Maybe he just got off work at the gas station and just couldn't wait to take his boat out. I agree, they should've used a different torso.

D2C Contest: Arriving of Sandworm.
Vindicare replied to Fianat's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yeah, I've seen a few people do the brick built baseplate approach, which, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't ever remember seeing one like that. So, in that respect alone, the sets with those baseplates clearly wouldn't be made official. On to the creation at hand, it's a pretty neat MOC. The beady eyes of the worm are cool and the scene is an overall nice design. -
Your customs are just awesome! The pieces you come up with are jaw dropping! Great job yet again, very creative.

Hooray! It's finally here. Another awesome job, as usual. Now to series 5 ideas. I love the scenes you create, so little...yet so detailed! -
'Return Of The Ancients' By Thoy Bradley
Vindicare replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wow! That is one massive creation. That poor, poor skier, though... -
Yeah, the trees are outstanding. Seeing something so simple a tree made in such interesting and clever ways ob here. Very impressive imaginations we have on this site! Keep up the great work MOCers!

Assuming you're going for the rural look as opposed to modern city life, you should buy some of those huge lt. grey baseplates and just make some walkways/roads in between the houses and other buildings. Since the street baseplates are such a nice addition to any town, but not in your case. The "brick built"(sort of) way is the way to go, judging by your start there. Very good, well built buildings.

That's a nice piece. The details on the inside are good, but the front looks a bit strange, to me, with "police" all over the front. The one over the front door looks like it fits well, but the others just look too cluttered. The facade is nice, just too much.

That's awesome! Very well done interior and exterior. You have a pretty extensive collection as well. But, how is Mace inside and out? I also like your idea of the hologram jedis.

Most impressive, this is...hmmm. Wow, I would say that rivals mutleys(last I saw pics). Very cool. I thought I had a pretty impressive fleet, but 3 RGS and 5 AT-TEs!

I concur! That is one massive creation. It would certainly fit in with the PQ line up. I'd buy it! -
Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26
Vindicare replied to maydayartist's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Great job so far! Interesting tree there, never seen those green pieces used as tree foliage. I can't wait for the finished product. These update pictures are both good and bad! It makes us want more. -
Funny, this looks vaguely familiar to another creation in Action themes

I have most of mine built and displayed. Most of the city sets are, any castles I have and a few other sets I'm really impressed with. Probably about 50% are built.

The best place to put the glue, I think is on the underside of the brick. That way you get the most area between glue and brick and it gies around the perimeter of the brick. It'll have an even and consistent touch.

There is this little thing called sales that companies look at. Who's to say what they're(video game company) is. I'm sure if the first one didn't sell well, that could mean there is no sequel. Even if, as you say, it would be relatively easy to make, doesn't mean they're gonna release it if they don't believe they're going to make that money back. That's just one part of why 5-7 may not come out, buti don't know.

If they switch out baseplates for regular plates in city and modular, that's gonna be a big mistake. It could very well turn me away from them, because I would then have to buy extra baseplates so they'll fit in my city with the street baseplates..

Yeah, that's him.

I'm looking for the mini figure who's torso is white with green sleeves and has the astronaut on it. Or, just the hair piece from the CMF skater, surfer, soccer player(any color), you get the idea. I have one I'm watching on eBay right now, but it has a helmet instead of hair. So, I'm looking for either or the other. If you have both items and are willing to sell, or trade(I have some series 1 leftovers- 3 divers, a cowboy, Indian, and dummy).

I like it! But, holy huge speakers Batman! Compared to the monitor, anyways. They are, however a good representation of speakers. Well done.

I like the design, well built. But, I don't think any Starbucks are 3 levels... Maybe just 2 or even the one?.. It seems like all modular MOCs are 3 storys. You did a great job on the building, don't get me wrong. I like the use of studs to represent a stack of cups.

I just went the missing pieces route from Lego.com. Thanks for the replies people. Mods do what you will with this, it's run it's course.

If you're going for a modern day town, I'm not sure most of those sets will work. Now, the castle COULD work as a Medevial Times restaurant. And having those few racetrack plates look a little weird and out of place to me. I understand though, you have to make due with what you have, especially with those streets. Overall, I'd say you have a good start going and your layout looks pretty cool. I envy people who have a room for a city like this.
