  1. It was based on a comment Z Cerberus made about not reaching mainland Europe. Guess I was wrong, then.
  2. This is as good a time as any to ask, I guess - Shouldn't EURObricks have something to do with Europe? I'm still new here, but it seems to me that Americans are the majority party.
  3. I wish I knew where the nearest LUG was. I've heard that there's a Lego club in the town where I'm going to go to college, though, so that might work.
  4. Advisory, I've live top cincinnati something! Er... Autocorrect is so amusing, I think I'll keep it that way. Anyway, I'd be happy to meet up. My character is headed for Albion right now to prevent a plague, I believe.
  5. ”Originally derived from the hose worn by European men several centuries ago, tights were made as close fitting as possible for practical reasons when riding horseback. For men of nobility, the material would be made of silk or fine wool rather than the coarser fabrics used by the lower classes. At the time of King Henry VIII of England, such was the male fashion for displaying a well turned leg that even the king padded the calf area under his hose. Portrait paintings of him and other nobility often portray the wearing of a cod piece covering the groin.” - Wikipedia
  6. @Thomas - You should definitely do the main challenge. Then you can visit me in Avalonia, the one land free of sandstorms, snowstorms AND sulfur storms.
  7. What a life those Kaliphlin children have - they never go cold, and their parents tuck them into bed with warm milk and a bit of hashish.
  8. Dang it! I can't use something that's been through Disney. Thanks anyway, though.
  9. I like the use of tread links as bench legs, but the story on Classic Castle is an even-rarer treat. I look forward to the next part!
  10. I might have to write that one down. It's pretty good.
  11. Hang in there, Infy! I'm out forever a week from Saturday. Whoops, I thought that post I quoted was a lot more recent. Anyway, with everyone showing off their PaB, how come they didn't have any good parts like that when I went a few weeks ago? They did have a lot of 1x1 bricks with studs on all sides, though, which I have always been low on.
  12. Hopefully I'll resist. I still need to get that done... Concerning the landscaping, I can't offer much advice since that's my weakest point. Maybe limiting the amount of colors you use in the road would help.
  13. I had a friend recommend Imgur. I think that's the name, but he made a face when I mentioned that I use Flickr. Apparently the other site is much more streamlined, even if it doesn't have a Lego community that I've ever heard of. My Flickr is still working fine on my iPad, but I'll look for a new host if it demands a Yahoo account. Speaking of Flickr, here's my latest upload. Any ideas on how to relate it to the GoH?
  14. Try this group on MOCpages: The Rockwork Club A pioneer of panel rockwork is a TFOL I know called Halhi 141. He's on the staff of that group and he also posted a general overview of his techniques here: Rockwork Guide I don't have a lot of dark grey angle plates or wedge-shaped bricks, so I don't have a lot of experience with this, but Halhi uses some basic materials.
  15. "Plague-ridden?" It almost sounds like GEAR Co. is doing all it can to artificially create demand - I wouldn't be surprised if they had staged this whole plague affair solely to drum up business.
  16. Albion is threatened by a plague? Well, I love city building - I can't let that happen. Plus, I've seen Simon's leadership - those people in Nalderic are surely better off as are the Enalican islanders, but that's not my kind of life. Sir Collis of Avalonia pledges his sword and resources to De Gothia!
  17. I like the way you did the switchbacks the best. That must have been a tricky task.
  18. That seems to be the case, unless the most recent chapter is meant to insinuate that either Simon or de Gothia is dealing with the Drow and the guild will divide between them with each faction suspecting the other of betrayal.
  19. Thanks, Simon! I think the wall took me a few hours over several days to get right.
  20. First Task - The Garrison and Protectors of Iremons These bowmen (and women) wear a more typical Avalonian dark green. They aren't the best archers I've ever made, but they work. The common infantry, on the other hand, use a mixture of wool, furs, leather, plate and mail. Some of their styles are influenced by their nearby neighbors, the Mitgardians, but where the rest came from is anyone's guess - Valyrio, maybe?
  21. That's the best use of a book piece I've seen yet, and both scenes convey the image of a mountain excellently with their different levels of complexity.
  22. Yep, that's most of it. I'm taking pictures to start my techniques index tonight.
