Hi! Here is my entry for the Micro scale category. This is something more than a house: it is a palace... a model of an existing one! It is situated in the south of my country, Italy. From Wikipedia: I visited it many years ago and I guarantee that it is really spectacular! I made a micro scale version which is 29 studs large and 30 studs long. Because of its small scale, I omitted many details, and this obviously makes my construction look a lot less spectacular than the original Palace; however, it is almost proportioned. Seen from the back (gardens): From above: Front view: Map: Façade: LDD: https://www.mediafire.com/?5m80fg2l4ycu87l

Just a small historical representation of German troopers equipped with early and late-war weapons: MP40, MG34, MP44, Luger pistol, Stielhandgranade 24. Custom parts have been made by BrickArms.

Welcome Oakey! The catalog you posted is fantastic; the robotic arm in the last page is something I have been dreaming for a long time... and now I notice it is as old as I am! xD

LEGO: the way to reach the equality of the sexes?
The_Viking replied to The_Viking's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This is exactly what Ms. Elizabeth Truss explains in the article: she thinks that society and social conventions influence children even more than what their "male and female brains" do. That's true, it has been demonstrated that male and female brains are not equal in thinking, but this has little in common with glittery toys and portable miniguns, which are a consequence of centuries of stereotypes. I can confirm this. I am an aerospace engineer and I have known many skilled girls at my university; to be honest, they were sometimes better than male students. -
Hi! Well, my question is nearly the opposite of what this topic is intended for... but I hope it is still the best place to ask for. I have noticed that, under the category "hats/caps/everything you put on the heads of minifigs" of LDD, there is a so-called "Garrison Cap", which looks very similar to both the caps worn by Russian and Allied troops during WWII and the paper hat worn by the Butcher minifig: The problem is: it seems that this part is present in LDD only. Lego.com says "No results" when asked for part # 4156 in the "Bricks and Pieces" section of the site; at the same time, what Brickshelf tells about 4156 is this: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=494107 My question is: what about this part? Is it a prototype, a banned part or anything else? Does it exist outside LDD and three sad photos on Brickshelf? Thanks.

I see both Bryggen in the background and the words "Stevie", "Ray" and "Vaughan". Enough to eulogize you! Very nice job, anyway ^^

Completely reorganized my LEGO parts collection. This took a lot of time, but I think it's worth the effort!

LEGO: the way to reach the equality of the sexes?
The_Viking replied to The_Viking's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm sorry, I must admit I did not translate the full article because of its length xD Anyway, this quote by Ms Truss sounds like a confirmation of what you say about LEGO Friends: («I have two daughters and I gave them traditional Legos as well as Lego Friends») Thanks for your opinion! -
I have recently read this article on the website of a major Italian newspaper. Here is my translation of the title: What do you think? Do LEGO bricks really help to enhance the ability in mathematics? Can they help to bring the equality of the sexes? * -> Yes, this mistake is very common in Italy too :/ (Sorry, the title of this topic is not complete: it should be "LEGO: the way to reach the equality of the sexes?")
