  1. I never understood it myself as it should be price more like $20. We all know that within a couple months after Christmas it will be discounted at least 50% off the retail price like every other advent calendar before it. At $30, you are dangerously close to the community workers set which has 20 more minifigs for $12 more.
  2. And yet, I can't get enough of lining up hundreds of the same minifigs for a uniformed look. Different strokes for different folks! X-D
  3. Great work! Only one correction though. It was much EASIER to army build the Imperial Guard, mostly because of the awesome bounty boat set. $5 got you two Guards and a pirate. Hence, I've got 226 Imperial Soldiers, while I've got 405 Imperial Guard.
  4. I bought 1,000 Star Wars short blasters just now. I hate arming my stormies with the long blasters.
  5. Because if you are busy working, then it's hard to find the time to build. I don't even have the time to line up my minifigs, let alone build. I like that the guy found the time to build all those sets and envy all the space he is able to dedicate to his hobby.
  6. 50 Stormtrooper dropships. I've sorted through 35 of them now. I've slowed down my purchases as I wonder what I'm ever going to do with 1,000 stormtroopers and why I'd want any more.
  7. Actually, I had a friend who was in charge of DVD production at Fox. She told me that they sent officials on a near monthly basis to beg him to release SW on DVD. He kept refusing because he was waiting for the installed DVD user base to be big enough for large profits. He had nothing against the technology, he is just a businessman first. Watch the Phantom Menance DVD. Lucas got $2 BILLION from JUST Pepsi for endorsement rights to it, yet he kept insisting that they keep movie costs under $100 million. That's not an artist speaking, that is a businessman. Edit for typo.
  8. To be brutually straightforward, Lego is not for the poor. It's a higher end toy, so unfortunately we have to pay for this privilege. But it's not like Lego is a necessity in life either. Well, for most of us anyways. :-P
  9. I'll take everything you have. Please send info. Your PM is blocked.
  10. How much for all 120?
  11. How many do you have available?
  12. Yeah, I agree. The TTT set was a much better value for army builders. 10 figures for $15, so $1.50 for each armored minifig.
  13. I prefer the Stormtrooper/Clone Trooper short blasters, so I want to trade my long blasters for the smaller ones on a 1:1 basis. Seems the short blaster goes for about $0.75 in quantity on BL and the long blasters go for about $1, so I hope someone wants to trade. I only want to do trades of at least 25-250 blasters at a time.
  14. Nope, limit 2 per customer. Though the 2 I got brings my total to 17. X-D
  15. I'm up to about 230 Clone and 115 Droid BPs. I'll probably stop around 250 Clone. I just got my first 10 Stormtrooper BPs and that's where my money is going towards from now on.
  16. I picked up about 30 of these today. My suspicions were correct. This is the most popular one and the others weren't moving at all. (Note: I did not see the wizard set. I don't think it's been released yet.)
  17. Just to let you guys know, the Lego stores in my area did indeed get more. They had some 40-50 Hoth Bases when I went today.
  18. I bought about 100 of the droid BPs. I may have bought more, but I was upset with how fragile the Super Battle Droid's legs were. It is made from a really brittle plastic and I broke about 10 of them just putting the legs on.
  19. Two other sets came in today: - Skeleton's Tower for $20.14 - Clone Trooper BP for $4.03 Now if the rest of this order ships (30 Final Jousts for $26 total), I'll seriously be in Lego Nirvana.
  20. I don't think any teenagers would have 21,000+ minifigs. ;-) I wasn't aware of any picture requests. Here's a boring quickie since they are just in bags, but I wanted to show that I do open my stuff:
  21. 1. Like everyone else, I work to pay for my Lego. 2. I've opened every one of them. I'll probably take pics once the set is discountinued and my clone trooper population stabilizes.
  22. Although I have managed to buy 211 copies of this set so far, the clone trooper BP has been a pain to get in quantity for me. With almost any other Lego set, I could just place one large order and be done with it. With this BP, I have to buy it every chance I get, usually 2-10 at a time. I tried placing an order once for 500 copies and got denied. With the announcement of the Stormtrooper/Rebel BP, I'm planning on going ballistic with those sets and the clone BP is lower priority now. I place part of the blame on Lego. They ship 3 clone and 3 droid BPs in each case. Eventually stores are littered with Droid sets, but have none of the more popular Clone set. Once shelves are full of the Droid sets, stores do not reorder. Look at the Amazon example. You can order as many of the droid BPs as you want, but they are currently out of the clone (which they even limited to 1 per person). Amazon will not reorder the clone sets, until they run low on the droid ones which sometimes takes weeks. This encourages opportunists to jack up the price.
  23. Received my 5 Imperial Landing Craft at a whopping $4.75 each! Also picked up another 57 Clone Trooper BPs. The Emperor will be pleased this week.
  24. Seems everyone scratches off only 10%. My cashier was so sure of it that she punched in the 10% discount automatically without giving me the card. When I asked about it, she only grudgingly gave me a card and sure enough, another 10%.
  25. I talked to the manager of the Ontario Lego Store. Although he sold out of his stock this morning (some 40 sets), he assured me that they would definitely get more after Christmas. I wonder if it is really discountinued.
