  1. He may have been referring to when they would be physically in stores - for example, when I called asking about the Haunted House, I was told it wouldn’t be in stores until mid July due to online order volume. That being said, this does lend credence to an August release date in the US... Guess I’ll have to do what I did last year and order them all from this one Bricklink store in Germany that has them all available for sale now at deep discount compared to retail (so much so that shipping from there to here doesn’t even begin to bridge the gap of money saved by buying the whole wave)
  2. I feel like this is almost certainly the case: Marvel wants to really push this game, it seems, and it’s definitely not entirely up to LEGO what types of stuff they can include. Now, designers have made a case to Disney in the past to specifically go against the original plan (For Rogue One, Disney/Star Wars wanted them to make the cargo shuttle the big set, but LEGO convinced them Krennic’s shuttle would make a cooler looking toy). I’m guessing convincing them to be allowed to make sets off of old movies is much harder to do so, though. Probably the same reason why the Jurassic theme is so focused on Jurassic World characters, despite being comprised of basically unique stuff in this “off season.”
  3. Thanks for giving us a deeper insight on this, appreciate it! What you’ve said makes total sense - and if bright red tested better with kids, that is all that matters for sure.
  4. The dark red engine in the picture looked stunning; it’s such a shame that version didn’t come to fruition. It would have made this stand out against so many other fire trucks of the past.
  5. Oh geez, that’s a big shame - they’re such quality sets too on par with Ninjago Movie level sets. I wonder what’s the strategy with pricing here. I know sets are much more expensive retail in Asia/China when converting to USD; perhaps LEGO priced the sets for that market first and used those as a metric for conversion?
  6. Looks like the sets are already making their way to official LEGO stores; @just2good seems to have discovered some already. Hoping this means that tomorrow’s announcement means sets are coming out in the next few days!
  7. I wonder when the sets will be released... The press release is coming on May 15, but I am curious if that means sets will also release then, or if they'll come out June 1 or anytime in between.
  8. Season 13’s description is out! What’s most exciting is Cole uncovering the truth behind the sudden and tragic loss of a loved one. I think this is where we finally discover the story behind his parents!
  9. This is great news! Anyone spot anything cool or new that’s been added?
  10. Yes, that is 100% the only reason why it exists, but it doesn't make sense from a story standpoint to have them introduce this exceptionally useful concept that they can apparently do anytime they want with no warm-up or level of concentration, have them use it fairly regularly throughout S6-7, and then just have them not use it with no explanation post S8. Don't get me wrong, it was ridiculously OP and I prefer it to no longer exist, but literally a single line in the show would have explained it. I get that Tommy is making his canon-adjacent story on this, but I'd appreciate a small explanation in show.
  11. I think technically March of the Oni is the shortest season, clocking in at four 20-minute episodes. Agreed with your thoughts on Airjitzu - when I saw it in the trailers, I thought that we could finally get a throwaway line about why they can't use it anymore. Heck, I would have been satisfied with Jay saying something like "too bad we can't use it anymore" and leaving it at that. Instead, it gets featured but none of the ninja react to it or its absence other than "Hey I think this gives us Airjitzu." It's mind-boggling to me, especially given fans have been complaining about the show's lack of addressing this and it would have been the perfect moment to do so.
  12. It feels odd to me that LEGO is so insistent to stick to stuff that was released as a set in the past, while there are so many other opportunities for sets and vehicles that weren’t done before. And not only that, but they also seem insistent on not giving any new or desirable characters that we missed out on during that time. I understand the need to make the majority of the figures marketable, popular characters, but in a set like Cole’s Earth Driller, for example, with space for a good number of figures, why not make one of them Dr. Julien? Why not include Cyrus Borg in any of the Legacy Rebooted sets? By the time Legacy hits Tournament of Elements (they’ve already started a bit with Lloyd’s buggy), I wouldn’t hold out any hope for new Elemental Masters we haven’t gotten before, just redesigned Anacondrai Cultists. It’s just bizarre to me how there’s so much potential here that seems limited by insisting on only releasing what’s come before.
  13. So... all of Prime Empire has aired in English.
  14. I’m willing to bet this is because first and foremost, LEGO wants to make toys that kids want to play with, and frankly Endgame wasn’t very Avengers/vehicle heavy. As much as I want to get updated, MCU accurate figures, it’s hard to think of builds that kids would like to play with that they could sell. As much as I personally want a large Chitauri flying creature, kids would probably much rather have a similarly sized “hero” vehicle with Avengers branding than a villain creature. And while there are a few hero sets that could be made into builds, like Valkyrie’s horse and Giant Man, they’re not as marketable builds or characters as an Avengers branded truck, motorcycle, Jeep, etc (or at least that’s what LEGO seems to believe). Honestly, our best bet at getting retroactive MCU stuff is with a CMF, which is now possible due to licensing agreement changes. It’s the most logical place to put updates of MCU characters everyone wants, but LEGO can’t think of a vehicle or set to go with them. Really hoping this is a possibility in the future...
  15. Some of the helix series shaping, especially in the midsection and the front looks alright, but it’s weighed down by some really odd design choices - why are the rotors elevated by a brick thick cylinder? Why are the wings on the side so thin with no effort made to slope them? Why is the back exposed, and if it’s to reveal a big gun or something, why not cover it up better? For $130 this really isn’t doing it for me, sadly. Monkie Kid has so much better, consistent builds with really unique and interesting shaping for a similar age range; I don’t get why these just aren’t good.
  16. I’m really hoping this is a sign that they are giving us physical boss ghosts this wave. The previous waves had such a good designs for the bosses that it was such a waste not to get any of them in physical form.
  17. This is because the retailer that posted them, skvis.no, only posted these pictures for some reason. Agreed - I think this box art is the perfect way to complement the sets and make the look better without overshadowing them. Hopefully Hidden Side takes a few design cues - these are so much better.
  18. Are the prices due to currency conversion? I was willing to accept some of them, but not the majority - really hoping those are cheaper in the US.
  19. The blue rubber bands at the bottom of the Spinjitzu Burst sets, presumably to make the figure "Burst" out of the spinner, is really off-putting, unfortunately. Reminds me of the earlier X-Wings that had massive blue exposed rubber bands, before they fixed it by hiding them in the newer models. Other than those oddities, the sets themselves and particularly the box art look really interesting. The FireStone Mech is one of the best mechs we've seen from the theme, but unfortunately a bit overshadowed by the colossal Monkie Kid mechs leaked yesterday. As for Journey to the Skull Dungeons, I think it's a case of the box art making it look a lot better than it actually is. Still waiting for a better, clearer look at what exactly is included, but the build doesn't look too special. Looking forward to seeing the rest though; from the leaks, the large skull fortress and some of the other sets look much more interesting.
  20. So hyped for this and love seeing Bionicle get a comeback in any way, shape, or form. Myself (and apparently one of the creators of Bionicle, Christian Faber), will be following this very closely.
  21. Gonna be honest, I'm not looking forward too much to this. Universal doesn't have the best track record for making good animated movies, and is especially notorious for producing and animating films on the lowest budget possible, with reused assets, scenery, etc. While the Second Part was not as good as the first film, and the Batman and Ninjago movies had increasingly diminishing returns, this feels like a steep downgrade. I really hope the animation style at least stays the same or similar to the style of the previous films, but who knows what will happen at this point.
  22. @Ninja_whip mentioned they’re coming very soon, but seeing how hard LEGO cracked down on the Monkey kid “leaks” (which weren’t even leaks, they were from an official retailer), I’m not sure if people are going to be willing to put accounts at jeopardy to post them so soon.
  23. Prices are rough. This is really unfortunate as all the sets look fantastic, the likes of which we haven’t seen before in non-blockbuster movie themed sets, like the Ninjago movie sets, for example. Shame the prices aren’t nearly as good as those - $120 for the Inferno Truck is particularly egregious to me. I can forgive steep prices for the mechs because we haven’t really seen anything that detailed and that large and impressive before, save for Voltron which had zero articulation and was pretty blocky in retrospect. But the truck for $120 and even the $35 bike I’m not really seeing the value there.
  24. That mech is gorgeous. LEGO really went all-out for this theme. Wonder when the sets are actually releasing.
  25. Apparently due to really poor sales, which is really sad because the follow-up original space theme, Galaxy Squad, sold so abysmally that these two were the final nails in the original Space theme coffin. What is good is that you can clearly see some design elements from these cancelled sets translate directly into Galaxy Squad, with that crawling alien vehicle clearly being the Hive Crawler. Where Hidden Side is concerned, I’m curious if any potentially cancelled future sets will eventually crop up in some form or another like this. I’m guessing the odds are low
