  1. Hi All, I’m exactly at the same stage. I’ve been losing some interest in Technic, I’ve dedicated some time to Christmas villages but nothing compares to the glorious years after the dark age (10 years ago) . Although I’ve never been a great or prolific builder, I’ve been experiencing a loss of excitement for Technic. I think there are a few reasons: Age (I’m 48 now), My 2 boys (13 and 16) don’t care about Lego, other interests, the cost of new sets, the lack of storage space (and I keep my sets apart) On an even more personal note, looking at where we are, and forgive me if I’m being unfair, sometimes I get the feeling that everything has already been invented or tried and I get that even from TLG.

  3. I must say 8067, Mini Mobile Crane. 299 useful parts, nicely packed and lots of functions for the size.
  4. Great video! If you could make it jump a bit forward the kids would be really scared! Very original. Looking at this and other out of the box MOCs that have surfaced lately, I'm thinking that there's a place beyond car/truck and construction equipment that I have to explore. Congratulations
  5. Hi Madoca Hope you're ok and am I glad you're back. Beautiful creations as always. You are defining a style. Love all your work but for me the Tatra is special. Happy building with emphasis on the happy.
  6. Usually I don't keep models on display. I build, take it apart and proceed to the next model. But with this, it's been over a month and I still couldn't take it apart. I think it's the best model I've ever built. The best looks vs construction vs play vs sturdiness vs size. Congratulations Madoca for this and for making it available for us. I wonder if TLG could/would ever produce a model like this and how much would it cost.
  7. @WR3KL3SS yes, Dish 6 x 6 Inverted (Radar) - Solid Studs. Really like your closed back solution
  8. 7: 10 27: 6 36: 4 38: 3 18: 2 24: 1
  9. That looks good! red and gold Ducati style. While building this I couldn't help thinking that a lot went into the building of the engine to then be hidden by the panels...
  10. Hi Sorry, just another color variation.
  11. Thanks, Maybe you can find a better solution for that half bush...
  12. Thanks @ metulskie8 - I like your color scheme very much red and DBG looks very good! Also your wheel arches are very solid. My solution is quite fragile.
  13. Hi Everyone. Sorry, I couldn't find a 42039 MOD topic so I'm posting this here. Again as with some previous sets I tried to build this with the parts I already have. So, some "creative" solutions to overcame the lack of the new parts. Here is the result. Wheel arches
  14. Thanks for the feedback. And thanks Jim for the help. Sorry for not returning sooner. I wanted to build the 8070 from parts but was missing some. So the mods started by the need to find alternatives (wheel arches, some panels in black, etc.) The back is really the only thing I think needs working on the official 8070. Here are some details.
  15. I don't have either. Unfortunately. It would look great. I take the opportunity to show you my solution for the 8070 back:
  16. Thanks Guys Here's some more pictures (a bit dark, sorry):
  17. Thanks Jim Sure And here's another option:
  18. Here is my working area. I'm new to this forum. I hope the picture shows. I use sorting boxes. Some with hinged covers that i take out. When the table is needed it's easy to close all the boxes and stow away. Tires and some of the lot of pins I have are kept out of view. I don't have a lot of parts. When the Unimog came out I decided that instead of buying the set, I would bricklink just the parts I needed. It's been like that for the last couple of years. This way I keep the parts to a minimum. I also find quite interesting to find alternative building solutions when I don't have some parts (as 8070 and 8285 above). Best
  19. Thank you all for your kind words.
  20. Hi everyone My name is Rui and I’m an afol from Portugal. It’s been a while since I’ve been around this website and forum (especially the technic one) but as I didn’t want to continue being one of the guests, here I am. As most of the afol, I went through a dark age. Mine lasted from age 15 till about 7 years ago, while shopping for Lego sets for my young boy about Christmas time when I noticed the 8275 Bulldozer and thought – Wow this is Lego technic today! It was a lot of money so I didn’t buy it but forces were in motion. A few days after I spotted an 8273 Off Road Truck at 50% off and that was it. I was 38 then. After that I bought several technic sets but as I started having a lot of parts and discovered bricklink, I’ve been bricklinking models for the last 3 years buying just the parts needed. I’m essentially a builder from instructions but like to add some mods either for esthetics or simply because some part is missing. My boys are 8 and 11 today and they are also lego builders. Having 2 sons gives me the best excuse to search, talk, build and buy lego! Best to you all, Rui
