  1. I’m still flabbergasted that the $150 MTT doesn’t have any new minifigure moulds. I know leakers would have said otherwise by this point if it were true but part of me still prays Aayla and Bly are only part of the minifigure lineup.
  2. I really, really hope some solid effort is placed into the Doomsday sets - printing, new moulds, all of it.
  3. Seriously, it feels like we got spoiled last year with these and I wish they’d have kept the trend going. Boarding the Tantive IV was more or less flawless, Paz vs. Gideon had a great little build and some fantastic minifigures, and Duel on Peridea was super accurate to the source material with a solid character selection (I somewhat understand the ‘grey slab’ complaints but personally the black pillars and gold accents make it pop IMO). If we do get more location sets moving forward, I hope they’re of the same quality as these three sets. @Mandalorianknight Same here with the Ahsoka series, loved it and can’t wait for Season 2. Every Lego set based on the show has been strongly designed too. The lack of an Enoch still annoys the hell out of me given Lego were perfectly willing to create new moulds for the Imperial Supercommandos, Praetorian Guards, and Moff Gideon’s helmet last year. He either should have been in the Peridea set or been included in this year’s Battle Pack. I get why army builders are happy about his omission but I’d much rather get the character than not get him at all just to make the BP amassable. Not exactly like we’re getting many new moulds this summer by the sounds of things anyway.
  4. Sounds like the apartment at least won’t have a sizeable side-build like the police car, that’s something! It would be so nice to get a new Spidey figure (PS5 suit when?). Really enjoyed the new F4 trailer. I’ve been largely apathetic of the group since the old 2000’s films but this movie looks like it’ll be something special. I sincerely hope the Galactus set gets some new moulds in there for the minifigures.
  5. The Workshops look pretty awesome! I bought all the Ninjago City sets up until the Gardens and will most likely buy this. That said, I still feel like the Gardens set was the last Ninjago City model that felt truly mindblowing.
  6. Always refreshing seeing a modern mech build that doesn’t use those fixed Ninjago limbs. Awesome build! With how ancient and arcane Peridea is I could easily see this being an ancient titan encountered by Thrawn during his exile
  7. It’s funny how much playsets for kids tend to actually be the most fun to build with play features that are well thought out. The way you’ve spaced out the build reminds me of the system-scaled DSII throne rooms we got in 2015 and 2020, especially with how each segment has its own unique look and features. Really good stuff!
  8. Exactly that. I hope one of the more observant LAN members deigns to ask the LEGO Star Wars team about this during the LEGO Fan Media Days at some point. Diversifying your product portfolio isn’t in itself a bad thing, but this really is excessive. It’s odd, Marvel and Harry Potter also have their fair share of buildables, but Star Wars has taken the volume of these sets in an extreme direction this year. I hope it doesn’t set a precedent for what the future of this theme entails.
  9. This would be much, much better IMO than a boring oversized AT-ST. Love how a system-scale Endor set is seemingly out of the question but they’re super keen to go for a buildable Ewok and a UCS-level AT-ST. @Mandalorianknight I think you may have touched on this before, but the increased emphasis on 18+ sets that almost aggressively go out of their way to be as non-minifigure compatible as possible strikes me as Lego wanting to attract customers who aren’t necessarily fans of Lego, and who want these collector pieces to be as discreet as possible. I feel like the LSW team are coming dangerously close to losing sight of how good location / ship builds with minifigures to interact with them are the heart and soul of this theme by choosing to go after this sort of audience at the expense of putting out less traditional sets. It just sets a very weird precedent where even if the LSW team choose to cover a certain piece of media, it could very well be a helmet, statue, midi-scale ship, or Brickheadz (case in point, The Force Awakens sets this year). In essence, anything but an actual set with minifigures.
  10. From a minifigure point of view, Iron Patriot Mk. 1 really is the draw of the set. It’s weird to get a Hall of Armour without any actual new Iron Man suits though - isn’t the point of revisiting the Armoury sets specifically to put out more cool Iron Man variants? Again, the lack of a Mark 42 is an absurd omission (frankly I wouldn’t have minded skipping jacked Han Solo / Killian if that would have freed up some print budget). I can’t imagine any reason for omitting the Mark 42 (and some more variants) other than, as usual for this theme, budget. I’m not sure if I’m being overly dramatic here but it’s crazy how restricted the budget seems to be for superhero sets compared to other themes. Hopefully the Mark 42 will be covered sometime in the future, it’s one of my favourite suits.
  11. The face print is actually perfect! I love it when face prints really capture an actor’s likeness given how abstract and simplified minifigures are.
  12. I would’ve put Obi-Wan in the set just so Jango can fight him, but I suppose that would scupper sales of his Delta-7. It’s such an odd decision releasing a playscale and UCS version of a ship within literal months of each other. A new hair / hat combo for Dedra would be awesome. Hell they made a specialised hair / hat mould for Rose’s First Order disguise that only ever appeared in one set! Nothing is impossible. Given that the V-19 includes Obi-Wan in his Clone Wars armour, I hope we get Anakin in his armour too at some point, as weary as I am of clone sets. Personally I think the MTT should’ve included Season 1 Anakin along with Phase 1 Rex and some other clones.
  13. Very nicely done! The fantasy setting and play features are excellent.
  14. I’ve been wanting this since Rivendell first released - the Gandalf minifigure just doesn’t look right with the hat piece on. This would be the right time to introduce a new mould especially as Gandalf is presumably coming in the Book Nook too.
  15. That Ninjago limb piece has taken over all mech builds because of the stability it provides right? I definitely see the benefits of that and the bulky look it provides can look good, but I agree the lack of articulation it affords these mech builds feels like a big downgrade. I know leakers have said not to expect much from the AoU Quinjet build but I’m staying positive regardless. Always love the large jet / ship builds we’ve been getting over the past few years.
  16. That Jack Black likeness is pretty great
  17. Balance is the key word here. Star Wars films / shows / media in general has such a wide breadth that you’ll have fans of everything. For the most part, Lego have been doing a good job catering to fans of all eras and new media over the past few years which is why the almost singular focus of this summer is giving whiplash to quite a few of us. Anyway, basing the majority of the summer sets on TCW isn’t so much the problem, but it’s the seeming lack of new characters outside of new clone leaders and legions (and no, Aayla Secura and Ki-Adi Mundi aren’t exactly anything to write home about). A new Dooku, Magnaguard, Separatist Leaders etc. would’ve gone a long way in making these sets far more interesting than just more clones in more colours, and I say this as a big TCW fan. More than anything I’m just sad we’re getting less and less cool large builds - and ships large enough to merit bigger sets get continuously downscaled whilst buildable figures continue clogging up more and more of these $100 slots. Shocks me that ships like the Stinger Mantis are off the table but obscure vehicles like the UT-AT still get made, but I’ll maintain some optimism for the summer wave.
  18. From the sounds of things, this is definitely the poorest summer wave we’ve had in a long time, almost comically so. Every year there’s usually at least a handful of summer sets that pique my interest but this time it’s just the V-19. I’m also baffled at the choice of having 3 buildable characters using up the ~$100 price point in a single wave. And you’re right about the lack of new moulds. Makes the lack of an Enoch even more confusing. More money for other themes and Micro Galaxy Squadron I suppose…
  19. Yeah I agree. Bly and Aayla aren’t exactly enough pull for a $150 set IMO. Also two minifigures and 10 droids in such an expensive set just doesn’t sound right.
  20. I do wonder if SM-33’s omission from the Cinder is simply because Lego couldn’t be bothered to spend money on a new mould for him. He was included in a lot of pre-release promotional material like posters and even the teaser trailer so it’s hardly like the character was kept a secret. Then again, even Hasbro haven’t tackled the character yet. Given the abundance of Phase 2 clone sets we’re getting this year, I wonder if Lego will choose to switch things up and include Phase 1 clones / early TCW season characters in the MTT. I still have my fingers crossed for a Season 1 Anakin to pair with Obi-Wan from the V-19 and it would be awesome to get a modern P1 Rex too.
  21. This actually sounds like a pretty awesome list of sets. A small set based on the climax of Iron Man 2 is brilliant (I didn’t know Genndy Tartakovsky storyboarded that Hammer Drone fight sequence!), and another Endgame set with Thor makes me hopeful they’ll finally make an accurate figure of him with the Wyldfyre hairpiece from Ninjago. That Iron Patriot better be bulky too. The new Spider-Man sets sound cool too, although I wonder if there’s still another Sony set we don’t know of as I was really hoping we’d finally get a helmeted Green Goblin.
  22. Some quick thoughts: - No Enoch is a huge bummer. I can’t see there being more Ahsoka sets and it just goes to show he should’ve been included in last year’s Peridea set to begin with. - I’m sure Bly will be included in the 327th Battle Pack, just doesn’t make sense to omit him and Lego haven’t used the macrobinocular piece since that one battle pack in 2023. - A buildable B1 makes all the sense in the world but I really hate how much these ~$100 price point sets keep getting allocated to buildable figures rather than some well designed ships and locations. I’m craving a set with the same quality that ships like the Scythe have. I wonder how many new minifigure parts will be introduced this year? The potential for them seems quite low given what we know. I’d love to see Dooku and some new Magnuaguards be introduced in the MTT.
  23. Makes sense to time the release of the F4 set closer to the film’s debut, can’t wait to see how it looks. With all the hints we’ve been getting over the past week, I’m more excited for Marvel’s summer wave at this point than I am for Star Wars. Fingers crossed we get a set list soon.
  24. Remember the good old days where we all thought the saturation of 18+ sets during 1HY25 meant we’d get lots of cool system sets during the summer? Those were simpler times. It’s almost comical how much this year is largely split between 18+ sets and clone sets with very little in between. I wonder how many new minifigure moulds we’ll be getting this year. Given the abundance of clone sets they’ll obviously only need to reuse the P2 helmets for the vast majority of them. Still holding out for an Enoch in the Night Trooper BP. Super happy to hear TCW Season 1 Obi-Wan is included with the V-19 though. If Mace of all characters can get arm printing there really is no excuse for Obi-Wan not to. It’d be cool to get Season 1 Anakin with the MTT too.
  25. Obi-Wan and Anakin in their Clone Wars armour would definitely make this a must-buy for me. But yeah like the rest of you have said, the clone-heavy nature of the summer wave is quite disappointing to hear about. I still don’t understand why sets on Fallen Order / Survivor are out of the question :(
