I haven’t looked at my 2x4 since I built it, but I think just removing the top layer & sticking the two together, like the blue & green bricks, is the best solution. Unless you can take out the middle plate of the 2x4 to make the underside deeper? Yeah, I’m glad they stuck with the same building method. I had my eye on that picture frame before the freebie, solely for the brick builds.

I also use next weekend to refer to the following week’s weekend. So next weekend to me would be May 1/2. Hopefully they come this weekend(which technically is the next weekend), April 24/25.

Not to mention, we’ve had this discussion time & time again. A lot of us have a clone army of Jack Sparrow, Spider-Man, Batman, & Harry Potter. The vast majority of sets from Harry Potter are naturally going to have Harry Potter. Likewise, it also makes sense for Gryffindor. Yes, it sucks for us because we pretty much buy everything they throw at us. At least in terms of the robes, while we’re still getting too much from Gryffindor, we’re getting a great variety. And that is, slightly, expanding to Slytherin-the second most important House.

That castle one is impressive! I’ve very seen these popping up on Instagram the last couple days. Pretty cool.

I agree. We have an abundance of female heads & hairpieces, but we have zero centaurs(not saying Lavender suffered for the centaur). The centaur is such a great mold that has broad appeal.

Haha, looks great. You did his mask as well as could be expected I’d say.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
Vindicare replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Man, I'm tempted to head back to Target to grab some more, but as my luck hasn’t been very good, getting 5 of the 10 bought that I actually want, and I don’t want to feel bags...on top of saving for the HP wave. -
Terms to use in your MOC's place-names
Vindicare replied to Karalora's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hmm...fun topic. The only one that I could think of off the top of my head would be tubes....but not sure how that would fit into the concept. I’ll have to give this more thought. -
I don’t know if you’ve used the new vouchers yet, but’s ridiculously easy. I was on the boat of complainers about the vouchers but after using it, I’m not too bothered by it. Sure it’s a weird additional step that I still don’t understand why they did it, but you just gotta click the voucher & the amount is sent to your account.

You may be onto something with the licensed part. Maybe something like that is strictly to be used as it was meant to be. Looking at the split picture of her minifig & her character in that scene, without making a new hair i think they did the best they could. Assuming the intention was to add a bow. Otherwise, Swann’s hair would’ve been best. And there’s definitely has to be a skirt coming.

Yes. This is what I was hoping for & envisioned. It would be perfect. Maybe CMF exclusive hair doesn’t get reused in sets? The only I can think of(that was first released in CM) is the Dino Tracker girl & Genie Girl. So far the only redeeming quality for Lavender is her torso...which is great. It seems she suffered greatly from the other new stuff the budget ate up. I completely agree on Ron. He looks fantastic, the print is great. Having those arms doesn’t take anything away from it.

Question on 1x2 brick with groove
Vindicare replied to PhillyFrank's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The latter. It fits, but not snug. -
But then your Commissioner Gordon will be inconsistent.

I think most are unhappy with Borgin & Burke’s being included because it is taking the place of an otherwise more wanted shop that was actually from DA. In the event this is it for the location, it would be disappointing. While we obviously don’t have a clue, the set could have all the big wants as far as shops go, and still include B&B, as unlikely as that is.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Vindicare replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yes, yes yes. We get so many great new parts & prints for all sorts of things. I know most people would prefer non LEGO theme variety, as would I, but I love the minifigures(for the most part) that compliment the City theme. Like the Dog Sitter. Absolutely great print, new poop part & two great dogs. To partially defend the Superheroes theme, for me personally, they’re very hit or miss. Some sets, typically smaller ones, do feel like collectible minifigures with bricks included. But we do get gems like Daily Bugle, Ultimate Bridge Battle, & Sanctum Sanctorum sets. Even a lot of the vehicles are decent & fun builds. Like the Spider Crawler from recent years(and this years), I really enjoyed the end result of quite a few of them. *cough* Diver *cough* I love that turtle, but I couldn’t care less for the diver... Why we couldn’t get the turtle in the new Divers sub theme of City. -
I’m pretty excited about it. I never did get the early waves, I came back to LEGO after that. I’m especially happy to hear we’re getting the whole family, whareas the first one only had Vernon. I’m downright otter my mind with excitement.

All this nonsense talk is otterly riddikulus. All these posts with no real news, when we’re all stagnant at home is unfortunate. Now, if you’ll need me, I’ll be over here rereading the HP series, a hare raising tale to be sure, as we wait for pictures.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
Vindicare replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That’s not a big problem, I assume, for where I bought. The Target I went to has them on a hook up front by the checkout, in the impulse buy section. But yeah, even if they had them in a box as they come, I still would’ve just grabbed. I wasn’t too concerned about getting them, I was just feeling an urge for some new LEGO & made the trip quick as I could. Once this gets better & stores are confidently back to normal, I’ll go back to hunting for the others I want. Plus, I’m an early riser who likes the get to stores when they open. I’ve been buying my CMF’s at Barnes & Noble. The plan is to hopefully hear the day they plan on opening back up, get there at opening & go straight to the box. -
Well, that’s true. I didn’t even think of it from MOC/MOD perspective. I reckon you could recreate it decently enough with the old Castle. I don’t MOC so what I see is what I get. Sometimes the minifigures outshine the set they come in, but I feel HP is the best balanced theme out there.

As great as the 2010 Hogwarts is, it doesn’t compare to this current of Castle sections. They’re great builds & details. I know the previous Castle is more complete though. Just imagine the minifig accessory...

So....I may have made a return trip to Target to grab some more Series 20...I go to the mall parking lot to read & just get out of the house. Martial Arts Boy x2 Breakdancer Girl Pea Pod Costume Girl Super Warrior

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
Vindicare replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
They did that with the DC series as well. Kinda weird, as I don’t remember that kind of discount on previous series’. -
That would be awesome for sure. Realistically, if they do release another it will undoubtedly be a coffee one. That is a staple in City, as much as pizza.
-
Personally, I wouldn’t skip it especially if it’s on sale. It’s a great set with an equally great selection of minifigs. And the section of King’s Cross isn’t so bad either. But I understand the dilemma. You’ll still have a longer time to get this next wave than you will the Express.
