Like I said, even if it's an old photo, odd how it should pop up in that particular video NOW. Maybe they visited the idea already and thought it wouldn't work, but now with the Ideas support it might be enough to get it out either as a D2C, final UCS or as an Ideas set.

The line definitely isn't coming back! I think we all know that by now. I just view this as a really good sign that the 10K supported Ideas Minas Tirith is being seriously considered for release. We forced the conversation and they're having it. It's no coincidence about the timing. Also, like I've said in other posts, even if it's an old photo, odd how it should pop up in that particular video NOW. Maybe they visited the a Minas Tirith set already and thought it wouldn't work. Maybe they even finished the sets/wave and because of the shift to 3 films, Lego Movie product (shifting lots of other releases around), etc... It was cancelled? But now with the Ideas support and fan support in general, it might be enough to get it out either as a D2C, final UCS or as an Ideas set.

Definitely not. It is the outer ring/first wall of Minas Tirith. Go here and enlarge the image. It's decent resolution confirms this. Even if it is an old picture, odd how it just happens to pop up now! http://s172.photobucket.com/user/atreyu2112/media/image.jpg1.jpg.html But let's leave this discussion in the LotR sets thread... Back to Hobbit here! Anyone customize the Twilight Witch-King with other helmets or armor to represent the other spirit form Nazgul?

3 of the sets up for the same review definitely won't be made... Avengers Helicarrier (they have their own coming very soon), Jurassic Park (Jurassic World theme coming), UCS AT-AT (they just released an AT-AT, they also *just* released the UCS Slave 1 & have already announced the other SW UCS for this year). Internally, LotR is still loved dearly & externally, here we all are still wanting & talking about it. If one more LotR set is ever going to happen, this is it and the time is now. It covers most of what all the fans have been wanting character-wise and would be a KILLER way to end the theme. After the final Hobbit Extended Edition is released late this year, there will be nothing else to really help sales move along in the general public's eye. ps... Don't get me wrong, I'd be ALL OVER a D2C line! I still want a Balrog & a proper Treebeard just to name a few. This is from the Ideas video they *just* released for the current review. It's from 2015! And I am 100% certain that is the lower ring of Minas Tirith. It looks like they even modded it to be a brick or 2 shorter than NujuMetru's original project. pps... Go to my photobucket page in which you can even make the image bigger at a decent resolution. CLEARLY, this is the outter wall of Minas Tirith! http://s172.photobuc...e.jpg1.jpg.html

They are readily available at all of my local Target/TRU & the only Lego store here (Long Island, NY, USA). Although The Lonely Mountain is not at Target. Stock is selling and has been restocked, especially at Target to my surprise.

Check the Future LotR sets thread... Part of the Minas Tirith build spotted at Lego HQ!!!

He's RIGHT! Just to the right of the lady.

After seeing the Final Duel set, I can't help but feel a bit let down. Sure, there are elements that are great but the design is SO way off. Honestly, I was expecting something very similar to the TMNT Shredder's Lair mixed with elements from this set. I mean, seriously... For the price point they could have/should have given us something WAY more screen accurate. It's not that hard to have modified the Shredder set with the Star Wars elements and knock it out of the park to give us something REALLY special.

I want a Balrog very badly as well. If anyone finds instructions, it might be my first ever attempt to brick link

Why do you care BrickJagger? Seriously...

Both my local TRU have all BotFA sets, MEA, WB, PSA, BG & even saw a BE. 3 local Targets have all BotFA sets EXCEPT TLM. My area Walmarts have NOTHING in any of the toy aisles, no joke.

This looks great! I love it. Thanks for sharing.

I'd grade what we actually got A- That being said, I'd grade LEGO's handling of the theme and set decisions post wave 1 a solid D. Wizard Battle ... wasted spot for something else since this came in Orthanc. Should have been Mirror of Galadriel. Pirate Ship ... wasted spot for something else BIGTIME. When any fan thinks about LotR or RotK, the LAST thing they're thinking about is this. The amount of resources that went into this could have went towards something else iconic. Something that GENERAL FANS & AFOLs alike would actually want. I only bought this set to complete my LotR collection, and at a well reduced price. It's a nice set, but it just makes me angry. A definite wave 3 wishful thinking set. Whoever approved this before all the iconic stuff that was left out should be fired, because they're clueless. Black Gate ... Should have included a second tower/spire to make a true gate. Even if the set was $10 more, why didn't they do it? Seriously, it's like getting a great jet plane... minus one wing. WTF? Great set otherwise. Council of Elrond ... Great set, but should have been a wave 3 set AFTER we got all iconic action/battles represented. Orthanc ... My ONLY gripe is that since we didn't get a stand alone Treebeard set, he should have been here. and for the price, I feel it should have had a few more minifigures. Armored Lurtz & the fat Orc captain Saruman tells to burn the forest. For me, I've said it before, the absence of the BALROG, Minas Tirith, Treebeard, Witch-King, Fell Beast, Faramir & Eowyn... leaves me sad and speechless. It wouldn't take much to put out one small wave with that stuff.

Same here. And sadly I was waiting for a sale or bogo to grab Lake Town Chase and I think I've missed out because NO ONE has them anymore.
-
Besides wanting a proper Cloud City, and after watching the final S6 Clone Wars episodes, I'd really like to get Yoda's Jedi Starfighter. What a cool little ship.
-
Orthanc is EPIC. I would also strongly suggest Helms Deep and An Unexpected Gathering (Bag End) if you can find them.

Looks great!!!

It sucks, but I wouldn't wait for a sale. I don't think these will be around too long.

My biggest gripe with the Hobbit theme is the omission of Elf and Dwarf solders, and Bolg. Honerable mention to Beorn in bear form. Which leads me to the only set I have yet to get... You know, the one named after the movie? I get why they put in who they did to that set but honestly, Lego was just cheap. Thorin should have been in The Lonely Mountain. Period. Not in another figures place either, just in addition. In Thorin's place should have been a Iron Hill Dwarf soldier. I get having Legolas, but we already got the same one TWICE before. This should have been a Elf soldier. Bard... got 3 variants! Necessary? IDK, I like having this version, but 1. He's already in another set in this wave and 2. This is where Bolg could have been (or either Laketown set). I also wish that instead of the Batista we would have gotten another Dale building structure. The only other set in the entire Hobbit theme I have gripe with is the Mirkwood Elf Army. The structure itself. This should have been the water gate. Could have easily been the same size (as many here have demonstrated) and would have made much more sense in tying in with both the film and the Barrel Escape set. And yet even ANOTHER spot Bolg could have been. So, there it is... My last set needed to complete my collection is TBotFA. My favorite Hobbit Theme sets are Unexpected Gathering, The Lonely Mountain & all of the combined Dol Guldur sets.

Sure... A few times sets just popped up. Orthanc being one of them. I finally got a 2nd Black Gate (for Xmas from the wife) & even... A Pirate Ship Ambush to complete my LotR collection. I now have every set and poly! Woohoo. I now hope there will be #onelastset ... or even #onelastwave to truly cap things off!

I saw all the new 2015 sets here in NY... Long Island TRU. All but Anakins JSF and the Rebels Walker. The Inquisitor and his TIE are surprisingly awesome!

Looking through the January-June catalog, it seems Lego is doing away with a LOT of the licenses. Only Star Wars & Super Heroes (Marvel/DC). No new Hobbit or LotR (expected), and no new TMNT . . . it looks like I'll be going back into my dark age. I'm still hoping to get the few more sets I really want, but I know it's only a fools hope. If there will be more Lord of the Rings, Hobbit or Middle Earth sets, I will buy them. Surprisingly, NO sales or real deals for the holiday season this year on Hobbit OR LotR sets! I figured TRU would want to clearance them out, especially older sets like the Pirate Ship Ambush, Black Gate, etc... I wanted to get a few extras just to have. . .

Some news is better than no news. Good to hear there aren't any licensing issues. I really hope to get a wave of sets, or at least a lone Ideas set, selfishly to complete my own collection... But with all the negative comments and people coming into this topic *JUST* to say this shouldn't even BE a topic - I hope even MORE to get a wave of sets just to shut you up! The topic should stay OPEN. Ideas set is up for review, others are on the rise with support. Lego themselves have taken notice. There is a lot of general public awareness for Middle Earth with the new movie coming out, Hobbit wave 3 *just* hit shelves very recently... I mean seriously, if SW Ep 7 was hitting next week and we were still in the same spot I could understand closing it down, but damn... you guys need to go get a drink and chill out. No harm, no foul.

Speaking of a Balrog... this Ideas one could use some more support ~ https://ideas.lego.com/projects/70624
