  1. I think I'll agree-I wish the Spider-Trike at LEAST came with a new Spider-Man! Perhaps TLG could make a few variants with gear and stuff-kind of like how a lot of the ASM action figures were made? But I'll probably get the Spider-Trike anyway for Electro and, despite what I just said, I don't own the newer Spider-Man fig yet (both of my USM sets don't include figs, since I only cared about the models in the January 2013 wave).
  2. Hello there; From what my son and I have learned about Lego over the years, this is my advice: Firstly, you DON'T always need to start big. Try building what you can with pieces you have, even if the model looks really crude in the end- I remember when my son was about 7, he got the 2006 City Harbour set for Christmas. He built dozens of weird and whacky creations with the hull piece (one of which was a Naboo Cruiser). And then, about a year ago, he was inspired by tBone-tbl's Serenity Cuusoo project, and made the majority of a large spaceship which was then submitted to Cuusoo. So, it took just over 4 years for him to properly develop his building skills. Another tip would be to buy lots of sets and use techniques used in them creatively- if you really like the way the trap door is made in the Attack on Weathertop set, where else could it be used? In a pirate ship? Or perhaps in a large Castle display MOC? Lastly, try to develop your own building style. Some people use a lot of illegal techniques, whilst others never use them. Hope this helps!
  3. Good review. My son got this half price at Sainsbury's a few months ago. Great set!
  4. I agree 100%. The worst part of the big GG is that he looks like he is wearing a gym outfit! And the Spider-copter... There isn't even a tailfin on the back!
  5. Cool submarine! I love how it looks small at first, but can still fit a minifig. If you need more ideas, perhaps you could do a MOD on the Penguin's sub from the Batman line? I mean the 08 version, not the other one.
  6. Welcome yo Eurobricks! I'm sure you'll have a great time here!
  7. I think that ultrabuild isn't too bad-as long as you get it for a decent price! Although I don't really like the Hulk ultrabuild. The grey parts look so bad on that one!
  8. The Batcopter is not bad in my opinion, but the colour scheme is a bit off. I will mod mine when I get it.
  9. I actually like the Lab Smash set. But that is hugely biased, because of the Hulk! The Metropolis showdown is really good. It is a bit pointless, what with both of the figures being available in other sets, but the car and scenery are pretty good. I completely agree. I think what TLG is doing at SDCC is completely unfair.
  10. I think you should put that in the Buy, Sell and Trade forum. Anyway, I don't think polybags can count as least favourites, since they have a very limited piece count.
  11. I actually kinda like the Iron Man 3 sets- the buggy didn't look that great, but had some potential and doesn't look nearly as awkward as the Spider-Trike. The boat is rather well-designed, but has a few minor issues. My son modded his into a submarine! The mansion and Heli are decent too, only the single hinge and protruding pillars really bother me.
  12. Great contest! Do we have to make a model from each category or just a model from one if we want (I.e. can I only make a model from the first one or do I have to make a microscale version and rendered version as well) ?
  13. I would say option B.
  14. I would say the King's Castle Siege. It is fantastic like the whole 2007/08/09 line-unlike the 2013 line, which is way too childish in my opinion. The Tiger shark attack also brought me out of my 'dark ages' when my son won it. Oh, and then there's the Diagon Alley shops because of the parts...
  15. Found the 2014 Marvel sets in John Lewis earlier. Hopefully the next wave will be better.

  16. DC: TDK Two-Face Harvey Bullock 'The Batman' Alfred 'The Batman' Clayface Black Mask Red Hood Death Stroke TDK Scarecrow Captain Cold Azrael Huntress Green Lantern Parallax Galius Zed Marvel: Classic Green Goblin White Tiger Peter, Harry, Norman, Aunt May and MJ as remakes of the 2003/04 figures Betty Brant Joe Robertson Daredevil Ghost Rider Thanos Kingpin Elektra
  17. I would like to see this theme return-perhaps with a brick-build longship, a longhouse and more realistic vikings. And perhaps each set could include a leaflet about vikings. One thing that should be the same as the older theme, though, are the price-to-piece's
  18. Cool model.
  19. Not sure I would agree... The BAT is nice and poseable, and the Batman figure has a very nice back print. As for the flame throwing golf cart, it has some nice pieces, but the Mandarin figure isn't that great and the car itself is a bit odd. I think the newer set is better in a few aspects- the old one was <insert that tiresome argument> in some parts (one of the techniques used was two BURPs slapped on top of each other) wheras the newer one uses a good mix of big and small parts. But overall, the two do not compare.
  20. Finally! I hope we do get sets...
  21. Not sure I can disagree with that-but I may pick up the Spider-Trike just for Electro if I can get it on sale. Also, the fact Spider-Man now has vehicles defeats the running joke of Peter not even having a driver's licence I personally like the Steam Roller, but the cab is too open. But I agree about the figures. Oh, and the Batwing looks awkward in my opinion.
  22. I love how you did the wing mirrors! I just hope they don't fall off, or...
  23. Welcome, sir! Have fun on EB!
  24. In contrast to my last topic, this one is about your LEAST favourite Super Heroes set and why. Mine would probably be the Spider-Copter, since apart from Power Man and MJ, there isn't a whole lot of appeal (unless you like the Ultimate GG). As usual, this does not include the old Batman or Spiderman themes, but only the Super Heroes theme from 2012 onwards (or 2011, speaking technically.)
  25. Good customs. Some decals would be great though!
