  1. This picture although fabulous is from an article I think relating to the studio architecture of the lego company. Most , if not all of the models seen in it would be older tests and I would't go expecting any of them to be released. Firstly TLC guard there product designs very strictly and I can't see them accidently ending up in an online article related to business practice let alone letting someone walk around their main build space with a camera. This looks to be a showroom / workspace and I expect they have visitos all the time in there. My guess is that it is the graphic designers area. The yavin playset is an older model from some time ago and featured in one of the lego books from the last couple of years. Hope I haven't crashed any spirits as they are all good ideas for future sets...and god knows I've been wrong before.
  2. I absolutely love this MOC, the size of it is right up my alley and the details are at just the right ammount. I think the canopy idea will be taken away by me and used in something later on. I would love to see that astromech cover sliding and my mind is churning over as I type...
  3. I really didn't expect pictures so soon. What a fabulous sculpt I for one can't wait...
  4. I think Cavegod has it right with the Rancor design, as for how big well there is a lot of scope with the minifig scale to make it fit. I really can't see it being brick built as the larger things get TLG seem to break out into Toy mode which suits me as I have always been a fan of their later sculptors. I can imagine pillars under the palace set with a rocky wall behind them and a Rancor around the size of Jabbas Palace as it sits at the lower roof top dome. Any way it comes it's going to be a welcome and sought after set. I for one am eager to see the pics...
  5. I'm a little late in viewing this forum but this was a very nice surprise...
  6. I would love to see more pics as well, maybe some with a lower camera angle. I also think that your idea has a lot of merit so don't stop here. My design advice for advancing this model would be... Instead of just adding the thruster cones to the side panels, remove the two orange guys and build a housing on each side of what looks like the exit ramp and incorporate the thrusters into that. Engines are big and need to look like they work and have some power source behind them. Extra detail on the side panels in the form of extra thick armour where the troops are. I think thats an awesome gun in the centre so why not two and put them on each side. I can't see if you have landing gear but it would be nice.
  7. Just marvelous. A nice sized Moc for just the right ammount of detail. Cheers.
  8. I love this build, and thanks for the history lesson. These are the little morsels that keep me interesting at parties.
  9. Sandtrooper is one of the best real world designs along with its minifig counterpart.
  10. Although a lot of us may never build on this scale your model serves as an inspiration to both adult Moccers and to all of the younger builders who have the chance to see this. If I was a blogger then you would be blogged.

    Rancor

The character is based on a night sister from the game Empire at War. The new version is more traditional.

Just a quck update The LDD version is almost complete and I am in the process of finishing the lego model. So for know... 3D Rancor by Daiman Mardon, on Flickr
  14. Are they still arranged in the box the same way as previously ie all the same figure sequentially. I am a feely guy now and so only get around four or five repeats. A few series ago I discovered that if you find an unsealed box which is common here in Target stores then open it and take the first one from one side, then move forward three and take another and forward three and so on... I always ended up with the bulk selection and on my next visit did feely to get the rest.
  15. I love this build but I think the interior needs a little colour like brown or black dashboards and compartments. Nice one...
  16. A great job on this and the whole scene. I also appreciate the photography on this one.
  17. A tidy little build and full of action, perfect for the bookshelf.
  18. This thing is a massive ammount of great, though not movie accurate there is no mistaking the work that went into this one. I just love the chute and the feel that Luke is just about to fire on it. Absolutely well done.

Ha! thanks folks it's a shame that this one is in bits around my living area as I work on refining the LXF file. Not to worry it will live again and with new pics.
  20. What do you mean short, my viewing lasted over 10 minutes...nicely done.
  21. Nice going...I would love to see a wall or two on this and maybe more of the production line before this stage.

Thanks for the feedback folks and I am in agreement with those of you that commented on the legs. A little bit of a let down but I was excited to finish something and running out of Brown...again and couldnt wait another two weeks for bricklink. I am currently in redign mode for the whole lower half now that I have it out of my system. Thanks again.

So This has probably been seen by most of you... I hadn,t been so involved in Eurobricks much but frequent it often. This one was built over a couple of months mainly due to bricklink orders and family obligations. There is a tentative CUUSOO http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/15138 or search Daiman...I don't know if I get this yet. but I really think TLG would go for the solid model on this one and why not, they do a great job of them. It seems to me that there are some new builders at large within, along with some tried and true sculpters who are redefining the mantle they rest on. The new hero sets are much more robust with the extra use of plates and all of the new creatures from town to space have a lot of added ZING to them. Flickr is here http://www.flickr.com/photos/31210694@N06/ and MOC Pages is here http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/320554 Hope to see you there. D.
  24. Just starting out here really, thought I'd share my latest creation. Cheers.
