  1. OoC: I advised the whole group to attack different people, Diana included, and hopefully since I had a longish conversation, Diana will listen to me. That should take care of that. If he doesn't reply before the battle is over, I'll probably give him a bit less. But remember, battles can last for weeks in RL time, se he'll likely reply soon. Actaeon notices Yuji looking around, unsure of what to do, "Daeth, try your best to heal us! If you can't, target the Juvenile Hippogriff from the back row." OoC: This is me taking control of Daeth since it has been 24 hours. I'm also hoping that you have Diana attack an enemy who is not yet targeted, and who is a high level so we don't take a lot of free hit damage. She's a smart girl, she'd do that, right?
  2. Actaeon concentrates as he speaks to the Phoenix, "Phoenix, what has my party done to deserve the wrath of you and your allies? Whatever it is, I promise you, we will do our best to reverse it. We don't want to fight you!"
  3. "Warlen, remember, we don't want to give them an extra free hit. Maybe have Nicole target the Enraged Gryphon so that our highest level enemy doesn't get a free hit on us?" OoC: Can I try using my job trait to ask them a question before we fight them? Or must I use that as a turn?
  4. OoC: Does that mean if we roll special damage while fighting this we get this? Or is that meant to say "allies" instead of enemies? Also, how did TheChosenMinifigure end up with Nicole? Not objecting, I'm just curious. Actaeon quickly springs to action. He jumps to the back row and aims at the Cavern Dragonling with his bow. "We need to kill the Phoenix before some of the others so he can't revive his allies. As the biggest hitter, Siercon, are you willing to target Phoenix? And remember guys, don't target the same people, we don't want to give them more free hits. We can focus targets down after they aren't hitting us with free hits." OoC: I'm suggesting the second bold part to the whole group, Diana included. Order of Action- Stealth Shadow Kiray Nastayo Diana N. Justus Siercon Nicole Telsa The Demon Germ Actaeon Artus Warlen Melimane and Quarion Yuji Daeth OoC: Please feel free to give battle advice. My strategy as of now is to put our tanks first so that they can absorb the free hits. I'm also hoping that the people targeting the enemies with specials that could harm their surrounding allies (in the battle order) will be the people with higher health. I also put Yuji in the back so that if he can heal us, it will be after damage is dealt.
  5. Tell me it's not worse than Shadeaux.
  6. Actaeon takes in what Diana says. He waits for a moment before speaking. "Sometimes," he says, slowly, "people are cowards. Sometimes they choose too look the opposite way instead of helping because that's the easiest thing to do. If Dragonlord's head was turned back to The Hovels, maybe he would make the right choice when the time comes. Maybe not." He pauses. "We help the houses because if we didn't, the whole of Dastan could be destroyed. We can't leave these people to die. Maybe sometime there will be a time when we can go and help those that have been forced to live in The Hovels. Until then, we have to do our best to help the people that we can." Again, Actaeon felt that his words were all wrong. He'd grown up in a poor town, and he'd seen some horrible things. Things he'd wished that someone could have stopped, someone like a hero from Heroica. He could relate to Diana in that way, but yet he had never been to The Hovels. He could only imagine how bad it was. It did make him angry that people didn't change things, but he also realized that sometimes situations require patience and tact. It makes so much sense in my head, why can't I form them into words? he thinks, frustrated.
  7. "I understand. My father is one of those people. He wants to make the world better. He wants to do it by being kind to people, giving to the poor, and by believing in each other. The thing is, despite the fact that sometimes it takes more than that, I wouldn't be here without him. He believed in me, and he showed me that I had what it takes to be someone." Actaeon sighs. He's never been too great with words, "My point is, that despite Dragonlord, your mother, and my father not understanding, we need them. Without them, we would be making the tough decisions for no reason. We make the decisions for them. We make sacrifices for the people that can't." Actaeon shook his head. He felt that he hadn't been able to say what he meant. Words were a tricky thing. Remembering the her question, he replies, "No, I have not been there. What's it like?"
  8. Actaeon listens carefully to Diana's conversation with Dragonlord as he admires the splendid view. He wasn't sure where he stood on the issue. Kill a few to save many? Or risk the lives of many to save a few? After a moment, he finally came to a conclusion. I will do what I need to save the citizens of Dastan and guarantee the success of my-er, our quest. Walking up to Diana after Siecron he says, "I will do absolutely everything I can to bring them both back. However, if it comes to the point where we must choose between their lives and the lives of others, I believe that I will have the strength to make the right choice. Especially if there are others to help make the decision." He finishes the sentence looking at Diana. He holds eye contact, waiting for her reply. OoC: You used my map! :D
  9. OoC: We should probably wait for Flipz before we get on. He might have a specific way to get on (I.E. A ladder, or something).
  10. "We're ready to go. However, I would like to know what the 'Stealth Shadow' is." OoC: Nice job Samuraiturtle!
  11. Actaeon turns his head toward Diana and whispers, "Perhaps you are right, but would you really risk arriving in Dastan only to find it obliterated? We can't arrive late, and you know that!" Looking at the doctor, he says, "It's a shame, doctor, I'm sure we could use you." Then, to Kiray he says, "We may be needing that chaotic bomb very soon, but it's up to you." Finally, to Nicole, "Take your time to prepare. Though we're in a hurry, we want to be sure everything is in order and... safe," he says, finishing the sentence looking between Kiray and Diana.
  12. While the others are introducing themselves to the doctor, Actaeon talks to Diana in a low voice, "You know you're allowed to give suggestions, right? I'm sure that you have many opinions. With your experience, I'm sure we could use them. Turning to the doctor, "Hello, Doctor, my name is Actaeon Artus, and I am the party's leader. This is Diane N. Justus, our skilled Ace Assassin." Actaeon raises and eyebrow at the abrupt change of subject to heights. He had to admit, he too was curious, but Kiray seemed desperate. "Doctor, will you be traveling with us?" OOC: I don't know if I need to introduce NPC's in our party or not. If not, I'd prefer you ignore that part :P
  13. How late do you think it might be? I have to sleep early tonight because I have to travel early tomorrow morning.
  14. Yeah, I noticed that too. Looks like we'll have a large amount of back line action :P
  15. That's fine, take your time. If it's after about 6 Eurobrick time, I might not be able to reply until later in the night (11-12ish).
  16. Actaeon eyes Daeth as he approaches the group. As upsetting as Daeth's late arrival is, Actaeon is grateful that the cleric arrived in time to leave. He suspects that they will be needing a cleric on the quest "We're to track down two rogue dragoons before they get dragons and wreak havoc. The fastest way to catch up to them is by airship. We'll be leaving very soon," Actaeon summarizes, "Welcome, by the way," he adds after a moment.
  17. Actaeon exhales deeply. Traveling inside an untested airship was completely against his judgement. However, he felt that they had no choice. "Captain Bartholomew, it was a pleasure meeting you," he says, extending his hand for the man to shake, "I hope that we will someday cross paths again. I also hope you understand that with the situation at hand, we really have no choice but to decline your generous offer." Turning to the others, he says, "We will be taking the airship. Speed is imperative. We can't risk getting there too late. Too much can happen in just a few days."
  18. "I appreciate your deference, and I agree with you. I was leaning more toward going with the Captain until he said that he would not likely be helpful in Dastan itself. If that is the case, I think that his crew will only be useful in our travels there. Since Nicole can hopefully make the voyage much shorter, I think that an experienced crew won't be as big of an advantage as speed. If anyone has any objections, voice them now, otherwise, we'll be taking the airship."
  19. "Interesting idea. I don't know if Dragonlord would be too happy to have to pay extra money for an additional ship. I also don't think we'll find them as quickly as you suggested. They won't necessarily be expecting us. Even if they were, I get the feeling that they'll be busy trying to find their dragons, and if they already have them, trying to master the art of flying them." Turning to Dragonlord, Actaeon asks, "Do they know we are being sent after them?" "If they do not, it would be unnecessary to take both. And if the airship can actually fly without crashing, I see no reason to take Bartholomew's ship. Unless we could be attacked from the air by something else." Actaeon waits for a moment for his companions to respond. Perhaps they could think of other dangers the airship might hold.
  20. Bartholomew sounds professional? I don't know
  21. "Thank you, Dragonlord, for your willingness to pay for our voyage. Before we decide, I would like to ask if there is anything else we should know about the Dragoons, the region we will be traveling to, or really anything else regarding the quest." Turning to Nicole and Captain Bartholomew, he says, "Nicole, you have an airship. Is it actually safe? I understand it hasn't been tested. How you can possibly know that it will get us to our destination without crashing or blowing to pieces? Captain Bartholomew, how fast can your ship travel? I understand your ship is more battle-ready and obviously less likely to crash. This is very comforting, but it might not matter if we get there too late." Actaeon notices Siecron glance at Nicole, eyes slightly wider than usual. It looks like he's made his decision. Actaeon looks at the rest of the party, hoping they will give input and/or voice their questions/concerns.
  22. Actaeon shoots both Warlen and Quarion a glare, as if to say, "Now is not the time for this." Besides, he thinks to himself, puns are my job. He ignores Kiray's comment, hoping that she saw him give the other two the glare.
  23. I was getting there, Actaeon thinks, but he nods in agreement, "We need to know anything that could help us persuade them."
  24. Am I the only one that finds it really difficult to understand Count Shadeaux? In #104, if the other members do not contact you within 72 hours, what happens?
  25. "Just to clarify, we're to find Darius and Sirone, and talk them into returning to their training? What if we cannot? Are we to attempt... other tactics?" He pauses, thinking back over what the count had said. "Are the two of them still traveling together? You said that they were reported them having a quarrel, how long ago was this?" OoC- Sorry if I ask some questions that were already answered above. The count's accent is so hard to understand
