Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
madoka replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Two years ago when I last counted, I had 353 of them. -
I'm pretty sure they are not official. Just look at their logo or some of their other designs: http://www.bancshop.com/ Then check out this link: http://natashaeng.blogspot.com/2008/01/banc.html

Found this t-shirt in Seoul, Korea. The brand is called Banc and it's fairly popular here. Most of Banc's designs use minifigs or bricks. When I saw this one, I knew I had to have it:

Yeah, all those pics are outdated. It takes a huge amount of time to update collection pics and I've been working round the clock to pay for my Lego addiction. One of these days, my son is going to be old enough to organize everything for me. Right now he is too busy coming up with wacky minifig combinations to be of much help.
-
I'm at about 4,000 SW minifigs and probably about $45-50K in sets.
-
Geez, you guys got off light. I'm probably around 300-400 rowboats due to my army building days.
-
I'm up to 24,000 minifigs with about 14,000 in castle. It's a sickness.
-
Pretty nice. Reminds me that I've been too focused on SW lately and Castle lately. Plus I was busy paying off a new car I got recently. But now you've inspired me to go get some more pirates.

Vintage Minifigure Collection includes a pirate!
madoka replied to General Armendariz's topic in LEGO Pirates
Bingo! No one would buy this set if it was made up of policemen, Timmy, and other such common, unpopular figures. The rare figures are being used to justify the high costs of the set. Cheesy (greedy) move by Lego. -
Agreed - it's a ripoff. They are charging about double the BP and there are NO licensing fees. They could argue that they won't sell as many, but if you put in popular figures (e.g. forestmen, Black Falcon, Imperial soldiers, etc.) and drop the price to $10 and people will buy in droves. I'd love if they'd do mini-fig sets with a classic theme. For example, a castle set with a peasant, BF, Crusader, and a Forestman would be awesome.

The little extra bits that come with the set, 2 of them are the rangefinders. Are the last 2 pod like things the helmet flashlights?

Vintage Minifigure Collection includes a pirate!

I wonder how the other pirates feel about him walking around the ship with no shirt and a pink vest. -
I found an old pic of some of mine:

Last I counted, I was at 55 complete red beards.

Monster amazon.com sale on Clone Wars, 10179, etc.
madoka replied to voltio's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
It was a glitch in Amazon's system. What happened was that you were supposed to get 25% off. However, their system gave 25% off, then gave ANOTHER 25% off that amount. So it came close to nearly 50% off, but not quite. The sale was limited to mostly SW, one Indy set and two Speed Racer sets. The glitch only lasted a short period of time. I bought 7 more Gunships, so now I'm up to 10 of the CW variety. -
I have: - 450 speederbikes or thereabouts from Endor - 235 bikes from the Clone BP

Some of you guys seem to miss the point of the SW BPs. They don't have any commanders or other somewhat unique figs, because they are designed to be generic army builders. I've bought several hundred BPs now, but if they were to start including Gree or other commander, I would be less inclined to buy multiples as I don't want 500 Grees.

My annual Lego budget is about $10,000-$15,000 and I've been collecting since 1995. Do the math and my estimate is actually very conservative. I don't sell on BL as I found I spent more time doing it than it was worth to me (e.g. packing and mailing a $5 order meant that I spent about $100 in my billable time to fulfill). I'm not a pro builder. In fact, I wish I had more time to even take pictures of what I have. So unfortunately, all I am at present is an obsessive compulsive collector. I also have several thousand Star Wars action figures. So Lego + action figures means my son is really happy:
-
My best estimate is probably around $150,000. :'-(

I once missed a complete and excellent condition Yellow Castle for $15 by about 6 hours at the Salvation Army Thrift store. I'm still haunted by that loss. :'-(

Yeah, I've come to that realization. I've got a collection with over 20,000 minifigs now and I realize that I could have gotten a cheap condo or a Ferrari with the kind of money I've put into Lego. I've got some $10,000 in horse barding alone! At one point, if you added up all the horse barding available on Bricklink from every store, I had about 8 times that number. But once I hit 1,000 stormtroopers, I started wondering when I would ever use that many, so I've actually found myself cutting back. So far I've only bought about 70 of the Stormtrooper BP. Then I look at the realities of my addiction. I've filled up my house, garage and four storage rooms filled with Lego. It's a sickness I tell you!

I've often dreamed that Lego would put out a product like this so I could feel okay about throwing away all my empty boxes. The great flaw with this book, however, is that it doesn't seem to include the pictures of the alternate models on the back on the box. I guess my boxes will have to stay with me forever. :'-(

Since you guys not in the US now have warning, why not hook up with someone in the US to get the set? I'm planning on getting additional BM accounts now myself and wouldn't mind applying for extra ones for EB members.

$13 for 5 minifigs makes no sense. The Tic-Tac-Toe set had 10 armored and equipped figs for $15. I fully expected $10 for the Castle BP, given licensed SW ones run 4 figs and pieces for $10. $13 is a rip-off in comparison.
