Lego One Piece rumors and discussion
Kaijumeister replied to Battlinpanther's topic in LEGO Licensed
Has anyone started watching the show after seeing the Lego sets? I’m a couple of episodes in now and am enjoying it thoroughly. Might even pick up the two smallest sets. It feels so refreshing seeing a brand new licensed theme where both the builds and minifigures are top-notch. There’s not a single set in this wave that looks half-baked or phoned in IMO. -

I can definitely see the potential behind the Smart Brick even if a lot of Lego’s electronic / app integrated products haven’t been great. At least that somewhat explains the absurd prices behind the X-Wing and TIE Advanced. Presumably the minifigures will also have some electronic components inside their torsos. On that note, not getting a TIE Avenger majorly sucks. Also seems like a missed opportunity not waiting until 2027 to provide the definitive system-scaled versions of the X-Wing and TIE Advanced and instead rushing out deformed looking versions next year simply to integrate the Smart Brick. I would love to see some creative and novel building techniques used for Star Wars ships the way the Speed Champions sets are done. All in all, 1HY26 continues to look like an absolute borefest. Hoping the TMaG sets break that mould but even so, getting another Razor Crest and AT-AT is hardly exciting (assuming they’re pipelined given their prominence in the trailers that have been released so far). -

Bit of a boring wish from my side but if one of these sets could be a TDKR Bat and Bat-Pod with Batman, Catwoman, and Bane, I’d be really happy -
Finally bought some 2025 LSW sets after indulging in no Lego purchases this year: - Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor - ARC-170 Starfighter - Rebel U-Wing Starfighter - Plo Koon Microfighter - Death Trooper and Night Trooper Battle Pack - V-19 Torrent - MTT - UCS Jango Fett’s Slave I (and scored the Kamino Training Facility GWP too). Wasn’t planning on buying all of these but some Lego Gift Cards and Insiders points (coupled with Amazon discounts) made this a more reasonable purchase.

Are the Wolfpack the last major remaining clone legion people are clamouring for? Is the end truly in sight? Arguably a non-absurdly priced super battle pack would be a nice and tidy way to deliver that, heck just throw Wolffe in there too even if people will whine about it diluting the purpose of a battle pack or whatever. (Obviously) agree about the Avenger by the way. Cassian, a Range Trooper, and a Stormtrooper would be the perfect minifigure lineup. The Sienar Test Pilot outfit looks so cool. I’m burned out on clones as much as the next person but I need a General Anakin Skywalker figure now to put next to Obi-Wan from the V-19. A Phase 1 Captain Rex would be great too but I really need that Anakin. After that my TCW itch is scratched. -

Hear hear. Locking the Breath of the Wild versions of these characters especially behind such a large price point still seems absurd to me. The game released in 2017 and brought a lot of new (not to mention young) fans into the fold. Would some more affordable sets have really killed anyone? If next year’s TLoZ set is Tears of the Kingdom themed (and is based around minifigures and not a buildable Rauru’s arm or whatever), I’d be ecstatic but also disappointed that, again, something that is based on a very recent game is priced out of reach for most people who would be into it. -

Not sure how accurate Wikipedia is, but Far from Home filmed from July through October 2018 whilst No Way Home filmed until March 2021 (although COVID restrictions were also a factor there). Doesn’t seem like Brand New Day is that large an outlier, particularly as they were waiting for Holland to finish filming the Odyssey. But yeah I’m hoping for at least one solid set from this film, and that new suit is all sorts of awesome so dual moulded legs and printed arms are a must. Wouldn’t be shocked if they did one medium-sized set, one buildable figure, and one Brickheadz set and called it a day though Plus the leaked Hasbro Marvel Legends listings for next year do list Spidey, Punisher, and Hulk (all confirmed casting info for the film so not spoilers right?) so getting those 3 at least is a given I’d think, but I do hope his rogues gallery from the film also get proper Lego representation. I just want a Raimi Green Goblin with a new helmet (oh no, that’ll shatter the budget!) and proper torso / leg printing. The NWH GG should have been one of the best minifigures in this theme given how cool the live action design was, but they really fumbled it. Fingers crossed this year’s Spider-Man 2 set paves the way for more Raimi sets eventually. Watching the reviews for the summer wave, the Quinjet, Train Scene, and Peter’s Apartment are the standout sets for me. Oscorp should have been a winner of a set but the low piece count, reused mini figures, and facade-like nature of the buildings coupled with the mostly simple builds compromise it severely. Focusing all the pieces on the main tower would have been preferable because no way does this justify a summer flagship price point. The ATSV CMF wave is phenomenal. I probably would have switched out some of the more obscure characters with Spider-Man Noir, ITSV Prowler, Miles’ hooded suit etc. but have pre-ordered the full CMF set. -

Exactly my line of thinking too. I was also thinking about the old Galoob Micro Machines playsets and how fun their layouts were. Their topology could translate quite well into Lego playsets. I find it interesting that both Lego Star Wars and Marvel have reached a point over the past couple of years where a non-trivial number of people on this forum (anecdotal but still) are largely writing off 1HY sets as fairly bland or uninspiring in anticipation of 2HY being where things actually get interesting. Star Wars only gets a couple of typically small to medium System sets whilst Marvel rehashes the same old Spider-Man vehicles with a sprinkle of Infinity Saga sets every 1HY. That’s just the way the cookie crumbles moving forward with these Disney-owned themes I guess, but the wait does get painful having to wait a whole year between each summer wave until the ‘good’ stuff comes along. I suspect this also feeds into why the complaints about this year’s summer wave in particular have been so pronounced as well, because people have been waiting longer which allows expectations to marinate. Unfortunately even when Jedi 3 does come out, I have no confidence that the LSW team will actually make any sets on it. But really that’s the most disappointing aspect of 2025 for me. The lull in Star Wars content would’ve made this the perfect year to ‘catch up’ on content people have been asking for more representation of, but instead we get even less System sets and those we do get are predominantly focused on clones. I feel the same way though. This year there’s maybe 5 sets in total that I want to get, it’s a far cry from previous years where most sets had their own appeal in some way or another. -

Late to the party but that WALL-E set is perfection. - Wouldn’t have believed a downscaled WALL-E could somehow compete with the old Ideas one, but it does! The proportions and detailing are fantastic. - EVE looks incredibly expressive and I like that her hands are articulated. - M-O, the uncontested wingman of the film, is a delightful addition. f o r e i g n c o n t a m i n a n t It’s really cool that Hal, the trash cube, and boot plant are all included too. Genuinely a faultless set. I’m typically soured on buildable characters because of Star Wars, but the format is perfectly suited for WALL-E. -

That’s a good question. We have received comic / cartoon and live action variants of the same characters on shelves at the same time before, but in terms of character debuts I don’t believe so. -

Yeah I agree with this, either that or just use the UCS label for everything regardless of whether it’s an oversized vehicle, playset, etc. You don’t happen to collect Micro Galaxy Squadron do you? They revealed a $15 TIE Avenger with a tiny Cassian figure during SDCC. Hopefully Lego Star Wars follows suit. I can’t say I’m overly excited by the Death Star rumours and figures we’ve seen so far. Dual moulded legs for Imperial Officers etc. in a $1000 set shouldn’t even be in question (and I won’t even start on characters like Threepio not having it despite there being other cheaper sets including that). They can’t even use the ‘but we were limited by budget!’ excuse when, again, this is going to be the priciest Lego set to date. I’ll reserve my judgement until the full reveal though, as I’m sure there’ll be plenty of cool aspects about it. More than anything though, seeing the set choices being made for LSW, coupled with the increased dilution of set types and the increasing decimation of part counts for price points, makes it all the more sad that large, well designed location playsets just don’t seem to be a consideration for this theme. I’m thinking of sure-fire subjects like a Death Star, Cloud City, or Endor playset occupying the £140 summer flagship price point. How aren’t these a thing? With the Death Star and Cloud City in particular, the different areas and sense of levelling / verticality is ripe for clever play functions and cool builds. Endor would make for an awesome standard playset too, but again that’s outside the realm of possibility but somehow a UCS AT-ST and buildable Wicket being released in the same wave aren’t. I guess Yavin IV was Lego’s litmus test for such an idea but it wasn’t terribly popular, though I’d maintain that the execution of that set rather than the idea of it was where it went wrong. -

Yep that’s right. Great stuff that a Nightcrawler is supposedly coming. I presume they’d want to squeeze as much out of a new mould for him (if planned), hence creating both X-Men ‘97 and Doomsday versions. -

Such a good point, especially when the ship itself is predominantly grey too! This is just…sad. If dioramas were still a thing then I wouldn’t be too annoyed with the glut of buildable characters / helmets / starship collection models. I’ve seen more than a few comments calling these ‘dust collectors’ and I’m inclined to agree. And yeah again the lack of diversity in set waves is frustrating. I still find it painfully amusing that the Lego Star Wars team seem reluctant to make any more System sets based on the Battle of Endor, however they’re fine releasing a UCS AT-ST and buildable Wicket in the same summer wave. It’s like missing the forest for the trees. The artwork on the side of each Black Series box coupled with the colourful trims really elevates them (especially the newer style Hasbro have been using after the window-less boxes didn’t work out). Whilst the coloured banners / ribbons on 18+ Lego sets are pleasant, I still think the complete black background is utterly devoid of soul. Saves a lot of money on packaging design at least I imagine. ’Wide as the ocean and deep as a puddle’ - that made me chuckle, and it’s a rather accurate way of describing the theme this year. So, buildable characters! We received 5(!) this year, and I’m sure they’ll try to match or exceed that next year. I wonder what characters they’re planning for 2026 to clog up more set slots. There’s no denying the builds themselves are solid, but do we truly need so many? -

The video also has Johnny in his Human Torch form At this point, whether this is because of timing the set before these moulds were available or because it’s the usual penny pinching forced by the Superheroes budget, it’s nonetheless amusing that: - Reed didn’t get his stretchy arms despite Luffy reintroducing that torso mould in the August One Piece sets. - Johnny isn’t in his Human Torch form despite the removable flaming headpiece introduced within this very theme, also in August. A trans-clear alternate head with that headpiece would have been more than sufficient, even if they still used the same torso and legs. And like you say, a small H.E.R.B.I.E build wouldn’t have broken the bank surely. Plus the lack of a Silver Surfer is also a shame (the Ben Kenobi hairpiece from the Obi-Wan show in grey / silver would have worked IMO). Regardless of the quality of Doomsday and Brand New Day next year, I hope the Superheroes team is given a little more budget to actually make good versions of their characters. It’s a bummer when this theme constantly reuses minifigures or puts minimal effort into them to begin with, doubtless for budgetary reasons. -

No denying this to be honest. As much as I’m not intending to buy either set, it’s awesome that 2025 has finally given us a new cockpit piece for both the Eta-2 and T-47. For those of us who’ve been collecting LSW for a decent amount of time, I think it’s easy to overlook the number of resurrected moulds this year too as the novelty factor isn’t really there, but regardless the number of new / resurrected(*) moulds this year isn’t bad: - ARC-170 Pilot helmet* - K2’s head / torso* - Dedra’s hair / hat - New rangefinder - Death Trooper helmet* - P1 pilot helmet - Ventress’ lightsaber hilts(*) - Lama Su’s head - Pauldron - Commando Droid head(*) - Bacara’s helmet - Galactic Marine helmet Solid lineup of new minifigure / character parts all round. -

Avenger, Avenger, Avenger, Avenger (pretty please Lego)… Cassian in the Sienar Test Pilot suit would make for a brilliant minifigure, and hopefully this time they can use Harry Potter’s Goblet of Fire for him. It’s weird how TLJ Luke’s mullet piece has been used for both Cassian and Ezra in the past, when Harry’s GoF would work so much better. @BrickPrick Honestly, I feel your frustration. This theme has been pushing its luck with value for money over the past few years, but the bigger summer sets have at least been consistent in overall volume of ‘stuff’ (as Jang would put it) over the past few years: - ISD - Dark Falcon - Ghost - Coruscant Guard Gunship - AT-TE - Justifier - Imperial Light Cruiser etc. But this year, it’s like they’re hardly even trying. It’s all the more egregious when the volume of system sets has fallen so precipitously, how can there not be a single set this year on the same level as those above? Heck, as much as I like the MTT, I can’t help but wonder how much better it could have been with a few hundred more pieces. Enough has already been said about the Juggernaut. I just hope this doesn’t portend a new trend with this theme where objectively large vehicles that merit large sets are all given ruthlessly low part counts but still sold at the same price point as the large vehicles listed above. Ironically I can imagine it must be so frustrating for the designers to have to work against constraints this harsh. -

I’d be willing to wager they want to produce a Bat-Pod eventually, but haven’t figured out an appropriately scaled and stable build for it. Puts salt on the wound knowing they made a buildable figure scaled one though, although I suppose that’s easier to accomplish. But yeah the lack of DC sets next year sucks. -

At this point one could mumble ‘Spidey cars..mechs…venomised characters’ and be referring to every winter wave over the course of 4 years. Is ‘creatively bankrupt’ too harsh a term here? Really though, if they could at least put out new Spidey variants people have been asking for (Symbiote suit, Insomniac suit etc.) that would at least be something. -

100%! At this point we know to expect the good stuff during the summer, and the ‘filler’ stuff during the winter. I do wonder why yet more Spider-Man cars and mechs get greenlit year after year though. Plus (presumably) the same old Spider-Man / Miles Morales / Spider-Gwen minifigures being endlessly recycled too. I suppose the sales numbers speak for themselves. -

I know 4+ sets have their own budgets and all, yet I can’t help but lament how great it would be if mainline Superheroes sets had enough budget for new minifigure moulds the way the Spidey and His Amazing Friends sets do. Saying that, there is the Spider-Verse CMF so I shouldn’t complain. -

At this point if the TIE Avenger does happen, they need to give you a shoutout in the instruction manual I’m hoping the lack of clarity on this being an ‘Imperial set’ does mean it’s based on a newer piece of media and is therefore the Avenger. Regarding location builds, the Tantive hallway and Mandalorian bunker builds from last year were AWESOME. I personally thought they’ve been a big step up for Star Wars location builds compared to what we’ve received in the past. More location sets with this sort of quality would be most welcome. What’s everyone’s favourite non-UCS set this year? It’s looking to be the MTT for me just because of the droid rack mechanism. I do quite like the V-19 as well despite the proportions and lack of wing mechanism. -

Is this potentially the new TIE Avenger? With 2026 news slowly trickling out, I’m curious if we can expect a TDKR set next year. A set with the Bat, Bat Pod, and Batman / Catwoman / Bane would be terrific.
