  1. No its got nothing to do with DA, Actually quite the contrary. DA is a very friendly site for MOCers cause no one scribbles on your photos with "this needs fixing" or "I don't like this here" shoving their opinions around like its fact. We for the most part use words like "I suggest," and "I think" meaning, "its our opinion." What you're seeing is purely me being me. Jon Stewart said it best. "I'm not going to censor myself to comfort your ignorance." I'm also not going to pretend to be someone I'm not. What you see is what you get. And instead of keeping my thoughts and opinions to myself so people like me, I'm going to be honest with myself and be honest with you.So please, don't go judging the whole community just because of one person from there who happens to be very different than most anyone else who's active there. http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2013/254/8/0/bionicle_moc___byorak_3_3_by_alex_darkrai-d6lwjdx.png http://fav.me/d4kr6ei"]http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2013/217/0/e/bionicle_moc__matteo_by_3rdeye88-d4kr6ei.jpg This is the second of two of my MOCs to receive a Daily Deviation, the first being Mototaur. http://fav.me/d2uvtr2"]http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2013/027/d/f/bionicle_moc__robot_unicorn_by_rahiden-d2uvtr2.jpg This was Aiden's first MOC to get a DD, the second one being his swordfish. Go on, tell everyone how sub par we are. This completely affirms my attitude. People are going to judge you regardless of how you act, so you might as well be yourself, and let them judge you for who you really are, not pretend so people like this pretend to like you. DV thinks he knows what its like on DA and what I'm like overall, based on one aspect of interacting with me. Who are you to judge anyone? How incredibly conceited of you. Isn't lego exclusively selling technic at TRU now? Coulda sworn I read an article on Brickset about that. I'm just going off of what I was told by several vendors I was fortunate to talk to and who were nice enough to let me pick their brains while they stocked shelves. At least I know its tentative information and don't try to hand it down as scripture. *chuckles* I worked the backroom to. It sucked.
  2. More of any of those colors would be nice. They're trans colors but they end up being kind of milky and simi-opaque, so really anything else that further has that look would be nice. But agreed more trans bright green to supplement the Black Phantom sword and rocka swords would be nice to. And I'd love to see some diversification, orange and purple maybe? How awesome would trans purple weapon pieces be?
  3. Aanchir's right it wasn't directed at you. My apologies, I should have been more specific. I was indeed referring to Darth Vader's comment about stores ordering sets. In my region of the US(central California) at least, a distributor comes and handles the lego department of the store. I ask the TRU employees when the new sets are coming in, and they just shrug and say "someone comes in and stocks the new sets" So in probability, yeah it is kinda lego's fault TLM is taking up so much space. But Lynchir is right, that's cause they're selling like crazy right now. And I assume wave 2 comes along when the DVD comes out. Its a brilliant marketing strategy. One of the things lego definitely nailed on the head. And you're Right Aanchir, it is. I stopped giving a crap about being polite when you guys didn't want to drop the subject and move on.
  4. I torrented them. Episode one and two are both on piratebay and kickasstorrent.com. They were good quality to.
  5. Actually, not all TRU's do their own Lego set ordering. Contrary to what Mr. Know it all says, TRU in some cases simply has a vendor for lego come in and they stock the shelves with what Lego wants there because TRU and lego have special arrangements to carry certain things first or exclusively. Technic won't be sold anywhere else in the US now. I've found this out through speaking with the several people I've met while lurking TRU for new set and this is what I was told. It might not hold true for some store, probably even many, but in my region that's how the new sets are distributed, Lego directly makes sure those sets make it onto the shelves when they want by having vendors come in and stock the lego sections. Then after that restock comes on the trucks with all the other stock for TRU and overnight restocks. As far as I know TRU is the only North American store it does this with. I worked at Target over the holiday season and we'd just get sets in like regular stock. Oh, I should also mention that I worked at TRU during the holiday season back in 2006, but I only ever worked swing shift, so I never did any of the overnight and back end stuff, just worked the floor during the psychotic part of the year.
  6. Has anyone watched the latest two episodes of Season two? I just got caught up. Who's diggin Smart british Rogon? And are we gonna get Raven, Bear, and Rhino Legend beasts at some point or are they gonna leave that unfinished like the UBs to?
  7. LOL that's for sure.
  8. Irnakk didn't just come with the gold Thok spine, it also came with some gold hoses to. These don't have those but interestingly enough the connections for them are still there, like in the ones that went to the head. what sucks is I actually kinda like the red one's construction better than what ended up being on Irnakk.
  9. RIGHT?! When I heard about Spiders, scorpions and bats being added to the mix I was like "Aw man those will make great UBs, then we can get Rogon, then maybe Bladvic and a beaver for the good tribe and there was wave 2 of the UBs I thought. Or maybe Shadowind. But no they went a whole different direction. I was actually kinda bummed cause a Rogon UB would be pretty sweet. Lego Y U screw this up? That's how you see it, its not how I see it. The "it may change" line means that who ever gave the information doesn't know for sure either. Just cause it came from someone within lego doesn't make it fact either. They could not now themselves to ya know. That's what I'm trying to get through to you. lego's a big corporation with many departments, and we've seen in the past that there can be communication issues internally. So yeah I don't take this as anything more than rumor and hearsay.ANd that for some reason pisses you off. Like, why do you care if I don't take it as gospel from some kind of TLG god(I'd probably still be an atheist anyways)? I'll take information as fact when A) there's a source, a name, someone placed to the information, and B when they can say "this is happening" its concrete, not "it might happen" Mights and maybes don't equate to much for me.
  10. Brickset has an entry for it with no picture, but I can't find anything on Bricklink. http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/66158_Piraka_Kaita Brickipedia also has an entry for it calling it a Piraka Kaita which is what the earlier combiner sets were called. Here's the other one http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/66157_Piraka_Kaita The only place I can't seem to find it in a lego data-base site is Bricklink. Its not under the piraka or supplemental. If you can, I suggest you maybe message Huw at Brickset, see if he can track down the information on where that entry comes from or maybe the moderators on Brickipedia since they seem to have more information on it. There's gotta be some official information on lego's end if this really is something they produced and distributed in Korea. If not, then its most likely as Lewitaur said, a fake.
  11. Agreed, meaning they themselves don't know. So that's where we're at. WE DON"T KNOW ANYTHING FOR SURE.
  12. Says you. Look, some of us are going to continue treating it as a rumor, so shut up already. We(at least I) don't give a crap what the reason was. Until there's more information than this vague crap, its a rumor.
  13. True, maybe we'll see the more generic usable parts come out next year. But that would probably mean the heads which are specific to this year's story won't be utilized. I doubt Lego would release the sets next year after the story line has already unfolded, unless somehow it would still fit in with the early 2015 December release wave. *fingerscrossed*
  14. I'm pretty sure this doesn't mean constraction as a whole is going. We actually determined in the HF ending in 2015? thread that its probably going to stick around for a while, just with different names along the way. This possible news just means that the Chima Ultrabuilds might not be released, that's if it proves true at all.
  15. Okay, so entertaining the notion that this line is scrapped, have any production sets been made or just the display/prototypes like we saw at the toy fair? How soon does lego typically start production of a series before its intended release? And since the ambassadors are so in touch with lego as you won't shut up about, is it possible to get some kind of petition type movement happening where they do release it but perhaps in smaller numbers?
  16. I'm not suggesting lego makes a huge deal about it. I keep saying a small blog page would work. Something very quick, simple, cheap, and reliable. Not huge press releases all the time. Just something where fans could follow and when things like this come up, its a simple communication with the people who do actually care about these kinds of things directly, Because no, this isn't direct. I don't know who this Andrew jackoff is. There isn't very much information to go on why should I trust it? Just cause you say I should? I want to see for myself, I want to hear for myself and most importantly, I want to think for myself. I want the information straight from the source so I know it didn't get misinterpreted, misheard, or recommunicated incorrectly, and most importantly, so I get all the facts as they should be presented so I can draw my own conclusion,I've been to many conventions, they're noisy, they're crowded, there's a lot going on. I don't really wanna heard the facts from one of you guys hearing about something from someone at one of them. Nothing's going to change here. You guys are gonna keep doing things as they're being doing I'm not going to buy into this second hand information. So this whole discussion is pointless. I agreed with you 9 postings ago.
  17. I never said anything about entitlement, I was simply asking why's it so hard to have a more reliable faster method of that communication? Like I said one blog page for all the news and stuff like this for all AFOLs across the board, not just us action figure fans And everyone gets the news at once as long as they're following. I was really ready to move on and get back on topic but you guys just have to be right don't you? You just can't let it go and move on can you? There's your answer Bacem. No petty squabblers, can't respect my decision, they have to beat me over the head with what they think is right until they feel satisfied that they've asserted their dominating opinion and the challenging notion they didn't like in the first place goes away.Getting back to the off topic at hand(because apparently letting it go like Bacem suggested isn't an option), what this is is journalism. Reporting information and news. In actual journalism, you have to site and credit your sources to be a reputable source of information. This isn't that. This is "I heard from a vague source that I won't disclose that, While this information is not final and may change..." So all we're really left with is nothing but conjecture. I'm with what Dorek said, sounds like clickbait to get more traffic to BZP to me. This is controversial news with no source. Therefore clearly we can see how unreliable this system can be. And therefore that's why it's an issue with me.
  18. I won't agree to not bring it up in the future, but this has gotten off topic and I've said my piece, so I'm done. We should get back on topic.
  19. By that argument, why have the CEE team at all? The budget it takes to run that department for a measly 5%? Why not just leave us completely in the dark. And you're damned right that's how I see it. No that's not an official channel that's second hand information. How hard is it to run an Eblogger page and throw up quick announcements and allow people to comment so that they could see first hand what the community reaction(as knee jerk as it can be sometimes) is to a given announcement? It would literally take one person to run the site and we could all be filled in at once. Not waiting around till one of you geniuses got the opportunity to talk to them and report the news. You're one of the prestigious ones who's on the inside, of course you're going to argue that its fine the way it is.One last time, let me spell it out for you, no...I don't want to hear it from you hearing it from them, I want to hear it from them! Why is that so difficult?
  20. Pretty much. This I can't buy into too much. But for example if someone from the CEE team posted on their blog that "we're sorry to inform you all, but such and such thing is happening." I'd buy that. I'd call that pretty concrete information. Not this vague obscure "I heard it from such and such guy at a convention." Well if its such important news why can't they have proper channels to put the information out there directly? Why's that asking too much?
  21. Why's it so difficult to have a press release kind of email or blog to follow? Why does it have to be 95% convention chatter? That's honestly a stupid system of informing the community, because what if someone from lego says something then it gets misinterpreted or just not told correctly? Its still word of mouth and that's not at all a reliable system for informing the community. This is the internet for crying out loud, its not difficult to have officially sourcable information coming from a team or individual who's fact checked things within lego to make sure its correct information. So yes, until something can be sourced, sited, linked and referred back to, I take it all with a grain of salt.
  22. Thank you Draik. "Blinding eyesore of awesomeness" Awwww, but yay at the same time. I, agree, the desk isn't all that good technique wise. I'm not that great of a system builder when it comes to the blocks and plates and stuff. Its pretty basic. Like I said on MOCpages, the Printer is probably the most advanced/complex thing in this entire build system wise. What might you suggest to make it not so blocky? I mean, it is a desk after all, desks are square for the most part but I imagine some cooler techniques could probably be used. I'd love to see one of those System wizards take a stab at something like this, see what they come up with. The finer points of some of that stuff is lost on me, much like what we do is a mystery to them. :P Thanks for commenting. :D
  23. Hi all reading. I'm gonna try something a little different today. Here's my latest revamp of a MOC I've had for a while, Wretched-Stare. Instead of of linking to the many photos I have posted on Flickr, I grabbed the photo collage I posted on Deviantart and will be posting that. The clickthrough link on the photo will also take you to Deviantart. This is an update for both Wretched himself, the computers, desk. and all the other accessories he previously had. The only things to remain the same are his little desk fan, and the action figure collection(not much I could do about those really) There are also a few notable additions to Wretched's Arsenal of PC Gaming and Hacking nirvana. Added features: Head set. Wretched-Bones(AKA Greg) once told me that he practically lives in his headphones, so comfortable ones are needed for him. This inspired me to include a head set for Wretched. Coffee Mug(more like oil drum ) Complete with coffee in it. It spilled when he freaked out about his desk top crashing. Dual Mini-Fridges. This was a feature I wanted to add to the first iteration of Wretched's actual desk (not counting that puny thing I made for him at first). Inside the top fridge are some energy drinks. These are the canisters that used to be on Wretched's belt, which I did away with because it felt more in the way than useful now that he's got a Mini Fridge and new weapons. The bottom fridge has some kind of "Xtreme" snacks. Yay using printed tiles. Printer. Pretty much any PC user needs a printer at some point for something. So I felt his desk wouldn't be complete without one. I wasn't just content with a printer, that would have been to simple for Wretched. Everything he owns is upper class high tech. So he needed at least a <i>printer/scanner</i>. Considering how big this desk is, I'm surprised at the fact this is the most SNOTy part of the build. It was a bit of a technical challenge getting something that looked right, didn't look too blocky or bulky, but also worked. Sadly, paper could go through it but only if its 2 studs wide, though it looks as though it should handle 4 studs wide. Oh well still looks awesome in my opinion. Desk Drawer. Something I first did on Matteo's Desk, but expanded upon with Wretched.'s. Now he has a place to keep his rocket Launcher. Dual Wielded "Data Blades." I decided that butter knife I gave Wretched before wasn't acceptable now that he's getting all these badass upgrades. So I sought out to find him a new weapon. I was initially going to go with a Hack Hammer, but this just kinda worked out for the better. Greg while a really great tech dude who knows his stuff about computers, also studied martial arts when he was younger, so he's told me his preferences for weapons are axes, hammers and daggers. Well these are too big to be daggers so they're data blades. It was daggers that inspired me to try something and the skrall blades just happened to really fit his look I think. Plus getting the color scheme in the weapons was pretty cool toMore on these in his Bio Upgrades. Desk. Its kinda obvious that the desk itself is actually different. The middle section with the grated plates are from the original desk though. I thought those looked cool so I kept them. Chair. The chair is somewhat the same as before. It was always a bit too tall for wretched so I shortened it by one round 2x2 Trans-neon-Green brick. I added some 1X2 tiles to give it some color. Then I redid the bottom rollers to be actual wheels that spin, not just black Beveled gears. It rolls a lot smoother now. You should see Wretched going WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE around my kitchen table, its quite funny. PC tower. With the new desk being bigger and taller that allowed for more room to have a bigger PC tower, so now its bigger and has two Disc Drives in it, how fancy. :D:D:D Monitors. Its pretty much the same exact design as before just tripled. What serious gamer doesn't have at least a gagillion monitors? Greg does. Keyboard. Moved some things around to try and make it look like it'd be back lit. Mouse. It has a mouse pad now, nothing special, just something to add a little more color to the desk. Speakers Mostly the same but now they're mounted on the shelf Laptop. I reworked the Laptop on both sides. Its now running Windows8, and like any sane being with half a brain...Wretched hates it. This was actually Greg's idea. When I told him I didn't like the way I did the computer screen using printed tiles, he suggested the basic colored square thing. Which was genius(Go Greg) Bio Wretched Stare is a member of the Skakdi race. Wretched is perhaps one of the tamer of the Skakdi, but that's not saying much. He can still be characterized as "quite prickly." Wretched spends 90% of his time in doors at his computers and other technological devices. Even amongst the Skakdi he's a bit of an oddball. He plays games and sits in a dark room in front of screens instead of fighting and doing the many various malicious things Skakdi are know to do. Because of this his fellow skakdi think him odd. Once Wretched is in "manual butt kick mode" as he calls it he can be competent fighter, though he's not the most strong or fastest. Outside of battle he can be a bit of a bumbling goof.Wretched-Stare utilizes his vast knowledge of technology to aid him in fighting. This can be seen mostly through his use of hi "Data Blades." These unique weapons have an energized core that can transmit bits of code into a being to disrupt it mentally and physically. The code can overload and kill weaker beings or simply paralyze stronger beings. Zakaz, the island the Skakdi live on is pretty barren with many fortresses dotting the landscape. Wretched holds up in a smaller fortress of his own employing small drones to keep a look out and fend off any intruders. When those don't work, he'll refer to his "manual butt kick mode," meaning he has to get off his butt and go take care of the problem himself. Being a Skakdi, Wretched has worked for the Dark Hunters. He joined the Dark Hunters to gain access to high grade equipment and technology since Zakaz had little to nothing to offer him. Being skilled at identifying talent and potential, the dark hunters didn't really utilize his ability as a fighter, but exploited his wealth of knowledge with computers to help many of the other mechanically or technological savvy members develop new weapons for the Dark Hunters. Though he would never hand over the schematics for his Data Blades. This lead to some growing tension between him and some of the other Dark Hunters and a fight broke out amongst them. Many of the experiments they were working on were destroyed and Wretched ended up killing several of the participants. None of the other developers questioned his authority after that and he became the leader of the R&D department within the Dark Hunter's Guild.
  24. Which Midna is this based on? I googled her cause I'm not familiar with LoZ and there's different versions. The one with the pot belly looks much different and if its the one I'm thinking of. I gotta say this is a terrible recreation of her. Her head and crown is disproportionately much bigger than the rest of her body. I showed this to my friend who is an Avid LoZ fan just to check and he agreed. So while I think its a good MOC, if its the Midna I think you based it off of its not a very good recreation of her at all.
  25. I refuse to believe this either. Seeing as how various departments within Lego don't know what Lego's doing half the time I don't really see this as holding much water. Plus no actual source was given. And like Shakar said, the way Lego Built up this series from last year suggests the other direction. I call BS on this one. Give me some real evidence, a creative lead or marketing head, and then I'll believe they got scrapped. As for how the sets sold over here. I do see them on the shelf alot, but about the same as HF though. My TRU still has Breakout Era sets so what does that say? Why are people so quick to believe word of mouth around here?
