  1. In the banner for the town forum there is a yellow building with a round window in white. Can anyone identify what piece(s) are used to make that round window? It looks like a wheel of some sort but I cant identify which one.
  2. I think a Barber Shop/Hairdresser would be cool. Could include 2 hairdressers, 2 customers (one male and one female) and a whole pile of different hair pieces. I would buy one for the hair pieces alone.
  3. That would be this piece http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6023 Seen in some Blacktron II sets and in a Space Port set.
  4. I have noticed that cheese slopes (mostly dark bley) on my bus MOCs have cracks of various degrees. I have actually had at least one or 2 dark bley slopes break completly because of this. These MOCs have just been sitting there with no specific pressure put on the slopes. All the evidence I have seen suggests that there is a specific weakness in this element. I wonder if LEGO can re-design either the element or the plastic formulation to make it stronger without making it less usable. Also if anyone has any idea how to stop these parts breaking short of "dont keep things built" please speak up.
  5. If you dont count the printing, the new parts seem to be: Blue boxing gloves and headgear Blue barbel weight White 3l rod/barbel center White swimming cap Black equestrian helmet I think some of the hair may be in new colors too although I cant be sure. (tennis player, judo fighter, archer)
  6. I just love all the new stuff, still need to order some of the trans-bits from the last batch of new stuff. I hope one day BrickForge decides to do medical and rescue type gear (If someone did such things I would be buying a whole pile of it for my hospital :)
  7. I think the Grandfather Clock would have looked better if it didn't have the tan 2 x 2 round plate sitting behind the 2 x 2 printed clock tile.
  8. I always take the time to choose an expression for each Minifig I use in my MOCs. I tend to choose hair and heads together so they match up based on what sort of fig I want.
  9. At $89.99AU for the Helicopter Rescue I dont know if I will be buying one (although I do like the new Doctor and wish I could get about 6 of them :)
  10. Overhead view of the ground floor http://www.cncmods.net/files/IMG_0154med.JPG View of the main ER area http://www.cncmods.net/files/IMG_0155med.JPG Trauma Room with ER doctors working on a patient. In one corner is an X-Ray light box to view X-Rays, at the top of the picture is a crash cart with a defibrillator, at the bottom of the picture is a monitor machine (to monitor heart rate/rhythm, blood oxygen etc) and next to that is an IV stand. In the middle (positioned over the patient) is a portable X-Ray machine. http://www.cncmods.net/files/IMG_0156med.JPG Main ER ward, a guy with a broken bone is in the room and a female ER doctor is coming in to see him with his X-Rays. http://www.cncmods.net/files/IMG_0157med.JPG Main waiting area and admissions desk. A male nurse is talking to the son of the guy in the other picture (with the blue overalls on) about his fathers condition. The son is a "Clutchers" fan and is wearing a baseball cap. Also visible is a TV screen on the wall plus the admissions officer, a stack of charts waiting for doctors to deal with them plus a radio used to communicate with emergency service vehicles. A paramedic is coming up to the admit desk to steal one of the Donuts in the white box next to the telephone. http://www.cncmods.net/files/IMG_0158med.JPG http://www.cncmods.net/files/IMG_0159med.JPG http://www.cncmods.net/files/IMG_0160med.JPG Front view of the ground floor. The hospital has a RediATM ATM out the front. http://www.cncmods.net/files/IMG_0162med.JPG Also visible in the overhead shot of the first floor is the elevator (small area next to the trauma room doors) and the pharmacy/drug locker where doctors go to get medication they need to treat people and where patients go to get the medication their doctor has prescribed for them. (area between the elevator and the ambulance bay) Overhead view of the second floor. http://www.cncmods.net/files/IMG_0163med.JPG Radiology department with CT scanner and X-Ray machine. In the corner you can see the sink where the surgeons wash up before surgery, there is also a surgical lamp, a heart-lung machine (with the dials and the red circles where the blood is being pumped), an anesthetic machine and a display screen displaying important information to the surgeon (including a chest scan of the patient). There is also a clock on the wall (to let the surgeons know how long they have left to finish the operation before it starts getting riskier) and a radio for surgeons to listen to music whilst they operate. In the surgeons hand is a surgical tool and the new heart (about to be transplanted in). http://www.cncmods.net/files/IMG_0165med.JPG Hospital administrators office. http://www.cncmods.net/files/IMG_0166med.JPG Doctors lounge with coffee machine, TV set and several doctors on break. http://www.cncmods.net/files/IMG_0167med.JPG Regular ward with a patient and a nurse. The hospital IT guy is currently doing some work on the servers. http://www.cncmods.net/files/IMG_0175med.JPG Medical lab. Contains autoclaves to sterilize medical equipment, petri dishes with medical samples, sink, storage holding samples, microscope, centrifuges, incubator, fume hood for working on dangerous specimens and computer terminal for accessing important information. There is also a large refrigerator in the middle holding chemicals, samples and other things. http://www.cncmods.net/files/IMG_0176med.JPG Hospital roof with incinerator smokestack and air-conditioning/ventilation/filtering system. http://www.cncmods.net/files/IMG_0177med.JPG I am currently building a 6-wide medivac helicopter (mostly white with bits of red) to sit on the helipad and also a 6-wide Ambulance. I am also adding final touches to the hospital itself (like some signage) Please let me know what you think about my hospital and please give me any feedback on what I can do to make it more realistic.
  11. Does anyone know what the typical retail markup here in Australia is? (i.e. the %difference between wholesale and RRP)
  12. $90 for the helicopter rescue? What a rip-off :( Bet its so expensive because its going to be a store exclusive and those always cost more than regular sets (look at what the Bank cost)
  13. I am liking this theme more and more. The Castle looks great and I just LOVE that pipe organ (although the only link I can find between Vampires and Pipe Organs is the Count on Sesame Street)
  14. But that's 20% off the TRU-marked-up price so its not really a good deal :)
  15. Has anyone seen any really good deals on last years Marina set? It has some nice minifigs and parts in it and might be worth picking up if I can do so cheap :)
  16. The medical center (I concur that its way too small to be called a hospital) looks good. Wish I could get hold of a few of that new Doctor :( The Octan service station and parking garage looks good too although I have a strong feeling its going to be expensive and hard-to-get (much like the Public Transit set was a few years back :(
  17. K-Mart in Booragoon has about 8 boxes or so of Series 7. (minus the 3 bagpipers I snagged today :) MYER has Marvel and one box of S7.
  18. Typical, S7 goes on sale AFTER I buy 15 of em :(
  19. K-Mart Inaloo had a fairly full box of S7 too. But after me and someone else picked it, all the good stuff is gone :)
  20. One comeback if the parents say "we think you are too old for LEGO" is (depending on the parents and on the age of the FOL) to say "would you rather I spent the money on booze/smokes/loud annoying music/whatever?"
  21. I am loving the Computer Programmer (got 2 so far) and the hair on the tennis player. Still need to get my hand on those sweet sweet bagpipes (the box I found today had none left)
  22. The Haunted House could be a set similar to the Joust or the Imperial Flagship or other cases of d2c or really large sets being made for specific themes.
  23. Remember that LEGO designers can often get hold of things mere mortals cant. For example this has a trans-orange dome that has never been in a set as well as other not-seen-in-sets trans-orange parts.
  24. Found a picked-clean box of S7 at K-Mart in Belmont. Ended up with 2 computer programmers, a tennis player and a daredevil. Definitely want to get my hands on some Bagpipers once I find another box :) Big W at Riverton had S4/5/6 but no S7. Big W at Belmont only had S4 (quite a few though, it was up the front near the checkouts)
  25. Looks like I ought to hit some Big W stores then if that's where S7 is available :) Anyone know what price Big W is charging for them?
