Just a quick heads-up. A reviewer on YouTube has reviews up of the Golden Dragon and Monastery sets and one of the spinner sets (just search "Lego Ninjago Legacy Set") if anyone wants to check them out - I'd link to them here but I'm not sure if that is allowed? The reviewer is based in Canada and said that he purchased the sets at Toys R Us. So, the sets are out at retail, in Canada at least.

We are due to get a couple of retailer exclusives (there were none in the previous wave) so I think that's what the other poster was inferring. I think that one will be a vehicle for Zane (dune buggy? some kind of sand walker?) as opposed to a dragon (setting is a desert so probably no ice dragons around) and the other a vehicle for the "Dragon Keepers" or whatever the villain faction is called. I think both of them will be $30 sets as that price point has not been represented in the set list so far.

Jay's dragon's head has a shooter mounted inside the mouth (I guess to mimic a "lightning breath" attack) and I think that the simplified head design would have been done in order to incorporate that gimmick. I can't 100% tell if Kai's dragon has a similar function, but if it did then that could explain the similar design.

It would be unusual for Kai to get that many vehicles/sets in such a short period. Especially with 2 sets at the same price point. But I’m pretty sure Pursuit in the Air is Kai’s vehicle. I don’t think it’s a villain vehicle because you can see that the vehicle is chasing one of the villain figs (Mohawk Guy) and it is definitely Kai’s color scheme.

I think that some of those prices are off based on the set/box images. Pursuit in Air: Definitely not a $40 set - dead giveaway is that it comes with only 2 mini-figs. This is a $20USD price point set based on that, the box shape and overall size of build/estimated piece count. Confrontation in the Throne Room: Again, doesn't look like a $40 set based on size of build/piece count. I think this could be set like the prison set from 2016 that was $25USD-ish but came with several mini figs. Stormbringer Dragon: I can't 100% tell if this is the rectangular "$30USD Box Size" or rectangular "$40USD Box Size". The dragon build itself looks like a hugely scaled down version of Lloyds Mech Dragon that doesn't look to use that many pieces. That and the lack of any major secondary build (looks like there is a small shrine) leads me to believe it could be a $30USD set, but the inclusion of 4 mini figs is normally associated with a $40USD set. Firstborn Dragon, Dieselnaut Combat Vehicle, The Dragons Den: Sets all look pretty substantial. Prices are probably accurate. There are now pretty clear set pics on YouTube where you get good looks at the sets with the exception of the largest 2 (they are together in one frame and are a bit more blurry than the others). I think Kai will be featured in the this wave of sets since he gets a vehicle (Pursuit in the Air) AND a Dragon (Firstborn Dragon)?

So, I guess 70657 is the other DTC set for the Movie the "Docks" set. Also, looks like we might get 2 retailer exclusives 70649 and 70656? I'm thinking so, since there are no exclusives in the most recent winter wave. So far, the sets look to be oriented primarily towards dragons/scenery sets. I'd assume that if any retailer exclusives are included, they might be more vehicle centered...? Also, has anyone seen a clear pic of 70650 that shows what is in the set? The one I saw was terribly blurry and I couldn't make anything out...

No official word on pricing as yet. But if you have seen the catalog leak you can determine the pricing by box size. One curious thing to me is that there are no $30 sets in this wave. I.E. the smaller, longer rectangle boxes. I wonder if there will be a retailer exclusive(s) that slot into that price point?

For 70639, the box size indicates that it is a $20 USD set. Kind of weird that there are no $30 USD sets in this wave at all. There is 1 $12 set, 1 $20 set, 2 $40 sets, 1 $60 set and 1 $90-$100 (I'm guessing based on the temple's box size) set. I wonder if we will get a retailer exclusive in the SOG wave given the absence of any $30 sets?

So, Movie Wave 2 December 1st (ish) and Sons of Garmadon January 1st (ish). That's interesting. The way that Lego were talking about S.O.G. at Comic Con, I assumed that was the Summer 2018 Wave.... The last 4 waves of Ninjago have been very heavy on dragons, bikes and ships. Having seen the S.O.G. sets I'm somewhat disappointed to see...well... more of the same thing really (dragons excluded for this wave, which is kind of a nice change in and of itself). 70638: Looks like a nice enough little speedboat with a spring loaded shooter on the back. Looks like it can change into some kind of flyer as well..? And it is nice in a small set like this to get 2 builds with the small bike for the S.O.G. mini fig. 70639: Lego has obviously decreed that the Winter Wave $20 set will have 2 bikes as this has now been the case for the last 3 years! This is really a bummer for me as there are opportunities to do all kinds of other stuff at this price point and it has been nothing but bikes, bikes, bikes. Having said that, the bikes look pretty good and the Oni mini fig is cool. Wonder if the S.O.G. bike has the "sword-stilts" featured in the trailer? I think Zane's bike has stud shooters on it. 70640: The obligatory "Set That Works With Impulse Game-Gimmick Sets!" Ultimately, these sets tend to suffer for the sake of accommodating the gimmick and to me that is clearly what happened here. Can't really tell action features other than a space to let the spinjitzu bubble-thing roll around. Kind of a waste of what could have been a really good "Base Set" in my opinion. 70641: Nice looking car. Guessing there is a stud Gatling-gun on both sides and another feature or 2 for the car. Bike for bad guy. Pretty standard Ninjago set for this price range. 70642: Maybe to me the most interesting set. S.O.G. big-fig looks to be loaded up with weapons with a spiked club and some kind of jet-pack with stud shooters on it. It looks like that is attached to the big-fig and is not part of the bike although I'm not sure how it would attach...? Mech looks nice and is on the smallish side. Stud shooter on left arm and spinning spike-shield on right arm. Only thing about this set is it doesn't look to have a lot of pieces for what it's price range would be. Bike doesn't look to large (maybe around 7 inches long) and neither does the mech (looks about the size of the Electro-mech, maybe even a bit smaller) Guess there are a lot of large pieces in the bike and big fig that drove up the set budget? Still, 2 interesting looking models, cool big fig and 2 ninja's - maybe a bit light on the figure count for the price point too now that I think about it. 70643: Temple. Looks okay but nothing special. Hard to tell what action features may be present. No secondary builds which is really disappointing in a set a this price point. Overall, I would say that based on prelims this is a good to very good wave. To me, everything is a potential buy save 70640 and probably 70643. Curious to see final set images!

70613 Garma Mecha Man Pictorial Review
TPLSTER21 replied to DuckBricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the review. Nicely done! This one is a pass for me. The mech looks better than it actually is. A $60 price point mech should have several action features and not just a single missile launcher, especially when it is the only build in the set! It definitely should have come with the huge mace it is wielding in the poster instead of the laser pointer.- 18 replies

LEGO Nexo Knights 2018
TPLSTER21 replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Since 72006 is called "Axl's Rolling Arsenal" and resembles a WW2 amphibious landing craft, then perhaps the "arsenal" is a bunch of things stored inside (an arsenal is a weapons storage room after all)? It looks like it is the biggest set of the wave at this point, so maybe the main vehicle is a carrier/deployer for several smaller vehicles. @Sir von Lego can you tell if the vehicle has a large door/hatch for other things to exit from it? Is a villain vehicle is included in the set?- 1,601 replies

LEGO Nexo Knights 2018

Pretty sure 72001 is "Lance's Hover Jouster" which would make more sense. As for the rest, looks like a small wave, which is what I expected for winter 2018. Sir von Lego, can you please provide us with descriptions for the other sets? Thanks for this as always!! 72003 is an enemy flyer. Sir von Lego described the set includes a "Good guy in orange space-suit" - AKA Axel - and the vehicle itself - "flying helicopter...with rotors on both sides put on horizontally" as being black/transgreen - which is the color of the enemies according to his description.- 1,601 replies

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
TPLSTER21 replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The answer to your question is: Not very. The sets are already available for sale at LEGOLAND Billund in Denmark. They are also available from North American sellers on EBay (that is if you feel like paying a 100% markup over N.A. retail price to get them early). The sets should be widely available at retail in North America within the next 2-3 weeks or so (TRU, Target, Walmart) and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Lego stores had them a few days earlier than the "official" August 1st release date - say the weekend before July 28th-29th. Given all of the above, I'm also pretty sure that TLG sent out a few sets to some websites/YouTubers for preview reviews. Keep an eye out over the next week or two. I know a couple of people from Brickset are active here. Perhaps they can confirm if they are going to be getting some sets in advance for review? -

TPLSTER21 replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Well this is interesting on more than one level: Since this is an official TLG press release, I'm going to assume that the release date for the garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON! set is in fact December 1, 2017. But this also means that the release date for Wave 2 is December 1st since I can't recall another time where only 1 "Winter/Summer Wave" set was released where that set wasn't a D2C or UCS build - and that set is definitely not one of those! So, I guess nice to know that the other 3 sets (Cole's Mech and 2 others) are coming in time for Christmas. This HAS to be a type-o. There is no way that set is $30. The giveaway is that $30 Action/Adventure sets now come in a specific size of box - that is the box size of Master Falls, Jelly Sub and Manta Bomber. The Walker box is much larger than that. It is a $40 set. But still a pretty good value piece count wise even for $40. Does anyone know if there are set descriptions online that give the dimensions of the sets? Some of the bigger ones are listed on the box, but I'm curious about the size of some of the smaller sets. -

The misterbricks.be website has descriptions for all the movie sets, but they are not in English. Google translate will give you the details you need. Definitely some stuff gets a bit lost in translation, but you can get the gist of all the sets and their features. -
LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion

Just getting caught up on the NK news that the theme is rumored to be coming to an end a year early. At this point, I'm pretty sure that the Summer 2017 Wave will see a mass market release as the sets are already out in Europe and I believe that a couple of Lego employees shot down the speculation that the Summer 2017 Wave would not be released in the forums here on EB. So, given that, I wouldn't be too concerned about not seeing the summer wave. They are likely already well into production with them. As for the future of NK, that's where it gets tricky. They likely have at least one more wave of sets that are in the final stage of design and I'm sure that even though the theme may not be performing to TLG's expectations, there is probably a desire to give NK a proper ending/send-off. It would not surprise me if we end up getting a very small wave for Winter 2018 (3-5 sets) with some sort of "Final Battle" set and an abbreviated series of the cartoon (episodes of which are also likely to be in production already) to bring things to a conclusion. With the next wave (or maybe 2) of Ninjago being movie sets, there is some room to devote resources to NK to finish it off and perhaps put some new sets on retail shelves for the Holiday Season without TLG chasing too much good money after bad. As for another "Big Bang Theme": Let's face it. Lego caught lightning in a bottle with Ninjago and has been trying to capture that again ever since. I don't blame them and I'd be doing the same thing. An in-house successful franchise with no licensing fees being paid like Ninjago would be a huge money maker for TLG. But with Chima and know (rumored) Nexo Knights failing to become "In-House Uber-Successful Action Adventure Theme #2". It makes you wonder whether TLG will be shy to pull the trigger on something completely new for a third time in 5 years when they could just re-visit classic castle or space (although any space theme has the problem of competing with Star Wars on shelves). They could also look to expand on the Ninjago universe, which is already successful at the expense of going with something new. I get the feeling that with new Star Wars, DC and Marvel movies incoming for the next 5 years or so, the Lego Movie sequel, Ninjago, etc. If NK ends prematurely it may be some time before TLG dips their toe in the Big Bang Theme pool again. -

Well, this is certainly unusual that Lego gets ninja'd (pun intended) by their own store catalog! But TLG's timing for release of set info is normally a month or so before release in Lego stores and I don't expect them to deviate from that for TLNM sets even with this official catalog out in the wild. Expect "official" info on the sets to go something like this: - Images/set descriptions/piece counts/etc. on Lego severs - 1st week in July-ish - Sets should be on display at SDCC in late July with accompanying press releases, etc. But that's Lego's timeline. Given that the catalog is out there, I don't think Lego can now expect to contain/embargo images being put out by other retailers or sites that TLG has provided set images to. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see other retailers put up set images for pre-order of the sets. Hell, it looks like departments within TLG may not even be communicating with each other and given the catalog "leak" Lego may just release all of the set images/info themselves at this point. So, given all of this, I think we can expect to see set images/details pop up earlier than July 1st. I hear what you are saying, but: - Kai's mech might be "scaled down" from the movie, sure. But, the set itself is one of the larger one's in the wave and looks to be pretty generous in size and is true to it's appearance in the movie. - Lloyd's dragon mech was scaled down, for sure. But under the circumstances, I think they did a pretty good job with it (non-brick built head aside) - The hammerhead mech is still pretty large (especially if you measure it bottom to top of the fin!) For me, I think that the overall pricing of the ninja vehicle sets is on the high side (cheapest set is Nya's walker at $40USD with Jay, Kai and Zane's vehicles all clocking in at $70USD and up!) and they should have designed at least one vehicle in the $30USD or under price point. I would really like to see, assuming there is at least a second wave of sets, if the Ninja's all have smaller secondary vehicles (like Batman has multiple vehicles in multiple sizes for different missions) that could lead to some lower priced Ninja vehicle sets and some higher priced villain sets. Destiny's Bounty is awesome. The definitive model of that particular vehicle. -

Polybag in Wave 1. I'm interested to see if the bag will come with Cole so that he can pilot the mech or if it will be a just a min-model of the mech itself. I'm thinking the latter as including a minifig and "making room" for it in the model would probably be too big a compromise given the likely piece count. Assuming it's a mini model of the set, then I'd be very interested to see how it would be interpreted with, what, a 50 piece count? (Not sure of what the exact piece count range is for these types of poly bags). Agreed. Relax. It's coming (see legozebra's comments below). Also, several board members who are "in the know" have said it will be a Wave 2 set. As for the "standing" issue. This can be dealt with pretty easily. They will probably design 2 "kickstands" on either side of the wheel that fold down to allow the mech to stand and fold back up into the wheel when "in motion". -

I thought that 70610 might be the Jellyfish craft and it does appear to be a USD $30 set given the box size. Also, I'm assuming this is Toys R Us' exclusive for this wave since it was not on any of the initial lists or in the catalog. Nice selection of mini figs, good looking main build and a nice secondary build in the mini-junk. The only pet peeve I have with it is that it uses flick fire missiles. Given the advances in "projectile pieces" over the last 3 years and the fact that this is a major theme for Lego in 2017, there is absolutely no reason to be using outdated action features like flick fires. Either the Gatling stud shooter or a pair of the linked single stud shooters with vehicle mounts would have presented a much better play pattern. This leaves the 2 larger exclusives (Garmadon Shark Mech, Zane's Tank) and the D2C (Ninjago City...?) as yet to be revealed. Now that pictures are starting to appear, it hopefully wont be long before we see these and the rest of sets in their boxes. -

I too have enjoyed seeing the various minifigs from the upcoming sets and can't wait to see more! As to when we will get detailed set reveals? Since we are at the end of May, with an "official" release date of August 1st in North America and an "unofficial" on-shelf date of around July 15th, I have to believe that the answer is: soon. TLG, assuming they follow their normal pattern, will have them on their shop at home website the first week or so in July, which is about 5 weeks away. But my money is on us seeing something before that. Given that the Star Wars TLJ set images (in non-watermarked form) have already leaked (and I don't think those release until September) I have to think that TLNM sets won't be too far behind. Perhaps the same person who has those images can get the LNM sets as well? -

I don't want to link to it here as I don't wish to incur mod-wrath. However...a You Tuber called "BrickLoversTV" has it in his video list. They also refer to the set name as "Zane's Titanium Turbo". -

Are you talking about an image of Zane's Tank or Cole's Mech? And is it an actual set image or an image from the movie poster (which has been out for a while now). I also checked J2G's YouTube feed but there is no clip of either in his list. If it is a set image, then that would be the first image we've seen. Edit: Found the image. I'm pretty sure that's a fake. It's definitely not a set box artwork image (which is all we have seen for the other sets so far) and it doesn't look like an additional set image that isn't the box art either. If anything, it looks like it MIGHT be a photo from a catalog, but since it's supposed to be a retail exclusive, it wouldn't be in a catalog, right? Also, there is a lack of any villain minifigs/vehicles in the image (the image shows all of the Ninja, so again, doubtful this is real). -

Based on Brickset's database and the set sequencing, there will be 3 retailer exclusives: 70610 - Initials "JS" on the initial leaked list - Price likely 30 or 40 euros based on sequencing. Set contents unknown at this time. 70613 - Initials "NW" on the initial leaked list - Price likely 55 to 70 euros based on sequencing. Theorized to be Garmadon's Shark Mech. 70616 - Initials "ZT" on the initial leaked list - Price likely 80 to 100 euros based on sequencing. Could be Zane's Tank. So, looks like the 3 exclusives will be in 3 totally different size classes - one large, one medium and one medium-small set. Based on the input from Just2Good, it looks like Zane's tank is the largest set, Garmadon's mech is the one in the middle (assume it couldn't be the smallest due to size), which leaves 70610 a mystery for now. I have no idea what it could be. Cole's mech looks to be Wave 2 at this point (and would likely be too big for that price point), so my guess is either a villain vehicle or another building/scenery set of some kind. "JS" = Jellyfish? Jellyfish Sub? Anyone heard anything about what 70610 could be? @just2good? -

Ah, interesting! I do recall the code on the initial set list was "ZT" and it makes sense that it would be a larger set. Just2Good did say though that Garmadon's mech was in this wave as an exclusive (unless he was misinformed by his source perhaps), so in that case, could the mech be 70610? Only thing there is that the mech looks very large and even scaled down, I expect it would be way too large to work as a 30-40 euro set which is what 70610 would be based on the price list. Or is there supposed to be a 3rd retailer exclusive that I'm missing and the shark mech is one of those along with a 3rd unknown exclusive...? -

Looks like TLG hasn't gone crazy taking down all of the images/videos/links/etc. for the movie sets. Perhaps that means we will be getting some more official images soon. Also, does anyone know what 70610 is? I believe that Just2Good said that 70613 is Garmadon's Shark-Mech which was revealed in the sticker book. If you go by the pricing of the sets revealed so far, then 70610 is either 30 or 40 euros (either the same price as the manta bomber/master falls or water strider). I doubt its a Ninja vehicle since it looks like Cole and Zane's vehicles are being saved for Wave 2. So, I guess either a villain vehicle (Jellyfish flyer?) or another building landscape?
