Once Croatia is in the EU next year, ordering from other countries should get much easier I guess. ;)

Take the advantage and get the set!

Lego technic challenge 2012
Balrog replied to Ondra's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I thnk the description of the rules for this contest is very vague. I don't think the doors are nessecary, since they are not the chassis and they are definately not on the pics for the competition, but they are built with step 1 in the instructions. What about the orange panels on the sides? -
That's exactly what I mean. But already in this state, it makes a fantastic display.

Your MOC is really cool. I especially like how you did the chimney and gave the roof this viking style look, which I somehow associate to dwarves. Must be related to beards. What I don't really like is the brown ground in the foreground. The tiles look somewhat to organized. Having them placed more random with some studs inbetween might loosen it up a bit.

Same for me. I just tried the same here. And I had a old link to the hobbit page, which resultet in "Page not found".

I am not sure, if this has been mentionend before, but has anyone noticed, that the two lower steering liftarms work themselves out of the red pins with bushing? Not, that this is a real problem, but it is strange. Additionaly, I want to see, if I can reinforce the frame structure a bit more. When there is some pressure in the middle of the structure, the whole chassis tend to bend instead of compressing the springs. Next up: Attachments and RC via NXT.

Cost and Size of a Lego Minifigure Scale Earth
Balrog replied to drdesignz's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This is no moon! It is a Lego model! -
The Moc looks good. If you add a few flowers, you could say they are approaching Beorn's house. In my opinion, it doesn't resemble Mirkwood forest well. Mirkwood forest is a dark place, where all you can see is black.

Wow ... but why not build one really large yellow castle?
-
Wow. This is a awesome adaption of the original set. That looks totally ... wow! Great work. What you could add would be the field and campsite behind the left wall and of course more rock walls around it. But that's just a idea.

Sariel, as always your creation is simply stunning. And who doesn't love the hamster? :D -
Wow. That steering is awesome. Well done.

MOD Rebuild of 8858
Balrog replied to Balrog's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
My idea failed. I wanted to use a longer flex bar und connect it with one of those Technic Axle Joiner Perpendicular. But I have no flex bar in the right length. One stud too long or one stud too short :( Still, I am open for ideas. -
MOD Rebuild of 8858
Balrog replied to Balrog's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I could do that, but honestly I wanted to have it built the way I did years ago. That's the challenge currently. But just now I got an idea. Though it would be somewhat illegal :D -
Telescopic Handler MOC
Balrog replied to LegoGBC's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Before my dark ages, there was only the old technic stuff. Liftarms were just a good bit away. After I have returned, I for myself still am not comfortable with them. So for me, the next step is to get one or two of the larger models and build them to see, how the new style works and then experiment a lot. Further, the bigger models give a lot of pieces of course ;) -

Like I said ... who am I to judge it. Look at the thread I made and you'll see what I mean. -
Telescopic Handler MOC
Balrog replied to LegoGBC's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well, the functionality obviously is pretty good. Only thing lacking would be the design. But that's no offense and due to limitations of the collection. But who am I to say something like that ;) -
Somewhat like that. Though, I'd love a Khazad-Dum set with Balrog, Gandalf, and maybe some orcs and fellowship chars the most. A second option would be when the fight goes on on the flank of the mountain with only Gandalf, the Balrog and a beautifully designed brickbuilt mountain wall.
