Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
DuckBricks replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
I’d love the PDF screenshot if you have it - I don’t think there should be any issues as it was publicly available and the site just seems to be down for web issues? -

Loving the look of these sets - the triangular spaceship is a little blocky, but I'd have to wait and see the source material before judging it too much on that. -

Sure thing! PM me and I’ll see what I can do. -
Dang - the Monster Book of Monsters popped up for sale on Barnes and Noble's online site for $24.99 an hour ago, but immediately sold out... I just hope this makes its way to shop at home at some point.

What are the odds the monster book of monsters pops up elsewhere for sale? I got most of the wave when it came out and can’t get up to $75 without buying sets I already own (and then returning them later, I guess)

LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
DuckBricks replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is definitely in line with the push to make Lego Star Wars more affordable this wave, so I don't necessary dislike it - it's just a shame this is bound to have zero exclusive minifigures as soon as any other sets come out. Still, it's nice for the fans who don't already have the Child or Mando to get them in a cheap set, and I don't even know if LEGO would have been allowed to include Cobb Vanth due to spoilers. -
Unfortunately as much as I want this to be a thing, the context behind the land’s creation is that it was supposed to be a LEGO Movie themed world, but once the announcement was made that Universal would be handling movie rights moving forwards and the Warner Brother “LCU” would be phasing out of relevance, Legoland panicked and had to come up with a last-minute reskin to optimize the assets they already had. If I had to guess, this is going to be something created exclusively for Legoland parks, and more than likely won’t have any sort of set tie-in.

Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
DuckBricks replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
How do we know for sure that this is Marvel, much less MCU? As much as I hope it will be, from what I understand, the only reason why people are suspecting this is Marvel is because the previous two D2C sets were DC-themed - but for all we know, it could be another 1989 Batman themed set to go along with the Batmobile and Batwing, such as an 89 Batcave akin to the massive scale of the classic series Batcave a few years back. If it is MCU, I'm really curious as to what it could be. I doubt they'd do a large Sanctum Sanctorum given that's mostly a Doctor Strange specific thing and they'd probably want to focus on Avengers. I don't see them doing Thanos's Sanctuary II warship as focusing such a large set on a villain-centric vehicle is a risk I doubt LEGO is willing to take. Avengers Campus, despite the alluring minifigure possibilities, is probably too boring of a build for them to do, although the whole quantum tunnel setup could make for a fantastic build if done right. That leaves... another UCS Helicarrier? Or maybe a UCS Avengers Tower, which despite not being super relevant in the MCU nowadays is still an icon of the MCU and they have made D2C sets in the past focusing on older MCU movies (i.e. the Ultron Hulkbuster). If it's not a traditional building or vehicle, the only other thing could be a display model, although it's almost certainly not a bust (too expensive) or mosaic (already covered, and set number/price point doesn't match). I guess it could be an Infinity Gauntlet, but I'm not sure if LEGO would dedicate a $300 set to it. If I had to predict, my money's on a large-scale Avengers Tower, but only time will tell. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
DuckBricks replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
While I can't attest to this instance in particular, LEGO has been known to run closed "market test" surveys, and even can run market test ads in certain regions to gauge interest for products that don't even exist yet, like the recent Mindstorms car. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a packaging style they considered/are considering, but hopefully the very negative FOL community reaction to it has taught LEGO something - if anything, that image leaking has given them even more market research than they would have gotten with that one closed survey. -
LEGO Ninjago 2021

Haha yes I changed my name to coincide with my YouTube channel but yes, I could definitely see it maybe being printed but at that point we’d still have a hairpiece that only applies to this new season sadly. Looking forward to seeing leaks of the figures! -

The headband looks great! I can imagine them reusing the movie Cole hair+headband piece for Cole, so they wouldn't need to make six new molds per ninja, but honestly it could go either way. And this means we will almost definitely get a silver movie Zane hairpiece - but with a headband, which is really a shame as a lot of fans have been looking for that to use for their own figures. We'll also be likely getting a face for Zane that's new but has face paint/markings - which is a shame as the extremely angry one really doesn't fit the character except for very specific circumstances. -

Agreed, earlier this summer it took upwards of two months, but now it's getting a lot faster and is almost back to relatively normal speed, which is really nice. -
So bizarre how they chose to use the regular face and not a new print, given that she's clearly a lot older during that flashback portion of the show. It's also a little strange that they chose this over, say, future Kai or Zane, which had their full bodies shown and would fit in more with future Jay, but perhaps they're saving those for when they can do arm and leg printing again, which I would also prefer. Still, nice to get another missing figure variant!

Huh! I have to say, I’m really pleasantly surprised! I was pretty let down by the TIE and figured all of the other cheaper sets would look like that, then LEGO pulls off this great-looking X Wing at such a lower price than before, and despite a simple and blocky body, the Shuttle isn’t half bad either. -

Apparently the gift box is only for stores in the Russian Federation, and might not even be official... so much for all the speculation then. -
Fair enough, I guess I'm just more excited for that one than, say, Kai's X-1 Ninja Charger, which is just the red sports car, for example. Hoping the Overlord dragon sells really well to show LEGO that villain-focused Legacy sets are viable!

LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
DuckBricks replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
All we have is the official description, mentioning a "set based on one of the important battles" (likely one of the past Endor/Hoth/DSII GWPs), "the characters of the Saga" (probably some old minifig GWPs, although we haven't gotten one of them in a while so it beats me as to what this would be, and "exclusive gifts" (guessing it's the same as above). Given that BB-8 is on the box, we might get the BB-8 buildable polybag? But it's all pretty much conjecture at this point. Guessing this will be some sort of Christmas buy exclusive, although it's a bit of a shame they didn't release it with, say, the Cantina, as there aren't any new Star Wars sets coming out between now and the end of the year (the Child can already be pre-ordered today), so for fans caught up with the set releases I'm not sure what opportunities there will be to even get it. -
Having a very experimental winter wave plus a full nine set summer wave is a good sign for the theme, and it must be doing incredibly well to warrant this. It makes me curious as to what other licensed themes could potentially use a refresh and reinvigoration (cough LOTR cough), seeing as there's massive demand for Harry Potter with no new Fantastic Beasts movie currently out the the HP movies themselves getting older each year.

My thoughts exactly - I was really feeling the classic Pirates vibe with that one, which is a good thing! I'm also curious to see why people don't seem to be liking Zane's Mech - from what I can tell, it has knees, and for a $60-70 set like that, it's a step in the right direction in my opinion. I was also pretty glad they didn't include the ghost mech this time around, as in the last set, that one ate up most of the parts budget and I'm curious to see what they can do with dedicated the full budget of the set to Zane's mech alone.

Thanks so much for sending the doc! Shame about no discount, but at least it's more convenient given I was buying thousands of the same stud part for a mosaic. -
What are the odds of us getting expansions to Diagon Alley, like Gringotts? I keep finding it strange how arguably the most or one of the most iconic buildings was omitted from this set, other than the layout wouldn't quite work out. Are they saving it for the later movies as a standalone set with the dragon?

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
DuckBricks replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Does anyone here know anything about the bulk bricks service LEGO used to offer but is temporarily shut down due to COVID? I was attempting to build a few custom Art mosaics, and since the limit for any given piece is 200 in total, I ended up having to place 5-6 separate orders of the same 200 studs for, say, the background of one, which I found a to be a little silly. I asked LEGO about it, and apparently, they had a "large order service" before COVID hit, but it is currently closed and will likely reopen next year once they are back to full capacity/once it is safe. Has anyone here actually used it, and are the prices any different or cheaper than bricks and pieces in bulk? -
I guess the difference would be new molds for each character versus a new mold shared amongst all six for a hood? That being said, I can see them maybe reusing the other movie Cole's hairpiece as that already has a headband built in, but as for the rest, as we can see with the Lloyd hair, it'll probably have to be new molds, which is really interesting.

[REVIEW] Every Canonized Fan-Created Model
DuckBricks replied to DuckBricks's topic in LEGO Action Figures
That's a good idea! I have been thinking of something along those lines, but it's a little hard to compare, say, a canonized Bionicle book model made by a ten year old sent to the LEGO Group for review compared to a model that passed through several rounds of voting and fan scrutiny via a canonization voting contest. Perhaps I will have two categories - kid-created/LEGO Group "contests," and AFOL/fan community contests as the level of build quality and details are so different between the two.
