Galaxy Squad. It’s not quite right to criticize SW for repeat ships...as it’s those ships that sell. They do plenty of different ships(and colors) year in & year out. It’s just that everyone focuses on the popular ships because, again, they are the ones that sell best. -
This is killer! I love the heft you gave it. It looks like it could easily stand up against a Hulk rage. Had this been the official set, it would’ve been a day one purchase.

Saw this today & I thought it was great. Since most of you here are crabby uptight fans, I won’t bother giving my take though.

Ooh, nice tip. I don’t mind some scuffs & scratches so long as they’re not terribly noticeable. I wonder how that treatment would fare on trans pieces like windows or cockpit screens...

Not too sure about this, we had Kingdoms on the shelf at the same time as HP. We had LotR on the shelf towards the end of Kingdoms & into the 2013 Castle line. Likewise with SW we had Galaxy Squad & Alien Conquest. What the sales were of those themes & if they did affect one over the other...I don’t know. All I know is I bought both LotR, HP, & Kingdoms. I know there was a fair bit of grumbling about the ‘13 Castle line, but it looks like the typical offerings to me.

Nice one. The Avengers & that awesome new Christmas tree, what’s not to love?

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Vindicare replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I don’t know if you pay attention to Technic, but I saw they have a racing truck coming next year. It’s not quite like the one you posted above, but similar. A racing truck would be a nice change looks wise for City. Chances are though that it would come out in the Speed Champions theme. We’re getting two SUVs next year. -
So...many...fire stations. They all look great. They are unique yet they have a nice cohesion to them.

You’re free to discuss them, you won’t, as far as I know, get punished for it. There are even reviews of clone brands in Community. The only negativity that will come your way is some purist fan finger pointing.

Has LEGO ever listened to AFOLs? If so, when?
Vindicare replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You can’t say with such certainty that they are not reaching out to AFOLs because of their Bricklink decision based on you not liking the move. Some are perfectly fine with it & do see it as a potential good thing. -
Excellent choice. Like you, I have no idea about the game, but the sets are fantastic. I have a few & they’re all great. Those mech builds are definitely some of, if not the, best builds I’ve seen.
