Heroica RPG - Quest #104: Ace Assassin: Dual Dragoons
Actaeon replied to Flipz's topic in The Heroica Archive
Actaeon remains silent for a moment. I failed us. I tore intro Kiray for her initiation and then into Diana. I accused them and then paid the price. What have I done? He manages to pull himself from his thoughts to speak to Mallelio, "Mallelio, you have done so much for us. I don't think we have the strength or the..." Actaeon stops for a moment, "or the wisdom to continue without you." Actaeon thinks to himself while the rest of the part converses. Actaeon, you must continue. You must move on from your actions, take control of yourself, and move on. Quit now and you disappoint everyone and you prove your mother was right all along. Your father's hard work will have gone to waste and you will have amounted to nothing. No. You cannot allow this to happen. You cannot. You must lead this quest and it must be successful. Turning to the party, Actaeon begins to speak. He begins by looking to Kiray directly, "I am sorry," he says, as genuinely as possible, "I shouldn't have doubted you. I let you go talk to the maniac by yourself because I knew you could handle it. I knew it could amount to a fight, but I was... angry. I don't expect you to forgive me, but I do hope you understand that I am sorry and that I am very grateful that you woke me before the fight was over." Taking a deep breath, he turns to Diana. He gathers his thoughts before he speaks, "I am sorry. You saved us from this battle with two assassinations. You can handle yourself and your judgement and your abilities are clearly excellent." Actaeon quickly divides the loot. "Getting knocked out is something I would never again like to experience. With that said, would you all be willing to allow me to have the Robe of the Dastanian Pongcanis Champion? I am willing to give you my gold from this battle and the previous battle for it." -

Well that went very poorly for Actaeon. KingoftheZempk, if you could revive me, that'd be pretty awesome. I'd very much like to level up Plus I did give you the item to use on this quest since you got the armor -

OoC: Question: Mallelio is way smarter than to heal someone at 15 health rather than someone knocked out! Wouldn't he have healed me? Second question: can I drink a potion while I am knocked out? Third question: Who is the secondary party leader? Daeth, seeing that the party leader knocked out, tries to heal Actaeon. -

Actaeon opens his mouth to shout something back at Diana but closes it just in time. Idiot! his mind screams at him, way to get in a fight with the only two girls in the party. Now she's mad and you've made a fool of yourself. Way to impress a girl, Actaeon. He pauses after the last thought. Alarmed, he pushes it out of his mind and concentrates on his shot. -

Actaeon glares at Kiray, "I've moved on from that, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to strategize," he says, calmly, "But, you need to keep yourself in check, especially considering that you got us into this fight in the first place." he finishes, his voice still level, but very, very icy. -
Nothing that bad yet, but Actaeon can be... well we'll see. But still, I just wanted to be clear :P

"What are you talking about?" Actaeon shouts, angrily, despite the good start on the battle, "You are obviously skilled, considering you just assassinated an enemy, and I have clearly shown that I 'believe in you'! However, there is this thing called probability, and the more people we have targeting the guy, the more likely we are to get swiped, which we just did!" he glares at her for a moment before turning away, shaking his head. He pauses to think about the next round. "Warlen, save your ether for the next round. I would suggest you attack Tarban from the back row with your staff. We need someone on him, and you are almost out of ether. Everybody else, target the other one." Unless Diana feels like trying to kill an invincible beast, he thinks, bitterly. Order of Action Actaeon Germ Diana Kiray Siecron U'Voros Warlen Mellelio Daeth -
I just want to apologize ahead of time, the way Actaeon acts is much different than my own behavior. It's just role-play, I swear!

Come on! Actaeon thinks, I'm the party leader, do what I say! "We don't want the brute to kill us all with his special! I'm sure we can kill him in five rounds with Siercon, Kiray, and U'Voros on him!" -

OoC: Mellelio is using his turn to heal U'voros, I assume? Actaeon grits his teeth, "Next time, if you know a battle is about to begin, maybe inform us instead of going off by yourself to go talk to the one guy who will start the fight!" He focuses on the battle, "As before, we need the big hitters on the leader. That means U'Voros, Kiray, Siecron and Mellelio when he's finished healing U'Voros. For this round, I suggest the first three target Tarban. Diana, I assumes you want the Unarmed Pongcanis Warrior due the gold and the chance of assassinating a larger target. The rest of us, just split up between the two others," he says, targeting the Pongcanis Axeman with his bow from the back row. Order of Action Actaeon Germ Warlen Diana Kiray Siecron U'Voros Mellelio Daeth -

OoC: Dang, I was going to approach before this happened, but I didn't comment in time :( Actaeon sprints forward to Kiray's aid, "Follow me!" He stands behind the knight and attacks the only target from the back row with his bow. "That was well handled," he says to her, annoyed, as he enters the battle, "Perhaps next time try not to anger the extremely powerful beast." OoC: Should I do the order now that I am in battle? -

For some reason, the whole situation seemed a bit laughable to Actaeon. He couldn't help but continue to smile. This is such an odd way to fight. I understand the importance of politics, but I don't understand the idle threats and the "I could totally dominate you" statements. They talk big, but I wonder how they'd do in a fight. The big fellow could never "rip her from limp to limb" in this situation. He would barely raise an arm before I shoot him, the mages blast him, and the rest finish him off. Feeling a bit comforted by his own thoughts, Actaeon decides that maybe this situation could yield some information. "Nemor, how did you three get chosen as representatives to come and appeal?" he asked. -

Actaeon was starting to understand. He smiled at the Freudian Slip. Got yourself in a hole there, buddy. He kept his silence still, though. Kiray can handle it. Besides, I don't do politics. -

Actaeon listens as Siecron speaks. That was well handled, he thinks, admiring his tact. Suddenly the situation takes a sudden turn when Kiray demands that they surrender the weapons and empty their pockets. Actaeon stares at her, very, very confused. What just happened? I thought Siecron had that handled? Trusting the knight, Actaeon keeps his silence and looks back at the three who had approached them. I must have missed something. Dangit. I must have. Things like this can't happen, Actaeon! -

Actaeon realizes that the conversation is over. Now all his party needs is some rest or something to substitute rest. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #104: Ace Assassin: Dual Dragoons
Actaeon replied to Flipz's topic in The Heroica Archive
Actaeon makes his decision after hearing what all the other heroes (excluding the ever silent Daeth) had to say, "We will stop by the Rito settlement. As much as I would like to get to the dragoons quickly, I'd rather no be incinerated. We need some better weapons. Also, I feel that me and my party could use some rest. If that will take too long, something to bring us to full health and ether will do. I get the feeling we'll need our strength for the road." Some nice weapons will certainly be good, Actaeon thinks. I just hope we can get to the dragoons before this quest is considered a bitter failure. OoC: should be back home Friday afternoon. Sorry for the unbolded decisions. There is nothing I can do about it :( Suddenly aware of the other half of the conversation, Actaeon adds his thoughts to the mix, "We have to get their attention, I agree. I think that killing one would do the job, but I think that maybe we could instead find someone from their past and, how do I say this, ransom them? It could be a better way to get their attention than killing one." -

Actaeon considers their options. We'll need better weapons, but, yet again, time is of the essence. Before making the decision, he turns to Diana, "what is your opinion?" Turning toward The Emperor and the others he asks, "You talk as if there is no option but to fight. But I think we can still try to reason with them. Is there anyone who could help us persuade them?" Ooc: sorry, on my phone so I can't change font colors. Also, try to ignore phone typos -

Actaeon tries to absorb as much as he can about the map. Then, he looks at Mallelio and says, "Is there anything in particular we should be aware of when talking to the Emperor? Is there anything we should or shouldn't mention?" -

Actaeon looks at Diana slightly annoyed and confused. That's the point I'm making. He thinks, but doesn't say anything. Dragonlord had made it clear that the subject was done being discussed. Realizing that the ship is about to land, Actaeon remembers his manners, "Thank you again, Nicole and Shadow, for your help. You got us here in one piece, despite our doubts and despite the battle. I wish you luck in your travels and in your search to find the culprit." Assuming it wasn't one of us, Actaeon thinks, bitterly.
