Not sure if anyone else has seen it but all 3 of the new creator sets (the orange helicopter, beach house and big-rig truck) are in the K-Mart catalog for LESS than US RRP. So if you want em, the K-Mart sale is definatly the time to buy em. Near as I can tell, the new-for-2012 City stuff in the K-Mart catalog seems bang on US RRP too.

Is that $55 price RRP or is it a sale price? And if its a sale price, what is RRP?

Anyone know who has the NinjaGo mecha set during the sales and at what price? Looks like it might be an interesting parts pack...

An old-fashioned diver with the big fishbowl helmet would be cool and would compliment the more modern diver in Series 1. I doubt the "trader" will be a stock trader (it doesn't sound like the sort of thing TLG would make) I think its clear the footballer will be an American football player, if it was another soccer player it would have soccer in the name like the last one. I suspect it will have either the same shoulder pads as the Ice Hockey player or a new set and that it will have the same helmet and mask. For an accessory, probably a 1 x 1 round brick in brown to represent a football (although a new mold that fits over the hand in the way a 1 x 1 round brick does but is more football shaped would be cool, especially since it could then potentially be used for a Rugby ball or Aussie Rules Footy ball) The DJ would most likely come with a printed 2 x 2 round tile with a record pattern and maybe a microphone. The fairy may come with the old classic wand piece (with the star on top)

What I really need is a working 64-bit driver for the IR tower, none of the suggestions in this post seem to indicate one exists.

The Helms Deep pricing in the Big W catalog seems to be the best available price right now, better than what MYER has it at. And they seem to have learned from the Imperial Shuttle last year and are offering a $200 discount on the SSD. And yes I may also be tempted by the Helicopter Rescue at that price (its probably the biggest discount we will see on that set for a few months at least) Who is selling Olivia's House at 35% off? And whats the best discount on the Creator beach house? Anyone got a local release date for the next wave of Friends? (riding stable etc)

Nice, the SABR shotgun is perfect for police forces (or for any number of Hollywood action heroes) And the Flintlock Musket would be perfect for some Australian Colonial era redcoat troopers for a project I had in mind (at least I think it would be perfect, I am not up on my Australian history enough to know whether the redcoats at that time would have been using flintlock muskets or some sort of rifle)

I have a RIS 2.0 set with a USB IR tower and I am running Windows 7 x64, is there a way I can use my RCX with this setup?

The LOTR Mines of Moria set is a good source of dark bley (and if you dont like the figs you can always sell them off to someone and get back part of the cost of the set) I bought that set for exactly that reason (the dark bley)

As someone who has relatives that own a sheep station, I would say that a sheep would be my #1 wish. Followed by a Giraffe, Rabbit (true minifig scale rather than the Friends scale of the Friends rabbit. Bonus points if it can somehow be made to fit into/with the Top Hat piece for a magic act :), Lobster/Crayfish (designed so it can be used as animal or as food) and kangaroo

This set is awesome and even if you dont like haunted houses specifically it is still a great parts pack or starting point for your own MOC.

Interesting to see that the notes on the music tile actually form a proper tune (unlike the notes on the music tile from that one Spongebob set)

WOW that is a nice set. Looking at the pricing doesn't give me high-hopes for what the Australian price will be though. Maybe someone will get it in during next years sales (same as how Aussie stores have gotten other big d2c sets like the Emerald Night, UCS R2-D2, VW Bus, Tower Bridge etc etc)

TRU cannington has helms dceep, moria and urukhai army plus new sw and the cars oil rig plus the funhouse and tru truck. Plus hogwarts express and potc. And one public transport. myer cannington has nothing. kmart has new sw. target has new sw incvluding one r2.

Great review, I will probably pick this set up as its the cheapest way to get the One Ring and Frodo plus its got Sam and Gollum.

its a rip-off when a store has a %off all full-priced LEGO and then sells expensive sets at a price that's less than the %off. The trick is to know the RRP of sets and to know whether the discount is actually good value or not (any AFOL who buys the larger LOTR sets at anything less than 20% off for example is getting ripped off)

Bought Helms Deep and Mines of Moria today, great parts packs. Any of the other sets worth buying for parts if you aren't particularly interested in the minifigs? Looking for dark grey parts in particular...

Just got back from MYER Morley. Yes they had LOTR and yes they sold it to me at 25% off. Far as I can recall, they still have one Helms Deep and some of the Uruk-Hai army, I think the Mines of Moria I bought was the last one. They also had at least one London Bridge set. Didn't see any VWs. Don't bother with Perth CBD, they didn't have any stock as of Sunday and probably still don't have any on sale. Toys R Us Morley had the Uruk-Hai army, no sign of any of the others that I saw. Didn't notice anything else new or interesting (wasn't paying attention to Star Wars though so I may have missed it)

I am not 100% sure on this but I believe LEGO have said they wont do religious buildings. Modular brewery is also out as I believe LEGO have a policy against alcohol in modern settings. If the interior was as good as the Grand Emporium, a modular hospital would be awesome, much better than the lame excuse for a hospital we are getting this year...

What about the Super Star Destroyer, any rumors of that coming to oz? Town Hall will probably follow the Grand Emporium and Pet Shop and appear at David Jones later in the year. Also any rumors on who will get the LOTR Orc Forge or the Monster Fighters Exclusive? (the zombie graveyard IIRC)

At least I know there is at least one store in Perth where LOTR has been sighted so I am hopeful I can get some. Brickton, have you checked with other stores in the Brisbane area? Maybe one of those has stock...

Looks like my decision to pick up $220 worth of MYER vouchers (buy $200 get $20 free) should pretty much cover the cost of both sets during Tuesday's 25% off sale (unless someone has bought all the stock before I get there or some guy in a suit somewhere has directed MYER staff to remove LOTR from the shelves to prevent exactly the kind of amazing deal I am looking at)
