Yeah, You're probably right that this can be one of the reasons. But, say like 15-30 years, was animated stuff targeted only to kids? I mean, weren't those considered adult stuff as well? Obiosuly people could always choose to watch them or not. But statisticaly, did animation become an adult stuff because of cgi or was it adored by them even before? Surely Disney never thought about his hand drawn animations as stuff targeted only for kids, or even targeted to kids at all. Those were just animated stories. At least at the beginining. Actually a lot of people still consider cgi animations as kids stuff. It often makes a lot of unnecesary confusion, as some adult say that a certain animation was too childish, and some parents complain that some animations should not realy be seen by kids. So, basicaly, they're not that universal anymore. It seems that artist have already problems if they should write them for kids or for adults... Haven't seen Akira yet But with japanese animation, manga and stuff, i'd say that it's mostly adult stuff, as it's just like a different way of showing an adult story. Americans won't use animation to film adult sci-fi flicks, or horror flicks, or erotic flicks. Well, not very often. And apparently Japs are crazy about it. Not a big fun of manga though

I'm not sure about it. And to tell the truth a lot of traditional animation is done using some cgi as well. But, taking a quick look at those budgets it doesn't seem like if they were more expensive. Treasure Island was quite big, but also lost a lot of money in the box office. But, of course, it might be true, i can't say as i'm not an expert at all. Than again, they can always cut on some costs. Like for me it's totaly unnecesary to employ all those big names that dont realy promote the animated movie itself. Yet they take big bucks, like Cameron Diaz, for days on the set, when they could use someone less known and cheaper. Id say that the story and pictire and sound tells what is a hit by itself. Obviously they need to empolot a lot of artists, always, people are what makes movies to cost that much. But again, its obvious that novadays budget are totaly overesized. Like with live action Bruckheimer stuff. 200 mln for a western. Please... Than of course comes the quality. Traditional animation was much better. It stays fresh for decades. And to tell the truth they didnt make like a single good quality cartoon show since 90s or 80s. There were few better ones. But, most of it is crap. Nothing comparing to say GIJoe The Movie and the tv series. In the 90s it all went shiny. Too shiny. And with a lot of overdone characters. Most of the good stuff that came later was good only because of the originality, like Samurai Jack. But if you compare say novadays Scooby Doos and classic Scooby Doos... well there a clear diference. And theres like dozesn of Batman animated movies on dvds every year, and nonce of them can compare to Batman Animated from the 90s... Yeah, we were lucky to live in different times as kids But, thankfully we still have some reruns. Sadly not as often as years ago. I was shocked to learn that my Disney Channel has no classic shows at all. only some novadays crap and live action series

Very true. But it still makes me wonder what stands behind such decision. I mean, it's not that traditional animation is passe, old-styled or something right? Hand drawn classics are still classics, so i cant realy understand why can't they use both ways. They could allow it financialy to run two different teams. It seems that management is behind this. And that its not about art, or money, statistics or anything... just some morons that probably are acting like "we dont need printed books cause we have e-books, lets move with the times"... Or like with making every 2d movie into damn 3d It's realy absurd. And can't they see that cgi animations, although enjoyable at the very first time, are usualy also very forgettable? Eh I cant remember anything almost anything from all those compuer animated features that i've seen 2, 3, or 5 years ago

Yeah... now i've realised i haven't seen them for way too long, need to rewatch though, i wonder why Disney didn't make any traditionial animation since Princess & Frog. It wasn't very good, but rather well received, and they were supposed to release other movies like this every year or two... but it's been 5 years already, P&F premiered in 2009, and they keep doing this computer stuff

He-Man No wonder You prefer Chima cause it's the only Lego franchise that fits with that Mattel title. But i do have to say that i prefer He-Man much more. Well, maybe i could give Chima a try if it was a real toy, line of action figures, i don't like it as a part of Lego at all. Then again, man! He-Man was a hit. I still have all episodes - classic and new adventures. Plus christmas specials. And all that Blackstar rip offs, plus some other. Never seen new tv series though. Not interested very much in seing it either. I got very first Skeletor figure for my cousin, bought in Paris, back in 1986 or 87. Not sure, cause i was only 4,5 years old, and it's a bit blurry. But than, being a little bit older, I remember seing He-Man figure again in Sweden in 1990 or 1991. That guy with a tiger! Wow Never bought it, my father thought it was rather expensive and he was not convinced to buying toys. So ended up with a Kale Anka commic book instead. Have it till today And i'm not sure if I'd prefer that redesigned version of a tiger more. But... back then... it was something. So colourful. So special. And then came classic tv series running in television. And later New Adventures. And those i actually did collect. I had one He-Man and probably one Skeletor, not sure. But G.I.Joe moved in with all their action forces, and wave after wave they got me. But boy, would be fun to collect both MOTU and NA lines again.
