  1. The Lego Discovery Centre shop at the Trafford Centre, Manchester, looks pretty good on the website . I intend to take the kids during the summer holidays .
  2. Ha ha, very amusing - I like the way Teabox also included the tree from the speeder bike set (and looks like a bit of Naboo swamp 'creeping' in on the right).
  3. Nice review Tilius. I keep seeing this on eBay and thinking "should I?", after reading this, I think, maybe I should. I particularly like the passion you show for this set: "It's beautiful. Seriously. You know with most sets, you glance at them and that's it? With this set, you look at it and get an inner feeling of 'that's awesome' every time. Perhaps that's just me. But it looks very, very impressive in the plastic." - It's almost poetic.
  4. Fine by me, looks like you had an awful lot of hard work sorting out all the entries. I really just wanted to get the display concept out-there, I had the idea months ago and this contest finally made me do something about it. Was a little gutted when I saw Brickfanatics entry (thought I had a really unique idea :-(). Still would love to see if it works, maybe one day I'll build it. Thanks for the nice comments on the speeder - I'm happy I got 3 points!
  5. Hi Superkalle, This is the first chance I've had to look at entries and I've noticed that my second entry: Theme: Other Designer: Praiter Yed EntryID: 230 Name: Minifig showcase is under the LDD & Real Bricks category when it should be in the LDD only category. I don't think this affects my chances but just thought I should mention it. Don't want to look like I'm cheating with two entries in same catagory . There's some really great creations here - 1st time I've seen some of them.
  6. I got 7195 Ambush in Cairo Indiana Jones set - one of the figs has a great Bail Organa face. It's a cheap set too if still avialable.
  7. In England we pronounce 'Jedi' as 'Jedi' - I would hazard a guess that he's from The Netherlands. Wow, I'm a little jealous. Do they have hot babes sprawled over Lego? Back on topic; Hot babes dressed as White Mandolorians.
  8. I didn't say I had 2, that was Didrik who also claimed to have made the clip. Maybe I want to build an army of White Mandolorians or maybe I just want to own loads to make a profit in future or maybe I just lied - have you never seen Spartacus?
  9. Damn! Was hoping these would REALLY drop in price on eBay with 30k out there. Still would hope to get one for less than they're selling for at the moment. Thanks for the pointer Brickdoctor will check that out when I get home (am on my hols so struggling to view some threads on phone). I take it you will be visiting the Star Wars Weekend at Legoland California?
  10. OK, so we know the white Boba Fett is based on concept art, and that it's some kind of (as yet undisclosed) promo. But, it says on this forum that over 30,000 are going to be distributed - so that's 3x easier to own than a chrome Vader. PS I made the clip!
  11. The figure with the B-Wing is Ten Numb. I thought TLG made a mistake with the name so being the nerd that I am, I looked it up... Ten Numb was a B-Wing pilot whereas Nien Numb flew the Falcon with Lando. Have to admit prior to the minifig, never heard of Ten Numb or Zev Senesca for that matter.
  12. Thanks for the great review and great photos inconspicuous. I'll probably not buy this (too many other sets to purchase) but really like the Cad Bane figure. Can anyone tell me why this is a "special edition" - is it the exclusivity to 'Target'? Also, if I remember correctly, in this episode Aurra Sing is sniping from opposite the senate building and not actually in the speeder - could explain why she's missing. Makes me think she'll appear in another set though (maybe a new CW version of Slave 1 :-)
  13. I have little interest in the prequel trilogy and even less interest in buying PT Lego - so the UCS Jedi starfighter is not for me. However, I love those Cubedudes! They've got bags of character and great packaging. I'm hoping we get more characters for a wider release sometime in the future - they'd look sweet displayed on my 'geek shelf'.
  14. Re: 10215 UCS Obi Wan's Jedi Starfighter - anyone think that the uk's getting a bum-deal here? Allegedly 95gbp compared to 100usd - is this how far TLG anticipate the UK economy will have sunk by 1st November?
  15. Ah, so you're that guy with the bricks.
  16. Thanks for the great review Jammiedodger714. I have been keen to get an AT-AT set for some time but was unsure whether to go for this or the motorised version. After your review I think I might make a trip to my local TRU to see if this is in stock. Must admit was expecting it to be around the £75 mark. Love Luke's helmet (that just sounds wrong!).
  17. Good call. There's some great customs of this about, but an official version would be cool - maybe we can expect one for the ROTJ anniversary? Also, how about Ewok Village Leia? Rather than getting annoyed at the new guy who accidentally may or may not have committed a forum faux pas, why not have a more constructive input and let us know which figures you think are missing?
  18. Ha ha - I never would have thought of that. It's amazing the lengths people will go to for a big box of Lego.
  19. Oh, well this is the first forum I've ever joined so I will try not to 'bump' any topics in future - thanks for the advice.
  20. Thanks, I wanted to do this when the thread started but due to my incredibly busy life it's taken me this long to get-round-to-it. Besides, is there a time limit on thinking of new minifigs? BTW how about a chrome dome R2-D2?
  21. How about a chrome gold C-3PO with a silver leg (ANH / ESB)? This could be a good way of bringing back the chrome gold C-3PO without upsetting the people who've paid top-price for the limited edition. Alternatively this could be a good custom for somebody who's got more money than sense! This visualisation found on the internet and photoshopped by me.
  22. I've just watched The Boat That Rocked on TV. It was awful.
  23. I've noticed a lot of new members entering this contest. I'd hazard a guess that, like myself, they've been tempted into joining by the lure of unlocking more bricks in LDD and such a great contest. Pity then, that many of us will not be allowed to vote . I'll be on holiday when voting kicks-off and seeing as I'm not allowed to vote anyway ! - I'm going to express some opinions; At this early stage I think we could possibly have a winner with Igorlando's The Anastasia Astoria International Hotel (Town). This is just amazing. In-fact, can he not be disqualified to give everyone else a chance? I also really like Johnnyiszippy3's Dinner (Town) and BoJan Pavsic's Circus (Other Themes). And because I'm a complete nerd when it comes to 70's sci-fi I'm loving Navegantes' Valley Forge from Silent Running (Sci-Fi) and Sparkarts' Maximillian from The Black Hole (Sci-Fi). There's just so many amazing entries, to coin a phrase my Dad used to use "I don't stand a cat in hell's chance!'. Come to think of it, the choice is soo difficult, I'm glad I can't vote!
  24. Thanks, will keep an eye out for that next year. Looks like a really beautiful display.
