People don't know the pride of Russian engineering when it comes to reliability? You can often fix those vehicles with chewing gum and a pair of shoelaces You use some great construction techniques there Vadim. Good work. Does the suspension move as well?

Parks outside of Denmark? Are you sure those are not just embassies? BTW. It sounds like Berlin has all my favorite parts of LEGOLAND: Miniland and PaB

It is hard to find someone who has taken a lot of pictures of the moon base layout, but there are some scattered around if you search for "Klodsfest" (2008) on Brickshelf. There are a couple in this gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery....314831&n=48 We are gathering pictures at the moment.

Thanks for the positive remarks guys. I was actually quite skeptic about how this creation would be received, being all white and black and stressing the bricks in, what has to be, illegal ways. I wanted to make an interior, but there are no big doors or entrances, so I sufficed with a couple of boat weights: I'm a huge Sci-fi fan and watch a lot of it, but the inspiration for this module is actually from Spiderman 2 now that I think of it. There is a power core suspended between metallic arches and the smaller arms keep it in check. I expect my next Space creation to be a mothership with focus on playability, but it might end up looking good enough to post as well. I have been planning it for the last year, but there isn't much free time to build in.

Yep. The Moon Base is a standard. See here. I have also built a Futuron module here and they were both on the big display at a resent event. It is actually quite an obvious candidate for a community project to build a big moon base with some common space themes. Thanks, but all these creations were built during this past half year. I simply saved them up for an event. It will take some time before I post new creations again - I have a lot of work piled up. Real work that is

This was my first Moon Base module to begin building and last to finish. I began already in January and it took me a day just to find out how to build the wheels, then another day to make the wheel assemblies. When it was put on display, the Spyrius module blocked the view for these details, so here they are unobstructed. It is a supply module for both power, food and replacement parts. The transports can connect the crates to the special end connection. There is also a reskin of the MM Trike. It has a power core so it can work outside the power sphere of the Zebra. I have tried to give the greeble a purpose (is that not an oxymoron?). The power core sparks are made using transparent orange robot hands. The mandatory landing platform is a removable end connection. Use the ladders to crawl inside. The radiation is the least of your worries Brickshelf gallery.

I needed a module to place my mothership on in the KlodfFest layout this year: There are two modules. The first is a small L-corridor. It has greeble everywhere - on both sides and the roof. The big landing platform is a simple X-corridor with the four rounded parts suspended by Technic pins. It has some machinery in each of these parts, but it's hard to see. The colors are kept more in black than we usually see in Spyrius. I thought it looked better with this mix on the red surface. Robots are ready to service the next ship The gaaard... keeps guard Spyrius needs a lot of antennae for surveillance The small landing platform can lift off in case of emergency landings The Brickshelf gallery.

Model Team: Mini Truck
Lasse D replied to Lasse D's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Firefly is my all time favorite show, so it will show up once in a while in one form or another. I'm glad you like the truck, and isn't it funny to see how criticism can help? I was dead stuck on the last design. Thanks for your input. I kinda like how the head lights look, although I would like to close the little hole where the angle meet. The prototype I did on computer had a more exaggerated angle: It is hard to decide where Model Team creations should go. I guess the internals might qualify for "Technic", but it doesn't really fit in. I have like 10 topics that have to be moved if they should go in "other", so I'm glad I'm not the mod On the other hand. If I was, I would create a Model Team forum -
And he even remembered to add theme specific things such as the containment containers for Space Police II. That's way too cool
-
I can see all my other Model Team topics have been moved here, although it's neither Bionicle, Technic nor Mindstorms, so here it goes! Some might remember last year when I introduced my mini truck and received some constructive criticism that lead to some changes in the roof. This truck has now been rebuilt with a new front, motor, interior and even a trailer. The only thing to stay unchanged is the back of the truck with the rear suspension, automated coupling and top with the sleeping cabin. The steering is special because of the short front. It took quite some time to get the front of the truck right from the slopes in the grill to the mirrors and writings on the sides The brickshelf gallery.

legoland pick-a-bricks prices?
Lasse D replied to Pate-keetongu's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I was just out there: 100g.: 60kr. This is the price when your purchase is less than 500g. After that it's 180kr. for each 100g. in order to discourage the kind of behavior we saw at the opening. There is a small discount if have your purchase in a small bag. I can have 200g. of GBC balls in such a bag. A little hint: Rip off the top of the small bag. It makes it easier to fill and might save you enough weight to have an extra brick. The big pool of LEGO for PaB is no more. The rest of the bricks were given away the last day last year. People filled big garbage bags of bricks - I was just out there the day before -
Really nicely done. The mix of panels and plates for windows in the helicopter works well. But I have to disagree with you regarding the Predator. It is science fiction - the one we had in Denmark was never operational

Captain Green Hair and Mr. Tiber's Steampunk Pirate Ship
Lasse D replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
That is one extremely impressive steampunk ship! And I thought you were all building Fabuland stuff I have just watched Last Exile and the ships in that series are quite different from the steampunk MOCs I have seen. Are there subgenres of the steampunk subgenre? -
Until then you can get some better pictures of the spider in the official announcement here: http://www.l3go.bugge.com/space_gallery/78.shtml I will not hijack this thread with it, so back on topic.

Reviving your post because I finally finished my Futuron module. It is called the "Zebra" for obvious reasons and it was in our red Moonbase (Marsbase?) layout at the Klodsfest event. We didn't coordinate the colors apart from the red baseplates. There are two small crate transports and a rebuilt trike in the Futuron theme as well, but everything else is from other themes, mostly home made. I will get some better pictures and start a new thread once I get time in the next weekend. I think you are right about the modules not fitting together.

One day of planning, two days to build the wheel (it has to be tightened over a longer span of time and it wasn't obvious how to build the buckets), a day to build the rest and a week for fine tuning and calibrating. It took quite some time to work out most of the ways it can jam and throw balls away. I think it has reached an acceptable compromise now. >Asuka The others will kill me if I introduced yet another space theme. I will rebuild this module and build as many modules as possible until the next LEGO Fan Weekend in Skærbæk. There was a great display last year and I'm sure it can be even better if the Bellug people show up again. By that time I should also consider getting a video camera... Edit Here is how it got connected to the other modules:

REVIEW: 8291 Dirt Bike
Lasse D replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I have just finished building this set. I was a bit disappointed with the amount of bricks when they were out on my table, but the final model is really nice and totally makes up for that. I like the small details like on the handles and fuel tank and the only real negative thing I can say is that the cog seems a bit oversized in the rear. I don't know if the designer frequents this forum, but I'm sure he will be happy about how much you like it - it took quite some time/prototypes to get to this design: (Sorry about the size of the picture - it isn't mine) -
Update from 2019 I have made a new and stable version of the GBC module for which there are building instructions: The new module has a latch and lifting counterweight mechanism to make the tipper function reliable. The building instructions can be found here: https://brickhub.org/i/425 The tipper fills up: The counter weight lifts until the latch comes undone and the tipper tips: And empties: Closeup of the latch mechanism, which doubles as a stop mechanism for balls, so they do not fall onto the tipping tipper: The module can be placed in self-feeding mode, just like the old module from 2008: And circuit mode: In the back side there are skirts to catch potential escapees: Rendering of the model from the building instructions: See the brickshelf folder for "action shots" where series of pictures are taken in succession to show the functions: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=315097 The initial content below this line ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It has been a long time since I have presented a new MOC in here. I have been busy preparing for Klodsfest 2008 in Taastrup. Here is my contribution to the GBC-layout. (Those space ships are made by Sir Bugge from Classic Space forum - the red Z-fighter is new and contains some superb building- and SNOT techniques. The white tower is also a GBC module and the builder brought enough extra modules to complete a circuit) The big ring lifts the balls up and it's random whether they fall through the first or last hole. The first leads directly to the glass tower while the last guides the balls into the deer scarer (Shishi odoshi in Japanese). I don't have a video camera, but I was able to make this little movie using my regular camera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQ00fXpgQOs The module has a self-feeding mechanism so it can work alone and is remarkably reliable. Anyone who has seen my previous modules would be surprised. If the wheel gets blocked, the big PF motor will try to budge it free. It drops a ball now and then - that is my trademark

Only from their LEGO-clone sets. There are so many clones out there and that brand doesn't have that big a market share where I live.
-
When you say big pictures, are they then more than 800x600? That would be rude towards BrickShelf, but we will just have to await moderation to see... How could you forget to await moderation BerndDasBrot? That's a newbie's mistake.
-
Easy answer: Until I find better use of the bricks. Some creations are updated almost annually, others live only for a few days. My star destroyer has stayed unchanged for almost 5 years, and MOCs generally have a much longer lifespan than official models. Even Café Corner lived for less than a month on my shelf.
-
I don't know much about this copy brand, but that ship looks almost like something Playmobil would make. The price in LEGO for details like that would be... high - almost too high for a pirates fan to buy... almost :)

Hence: "It should be a hint what DS means in this subforum, but..."
-
So. Where does the DS go, and what about extra styluses and games? It should be a hint what DS means in this subforum, but I got a bit disappointed when seeing it on lugnet. DS*, DS, MF**, MF*** - imagine how much time would be saved if people were not too lazy to type out non-obvious/standard acronyms. Oh. And cool creation by the way. *tongue* *Nintendo DS **Millennium Falcon ***Minifig

This is exactly like I remember it from the movie *sweet* I have often said "This will (hopefully) be my final version", but there have always been something to improve. New bricks appear and you discover new techniques. It never ends! X-D
