Taking advantage of some recent sales: 1 x Republic Frigate 1 x Millennium Falcon 1 x Anakin's & Sebulba's Podracers 1 x Sith Nightspeeder 50 x Snowtrooper Battle Packs

That list is HORRIBLE - it's got to be some sort of joke. I own 63 copies of Vladek's Castle because it went on clearance. There was a reason why it went on clearance. Night Lord's Castle?!?!?! Hemlock Stronghold?!?!?! Firebreathing Fortress?!?!?! King Leo's Castle?!?!?! Wolfpack Tower!?!?!? Outside of Wolfpack Tower, these were some of the worst abominations that Lego ever produced.

What's the best way to store minfigures?
madoka replied to ziljin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Plastic cases are fine if you are talking tens or even hundreds of minifigs. Once you get to thousands or tens of thousands, I find that the best/most versatile is bags. Also, you don't need to individually bag each figure. I've kept my collection in bags for years and never noticed the minifigs damaging each other in the bag. -
I own SEVERAL HUNDRED ships . . . if you count rowboats.

Well, we are getting new floors put into our new house this month, so for the first time in several years, I'll have enough floor space for displays. If the Historic Theme mods would let me have my own thread where I can reserve the first 4-5 posts, I'll start putting up pics as I take them. It does take quite a while to arm and arrange thousands of minifigs. I'm in the process of training child labor for this task though. But I have to figure out what to bribe my kids with . :)

Saw that the Dragons were outnumbering Lions, so I added around 600 more Lion Knights and 200 more Dragon Knights.

LOL! I didn't mean for what I wrote to sound cool. I meant it as a warning! As in, "don't let this happen to you!" A few years of collecting at that pace and you'll experience what happened to me. Your house will be so full of Lego that you can't invite anyone over. Then you realize that you don't want anybody to see how far you've let yourself go, so you won't get even help for home repairs. It's like living a bad episode of Hoarders. Strangely enough I like the fact that I only have to pay for garbage pickup from one house. That saves me about $30 per month. Otherwise, I have to pay double the electricity, gas, water, HOA fees, cable, internet, and phone :(

I ended up buying the house next to mine so I have a Lego-free place to live out of. Had a heck of a time explaining to the bank why I needed two houses next to each other without resorting to revealing my Lego addiction.

My copy gets delivered tomorrow. Would be interesting to see what percentage of minifigs I own compared to what is available.

Two of the world’s most iconic brands are joining forces as The LEGO Group, world leader in high quality construction toys, and Marvel Entertainment, LLC, a global character -based entertainment company, announced a wide ranging strategic licensing deal. Through the multi-year agreement starting as of January 1st, 2012, Marvel has granted LEGO Group the rights to develop a distinct Marvel branded construction toy collection — LEGO SUPER HEROES — which will bring the characters, vehicles and action of Marvel’s renowned universe to the world of LEGO® build-and-play adventure. The LEGO SUPER HEROES Marvel collection’s initial construction sets, minifigures and buildable characters are scheduled to launch in May of 2012. The LEGO SUPER HEROES Marvel collection will spotlight three Marvel franchises – Marvel’s The Avengers movie, and X-Men and Spider-Man classic characters. The LEGO Marvel’s The Avengers movie line brings such ever popular Marvel characters as Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Loki and Black Widow to LEGO minifigure form. The LEGO X-Men collection includes minifigure comic versions of Wolverine, Magneto, Nick Fury and Deadpool, while the LEGO Spider-Man sets offer minifigure comic versions of Spider-Man, and Doctor Octopus. The first buildable characters in the LEGO SUPER HEROES collection are highlighted by Captain America, The Hulk and Iron Man. Select figures will be unveiled in the LEGO booth (#2829) during Comic-Con International at the San Diego Convention Center July 21-24. “Our partnership with Marvel helps us continue to deliver some of the best and most constructible Super Hero stories of all time,” said Jill Wilfert, vice president, licensing and entertainment for The LEGO Group. “We’re thrilled to partner with Marvel to create creative, constructive play sets for builders, fans and collectors alike.” Joann Mclaughlin, Executive Vice President Toys & Hardlines, Marvel Entertainment, commented, “The partnership with LEGO Group furthers Marvel’s strategy to align our brand with the best in class leaders across various industries who have the global marketing expertise and distribution clout to stand out in the retail environment. This deal solidifies the already robust presence of our characters and the overall Marvel brand in the ever important toy category.” The retail debut of the Marvel-inspired LEGO SUPER HEROES collection is timed to coincide with the highly anticipated Summer 2012 blockbuster movie release of Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures feature film Marvel’s The Avengers.

The topic came up in another thread, so I started wondering how many factions people have in their kingdoms.

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118040143?categoryid=13&cs=1&cmpid=RSS%7CNews%7CLatestNews Warner Bros. has expanded its relationship with Lego, granting the toymaker access to DC Entertainment's complete library of comicbook characters and stories to launch DC Universe "Super Heroes" as figures and playsets. The multi-year licensing deal, made through Warner Bros. Consumer Products, will start rolling out the new line in January, starting with 13 characters, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and villains the Joker, Bane, Harley Quinn and Lex Luthor. The first toys will be shown off at the Lego booth at Comic-Con Intl. in San Diego, where 3,000 exclusive Batman and Green Lantern minifigures will be distributed to launch a promo that runs August-December, enabling fans to create and submit videos, photos or illustrations of the characters to win trips to Legoland and Warner Bros. Studios. WB and Lego had already been producing toys and videogames around the Batman franchise, and will launch a new set of playthings around next summer's "The Dark Knight Rises" through the Lego Batman collection. The "Lego Batman: The Videogame," published by WB Bros. Interactive Entertainment, has sold more than 12 million units since 2008."This partnership gives builders a chance to recreate the characters, vehicles and worlds of some of the most iconic super heroes, so they can relive the action and even customize it, a proven and winning formula in Lego construction," said Jill Wilfert, VP, licensing and entertainment for the Lego Group. I don't like putting swords in the bags as they poke and fall off anyways. Swords are therefore counted out and put into separate bags for each army. That's a pic of my spare helmets (about 20,000 of them). I like to be prepared, so I have thousands of extra helmets, shields, armor, and swords in each I need to fit or refit an army.

Got some more helmets and added them to the stash:

Not with Castle right now. I was trying to ramp up the Dragon Knights since the Lion Knights went to over 1,200 minifigs. But then I decided to split up the Lions into two different factions.

How long do clearance sets stay available?
madoka replied to tafkatb's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Yeah, PoP is a poor seller. I bought large quantities last year at 50% off from Disney.com. I think I still have yet to open a couple hundred of those sets. When they are getting blown out like that, while relatively new, then you know you should be able to find them for a while. -
Has anyone bought the Lego S@H PAB Horse?
madoka replied to ziljin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Actually, I have approximately 900 pieces of barding, which used up a good chunk of the normal horses I have so I need to repopulate the herds. -
Add some more Dragon Knights, so now I'm a little over 600 of them. Bad iphone pic:

Has anyone bought the Lego S@H PAB Horse?
madoka replied to ziljin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yeah, I know it's a pipe dream but it sure would be nice. For example, I want to buy 1,000 horses. In order to maximize the freebies, I've been forced to place several orders of 101 horses every few days. If I tried to do them all at once, then my credit card fraud alert comes on and the card gets blocked. -

While the horse was in the inventory at the time, it was marked as unavailable until after the ARF promo was over. Same with the tommy gun. Also, technically I've noticed that you can't really get limited time promos with PAB orders. I've been burned before on this issue. By the time the PAB is packed, they will have run out of the limited time promo. Though with the ARF promo, Lego did try to make amends by offering your choice of other figures. -

1. I feel super lucky that they made cheap horses. Hopefully they'll have other colors in the future. 2. I feel super sad that they did not have the horses available during the Shadow ARF promotion. 3. I feel somewhat annoyed that I have to place so many multiple orders to get the free Castle figs. They should make it so that you get a free fig for every $75 you spend. That would save me the hassle of placing order after order and it would save them on shipping separate packages instead of one big one. -

They were amused but not very helpful. Plus I kept getting hit with credit card rejections that I'd have to call in and clear, because I was forced to buy only 2 carts at a time (that's all I could carry by myself). So the CC company saw multiple charges on my card for hundreds of dollars at a time over a short period of time and they freaked out. I once bought 63 copies of 8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress from a Target. Now those guys were super helpful. The manager assigned four employees to help me unbox the sets and pack them into my car. -
- 60 assorted battle packs (mostly Hoth ones) - 5 sets with the taun-taun - 5 sets with the wampa - 200 AT-ST drivers from BL

I made two trips that day. The first was in a Lexus IS-F and the second was in a Honda Odyssey. I ended up buying around 1,000 BPs that day. Unfortunately, I only took pics of the Lexus. By the time I was done with the Honda, I was just too tired to take more pics. I also nearly got pulled over while driving the Lexus. Oh man, you should have seen the cop's face when he saw what was in the car. He did this double-take and looked to see if he could pursue me, but there was traffic and I got the heck out of there. -
I have a fairly large collection (e.g. overflow parts go into 100 gallon containers, five separate storage rooms, etc.), so I had to go to a much more extreme solution. I bought a second house next door, so that I could have one house to live in and another for Lego. Hey, it works for me.
