Hanna. Excellent film, though predictable. I enjoyed it. Hobo with a Shotgun. Well, title speaks for itself doesn't it?

Half-Life 1? I've got -50% Alien Breed 3: Descent, -50% Altitude, -50% any Valve title, and -25% any Valve title. Any of that interest you? Actually, if anyone wants any of those, let me know. I certainly don't need them. Valid January 2nd, 2012 through March 1st, 2012.

REVIEW: LEGO Friends 3933 Olivia's Inventor's Workshop
iamded replied to lostcarpark's topic in LEGO Town
What a neat set! Good parts, interesting selection of colours, and the set itself has some neat, simple builds. I like it. I think of all the Friends sets, this is my favourite. I really like that hair piece too, would fit nicely on my minifigs. Thanks for the review, lostcarpark. -
So I've merged the Steam/Valve games thread and the Steam Usernames thread in an attempt to have one thread for Steam discussion. It'll certainly be useful to let EB's Steam users know about sales and things they may have missed. At the moment, there's one last encore day of the Steam holiday sale, with some sweet bargains like 75% off Portal 2 and L.A. Noire, 50% off Batman: Arkham City, and 75% off Orcs Must Die! and Majicka, 2 awesome little games.

Well, def knows best. I've been listening to Portishead's album Dummy, and it's great. Also been listening to Metric again, it's been long enough since I last went through my Metric phase to get back into them. Man, I love music.

Yes, I fully expect The Walking Dead to be great. I don't want to overpass the TV series though, so it'll take me a good long time to read all of it. I made the same mistake with A Game of Thrones. I know I should really have read the books first, but I started with the series and that's what I know now, and I don't want the books to spoil anything for me. So both The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones books will have to wait until their respective TV series get canned. I figured Lost at Sea would be very different from the Pilgrim books, but I'm all for anything by Bryan Lee O'Malley. I like his style. I don't know what B&N is either, but I'm in New Zealand so that's no problem. MK1, the comic book store that I go to, has it in stock. So that's good.

Yes sir! I shall acquire this album effective immediately. Doesn't mean I'll stop listening to the retro-esque video game sound tracks though.

Portishead huh? The only song of theirs I've heard is 'Machine Gun'. They're rather interesting. This song's not bad at all. I'm listening to a lot of the Super Meat Boy and Bit.Trip Runner soundtracks. It's nice having them play in the background while I go about my day. The Bit.Trip one has some songs by Anamanaguchi, if anyone's ever heard of them before. They make their music mostly using synthesisers: a hacked NES and Gameboy, which makes for some retro gaming sounding music. And is pretty interesting in itself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GItw1qZLdsU

If this wasn't Eurobricks, I'd say this is some clever trolling. Since this is Eurobricks however, it seems that's your actual opinion and you feel inclined to share it with us. In my opinion, the absence of what we're familiar with and what we expect makes it all the more interesting. Prometheus is sure to be full of hints, clues, and foreshadowing to the xenomorphs and events of the Aliens movies, and I'm sure it will be brilliant.

That was posted at 5am New Zealand time, and it's the 25th here! Merry Christmas everyone! Hope y'all have a wonderful, Lego filled day!

That, is awesome. I'll be moving to a place with a comic book store for Uni next year, so I look forward to getting much more into comics then. I've already spotted Lost At Sea, Bryan Lee O'Malley's book he made before Scott Pilgrim, which I very much would like to get my hands on. I'd also like to get into The Walking Dead, having recently watched all the episodes. It's always nice to read the source material when it comes to television and movie adaptations of books. A friend recently bought the Valve collection of comics. I'm not sure what to think about this. All the comics are available free to read online on various Valve websites. I suppose it's good of Valve to offer a nice collection of them in book form, for those who would like that. The comics are very nice, with ones from Portal, Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I wouldn't mind having a copy... But Valve are constantly releasing comics, I doubt they'll all make their way into books. Who knows, maybe there'll be a Volume 2 with all the rest. Anyway, that's enough from me for now. That actually looks really awesome. I'll be sure to ask comic book shop guy about them.

Pffhahaha. Wow, Hello Kitty. This is just what the brick-based building systems needed. And I just love how they've simplified it! None of that time-consuming, wasteful, step-by-step building of the house. No sir, with this we just take the large single house piece, slap on a floor and roof, and voila! Done. The cart however employs the brick-built aspects in a nice, bright, colourful build, I hope it's not too complicated! And I'm sure is strong and sturdy and won't fall apart all the time as the young ones play with it! And the playability - wow! Hello Kitty may not be able to grasp the cup-cakes, but who would want to when there's lollipops around? And she can grasp the cart in such a way so as to employ some sweet Matrix-style wall running as she pushed the cart! It's this kind of creative thinking that puts Megabloks streets ahead! And of course, it's great to see Megabloks keeping up with Lego's fondness for DSS's, darling sticker sheets! Everyone loves those! Thanks for the review dr_spock. It's nice to see what Lego's up against. Looks like they'll have to step up their game - Marvel, DC, Star Wars etc. are certainly no match for Hello Kitty.

Right? And the fact that it's played by attractive women certainly adds to it. As for what I'm listening to, chances are high that I've linked this before but I really dig this song, so here it is again. I quite like the end of the song FML as it leads into Moar Ghosts N Stuff, on the album 'For Lack of a Better Name...', but I couldn't find that in youtube video form, so...

Speaking of 'Lights' - the song this time, not the band. [media] EDIT: Hm, weird that tag's not working... still works as a link though.

Hm, sound neat. I went through a big Aliens/Predator buzz a while back, watching all the movies and getting all into it. I hadn't even heard of this movie before this topic, so it should be interesting. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Praiter Yed.

Ingrid Peck is still, astonishingly, alive and kicking, and ready to do this!

Going from your avatar, I assume you've heard song? And on the topic of System of a Down, allow me to share this cover of Toxicity I found - on electric violin. As for what I'm listening to, MSTRKRFT's remix of Metric's Monster Hospital. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c3Pk5wvac8

I'm not gonna lie. I've been waiting for the next Elder Scrolls game ever since Oblivion. That's a good four years, so hopefully it shouldn't come as a surprise that I've logged 220 hours so far. Hey, don't give me that look! It's the holidays! Anyway, yes, I love Skyrim, even though it has it's fair share of bugs and glitches, it's still the magnificent game that I've been waiting for and it did not disappoint. Worth the wait, I say. I know I posted this in the "What are you listening to?" thread, but I feel it will be more appreciated here. A brilliant cover of the bard's song, 'The Dragonborn Comes'. Also there's this I found one day, which I thought was excellent. Youtube user Robbaz, King of Sweden teaches us how to be a bad-megablocks Viking in Skyrim. Oh, er, caution: NSFW language.

Ooh, thanks for mentioning this. I was totally oblivious to this album's existence. Looks like something I need to get my hands on. I found this song a while ago but happen to be listening to it at the moment. I know youtube is far from the best place for finding good music, but when I found this I was blown away. Being an avid gamer certainly helps in appreciating it, particularly how well she sings the 'dragon language' lyrics.

I have to say, dubstep was a genre I found strange and unappealing, one I tended to avoid. But after watching visual effects artists Corridor Digital's video, " " a few times, I found myself more and more liking the music in it.Now here I am, listening to Klaypex's EP, 'Loose Dirt' (which you can get for free at previous link), which is pretty awesome. I particularly enjoy the song 'Rain', which shows me not all dubstep is bad.

That's a huge plus that the hair pieces fit nicely with regular figs. That, combined with the fact that these sets include interesting colours make these sets actually pretty appealing. Thanks for sharing the news and pictures with us, daoudbazaar!

That is totally awesome. It's so great to see more of the classic superheroes in Lego. Thanks for the excellent review, Hinck!

Props to pp7 for reviving this, as it seems I totally missed it! I love comics. I've been a huge fan of Deadpool for years. That's the main comic I read that's not digital. Hmm, actually I think all the rest are web-comics. Am I still welcome here? My favourite web-comics would have to be Three Panel Soul (count it's predecessor Mac Hall with that too), Awkward Zombie, Johnny Wander and The Meek. They're all well-drawn, and fun to read. Definitely my favourites. Other web-comics that I enjoy reading include but are not limited to (in no order but that in which I find them in my bookmarks); The Punchline is Machismo aka Manly Guys Doing Manly Things (this should maybe be with the other four), Doctor McNinja, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, xkcd, Cyanide & Happiness, Three Word Phrase, Questionable Content, 'Rock, Paper, Cynic', The Perry Bible Fellowship, Super Effective, Darths & Droids, Nerf This, 'Hark, A Vagrant', Basic Instructions, Bug Comic, Buni... I know it's generally frowned upon, but I still follow Ctrl+Alt+Del, if only because I've been doing so for so long and I don't want to stop just because it's gotten bad. I'm also aware of 2D Goggles, but if I were to start at the beginning I'd need to catch up, and that would take a long time. It's there in my bookmarks though, for when I decide it's time to read it. And then there's another called The Makeshift Miracle which I stopped reading out of lack of interest, but I may get back to it. Did I mention Scott Pilgrim? I love Scott Pilgrim. I love everything about it. It's a great series and I never get sick of it. Ah, it's awesome.

Last year my friends and I decided to embrace our nerdiness and give D&D a try. If there's one thing I recommend, it's to not get bogged down in the 4.0 rules. Don't even use them. They're ridiculous. 3.5 seems to be the way to go, we've discovered. We used Lego figures a couple of times, but that's as far as Lego was involved. What you've got planned looks wonderful, the sort of thing I'd like to give a shot.

Ey, more Lego Minecraft, this time on The Brother's Brick. New maps lookin' awesome there. And we should have the full version of Minecraft to play it on too!
