  1. The set looks GREAT. Not sure I like the $130 price tag though. This looks more like a $100 set to me. Agreed about the quantity of minifigs and Kili/Fili??? I will be buying the entire wave on day one. I'm excited.
  2. Dr. Cogg ... genius Dr. Cogg! Don't forget this: I sure hope you're right Darth Draks... But please pass along that it would have to include the Balrog, Treebeard & the Witch King & Fell Beast
  3. NAILED IT Indeed they would! Well, except for DeskP, but everyone else would - Most iconic scene from the first film. INSANITY this wasn't part of the first wave, I'm mind-blown we still don't have it! This, this & this !!! Next round is on me, CHEERS! I couldn't agree more.
  4. I don't see where the article says a Lego giveaway. It does say Mega Blocks though.
  5. That would be an awesome set as Minas Tirith! I'd buy it no doubt.
  6. Couldn't agree more. This whole exclusive situation is really screwing all of the fans this year.
  7. Agreed. Wave 2 was really a waste of time. I'm not in anyway saying I'm not happy with what we have gotten... But a Balrog set WOULD have outsold the Rivendell set. If a kid could choose between ONLY the Balrog/Bridge of Kazad Dum set or what we got for Rivendell, I GUARANTEE you the Balrog would have gone first. Elrond is cool, but to a kid he really doesn't do ANYTHING in the film other than talk. Eowyn, glad to have her but would have been better in a Flight to the Ford type set. Beyond that, mostly only AFOLs wanted this set. This is not a kid set. I am still shocked we never got a Balrog set... it baffles me, it really does. THEE MOST ICONIC SCENE EVER IN FOTR!!! Same goes for the Black Gate vs a Witch King Showdown set. While the BG is cool, it's only half a gate, forcing you to buy 2 *if* you could afford to do so to make a true gate. Most parents won't buy their kids 2 sets just to make a true gate. That's reality. Gandalf the White... yeah, King Aragorn... yeah. The rest of that set is a waste. (now if it included a Battle Troll and the 2nd tower.... we'd be having a different conversation). The Witch King in his armor, his weapons and the Fell Beast... that's a MULTIPLE PURCHASE set! EVERY KID WOULD WANT IT. He's like the Darth Vader of LotR. DUH!!!! I myself would have bought at least 5 sets just to have Fell Beasts for the other Ringwraiths. Ug... I just don't get it. I really don't. I don't understand why, because only a few sets would make the LotR theme truly something special. And it could be done in one wave of 5-6 sets and because of the key things we're missing, it would sell really well.
  8. If you're talking about the TMNT Dark Ninja/Chris Bradford, I agree 100% My thoughts on the split wave theory ... If it's true, the sets have already been made, all the prep work has been done. If they did intent on doing just 2 large waves and we only got half (LotR wave 2), then the remaining sets have either already been produced to meet the timing of product release, or It just simply needs to be put into production (if it hasn't already). NULLIFYING the 8 month thing. IMO, Lego is a big enough company where they can do what they want. I think the LotR line was simply a labor of love. They got the Hobbit license and thought it would be awesome to do some LotR too, they didn't have to, but they're Lego to they did. Mark my words, everything we want to fill the gap exists and is ready to go. For whatever reason, they aren't hooking us up. But if they decided to do another LotR wave, it would be a simple phone call or email.
  9. If it's truly over ... it's really sad. There was SO much potential in this theme/franchise. Especially with how awesome wave 1 was! I can't help but feel let down that we couldn't get one last wave to address to holes in our collections. Treebeard, Witch King in armor on his Fell Beast. Eowyn, Faramir, Gondor Soldiers, Gondor Rangers, Gothmog, any type of Gondor structure (Minas Tirith, Osgiliath), Cirith Ungol, Barad Dur ... SAURON!!! We got a lack-luster wave 2. Not including Treebeard in Orthanc. We got The Wizard Battle when we also got Orthanc. Mouth of Sauron instead of the WITCH KING!!! We got a boat... that was in the movie less than 2 minutes instead of a core Gondor set, which to me is like getting the Star Wars super hero ice cream guy in ESB over getting a Boba Fett. We got some really cool stuff, then Lego dropped the ball BIG TIME and blamed poor sales and lack of interest. Thanks for blue balling us TLG! I love having an incomplete collection.
  10. Lego have also confirmed that there will be an exclusive signing at the booth for SDCC. Since most of the cast of the Hobbit will be present, I'd wager that between the unveiling of the teaser trailer, that teaser shot of the Smaug figure with the game code... the possibility of the big Hobbit set reveals and a cast member signing (Benedict Cumberbatch, Richard Armitrage) could be imminent! And as an afterthought... Maybe... Just maybe... If I'm right about this... It could be a way Lego is trying to raise the awareness and excitement for the line to generate the sales necessary to give the passionate fans that 3rd LotR wave...? I mean, this might be the last Tolkien film EVER. You know they're going out with a bang!
  11. I agree. I'm expecting all 4 sets to be revealed. They'll be revealing the first footage/trailer ever seen for TBotFA, PJ himself will be present... It doesn't get more exciting than that. There's no better time for Lego to capitalize on the hype that this SDCC brings for the Hobbit/LotR/Tolkien fandom.
  12. Authentic Faramir & Eowyn are simply a must in my book!
  13. I really like all of his sets. Especially the Battle of Kazad Dum & Cirith Ungol
  14. PJ has just been CONFIRMED for appearance at SDCC and will show NEW footage in Hall H ... as per TheOneRing.net
  15. I'd buy either of those 2 sets in a heart beat. I actually have looked at the brown mixel thinking about a MOC Treebeard, haha.
  16. I would hope to see pictures of at least one of the sets by Friday night, and then the rest by Sunday. I'm thinking (have a hunch) that PJ will make a surprise visit to SDCC to reveal the first teaser trailer for BoFA, and Lego will follow with reveals of all the sets. That would be awesome.
  17. I want SO much to have an authentic Treebeard. I have been trying to build one to match the Treebeard in the game but I don't have enough clear images... would be so much easier if they just release him as a $20-30 set. (hint hint Lego)
  18. Listen. I'm not calling out anyone or anything. I stated my opinion. If I offended anyone, it's not my problem. Don't misunderstand me. I LOVE what the Hobbit line has to offer. I actually have ALL of the sets and all but 2 on display (Goblin King ... It's just too big for my display, and Laketown). Add to that I will buy the 4 new sets day of release. I'm really excited to finally see them and have the opportunity to get them. Deskp ... I get what you are saying, that the Hobbit movies and theme were really the door for Lego to release LotR sets. But make no mistake, without the success of the LotR Trilogy, we'd have no Hobbit movies. So, it's all good. I disagree with you. No worries mate ... Cheers! SMC hit it, my post was mainly my reply to the possibility of another D2C set... Should it be a Hobbit or LotR set. I gave y'all my opinion and vented my frustration with how the LotR part of the theme has been handled compared to Hobbit. We're all Lego fans here. \m/-_-\m/
  19. Absolutely LOTR... Hobbit has gotten such a great representation in Lego when compared to what's been released for LotR. MORE than enough for my liking. The final four sets will be fine, and really, be honest... what's left for them to make after wave 3? A bigger version of Dale or Erebor? I think not. LotR wave 2 SUCKED & the line still has too may holes: The Balrog, Treebeard, Witch King & Fell Beast, ANYTHING Gondor (be it Osgiliath or Minas Tirith), and even a Prologue set with a brick built Sauron similar to the X-Men Sentinel or GotG Groot. Anything just listed will SELL MUCH BETTER than more Hobbit sets. After wave 3 I am DONE with Hobbit along with everyone else. And in my opinion, the LotR trilogy BLOWS AWAY the Hobbit trilogy. It's SAD and PATHETIC Hobbit got a better more complete showing of Lego sets than LotR. It's a disgrace!
  20. If they put another wave out, I will buy it all. It's that simple.
  21. I Love how Andy is holding The One Ring .... hahahaha!
  22. You never know. They're already working on the sequel, and the current product is selling really well. The 2 smaller sets are selling out weekly here and the movie isn't even out yet.
  23. Loving the GotG sets and the X-men set. Great wave! I hope we get a Rocket Raccoon Warbird soon.
  24. deskp is right. It won't be much longer before we start seeing some stuff. I actually like the suspense. Keeps me more excited for when we do see something.
