  1. Lego stores have a mystery discount. When you purchase, then you scratch off a card to reveal 10%, 20%, or 50% off your total. Today only
  2. Amazon for a few hours had this ridiculous sale where if you purchased any Lego set, you got $250 off your order. So for example, if you were to order three $100 sets, you'd end up paying $50. Most people had their orders cancelled, but a couple of mine shipped. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Five Imperial Landing Craft for $25 (I went for overnight delivery) is going to be a pretty sweet Christmas.
  3. I'm praying for a BP of them. My army is looking pretty small compared to Phase II clones and Stormtroopers.
  4. For me, simply put, my other factions have grown in size so much that only having a few hundred Crown knights seems inadequate. Most recent factions (e.g. scorpions, KKII, etc.) have more than 1,000 figs, so only having a few hundred Crown soldiers seems small to me.
  5. I would say BL. Vikings are cheap. I have over 500 of them.
  6. Hey! My 400+ Redcoat army disagrees! Plus I found I have another 75 or so bounty boats sets unopened, so if any blue coat army gets close in size, I can instantly add another 150 more troops. *sweet*
  7. - 50 Crossbow Attacks - 25 Final Jousts - 10 Chess - 1 each of the other sets I suppose I'll be picking up another 150 Crossbows, 75 Jousts, and 50 TTTs when I done, but lately I've been concentrating on Space and SW.
  8. If this is true, why hasn't someone placed an order for shakos yet?
  9. Was that a shadow trooper? I thought it was a TIE pilot, which would make more sense.
  10. Even though it may cost 3 euros, but they look like the old $2 polybags Lego used to sell in supermarkets and toystores. I can't imagine them selling for more than $3 in the US. For example, at $6 in the US, you can get Crossbow Attack where you get two knights, a skeleton, and skeleton horse. Even at $3 for the impulse sets, that seems like a poor deal compared to Crossbow Attack. Anything higher than $3 would look like a ripoff. Therefore, I would guess it sells for $2-3 in the U.S.
  11. Holy crap! I just checked BL and see that I've spent over $5,000 on Lego in the past 3 weeks. As happy as I am to make EB #1, I think I need to slow down. :-(
  12. Anybody else see a bunch of auctions by a seller in Taiwan offering literally hundreds of Stormtroopers, Clone Troopers, and Snowtroopers in groups of 10-50? When I first saw them, I was naturally suspicous as collections are rarely that large, and I've never heard of a collector in Asia with those kinds of numbers. All his feedback were from single figures, but he claimed to have recently purchased a large collection. Now I've noticed all his auctions have been pulled. I hope no one got burned on these.
  13. To answer some of the questions in this thread: 1. Yes, I went Pirate complete a several years ago. That's about when I stopped actively collecting any Pirate. 2. I bought the vast majority as sets back in the mid-90s. I used to sell my spares before BL existed on RTL. I believe I was one of the first major online dealers at the time. Only Todd's Auczilla was bigger. 3. Yes, I have weapons for all the figs. I'm almost compulsive about it. However, it would take me double the time to display them all with their weapons, so I didn't. Really, I wanted to a do census of what I got so I'm currently concentrating on the collections that aren't actively growing right now. I'm working on Ninja and then I'll do Space afterwards. 4. I actually organize my castle forces much more. I don't have any plans on organizing Pirates, though I have hundreds of canons and horses I could use I suppose. 5. Yes, I've got well over 10,000 castle minifigs. Individual armies are now numbering in the thousands, so I don't know how I'm going to be able to take pics of that many. Castle is where the vast majority of my resources goes into. I've also got the largest Lego barding collection in the world. I'm around 1,000 pieces. Man, that took a long time and a scary amount of money to get that many bardings.
  14. Actually I've thought about this and in all seriousness, I do believe I am compensating for the fact that I only had ONE Lego set as a child. 8-( If I had the time and space, I'd take pics of my castle population, which is in excess of 10,000 minifigs. ;-)
  15. I haven't collected Pirates in years, but I finally got around to doing a census. I've got: - 159 Imperial Soldiers - 367 Imperial Guard - 53 Armada And of course they need Pirates and Islanders to fight, so: - 665 Pirates - 170 Islanders So my total loose population is 1414. I've got another 300-400 still in box.
  16. Actually she's quite common in comparison as she was in a mini-fig set (6251). I've got 46 of her, yet only 2 anchor tattoo guys Was there a variant with white hands? I'm looking at the set on Lugnut and I don't see it: http://guide.lugnet.com/set/?q=6281_1&v=z
  17. I was doing a census of my Pirate population and saw that there were two minifigs that were really scarce: 1. The Anchor Tattoo Man 2. Fluffy Shirt / Brown Vest Captain Which do you think is the rarest of them all? (Mods - if you could turn this into a poll, I would appreciate it.)

    Fake shakos

Sorry. I did a search and didn't find anything. 8-(
  19. They are now out there. Man, I would be ticked if I got one of those if I paid for real Lego. Yet I'm somewhat curious as to it's quality. Link to Ebay auction of set with shako Also black/gold imperial guard torsos: Link to Ebay auction Man, look at the gaps between the bricks! QC is seriously lacking. EDIT Bonaparte: Added picture of "Fake shako" and modified links.
  20. What is this Darth Vader Death Star Box that you're referring to?
  21. I dunno. I have three of them now and I obviously was not ripping boxes in stores or returning sets.
  22. This is just wishful thinking at best and delusional at worst. As long as Lego does not produce these gold droids in any other sets, the price on them is going to be outrageous.
  23. Thx. Just bought 8 and now I'm thinking I should have gotten more. . .
  24. Let me add some details now: You needed to win a raffle to even get the opportunity to buy this set for about $55 after tax. They are planning on selling 100 per day for five days. On this side of the set by the word exclusive seen in the picture is it's number. So for this particular example, it reads "Exclusive 107 of 500."
