  1. Never heard of that... I have a DVD box which says on the cover "the complete series" but of course that makes no sense when the others were made afterwards. Must look it up somewhere.
  2. Thanks for all the compliments! As for the position in the forum: I thought I had put this in the MOC-pirates forum, apparently not, can somebody move it for me? When I have some more time I will make a clickable thumbnail with link, thanks for the explanation Mr. Phes. I intended to make the staircase "stone like", but your idea mr. ZCerberus is also very nice, it looks like the stairs in sets 6399 monorail, very sleek looking. However I don't have that many sloped bricks in white... Interesting thing while making the staircases was the amount of space needed for them inside the building, I never realised that since I never made so much stairs before...
  3. Yeah! That's the spirit! :'-)
  4. Hey guys, how do you like my newly build tower? It is the first building I have ever made that hinches open to reveal the inside. There are staircases to every floor, even to the basement. It's a pitty to see how white legos yellow when you own them a few decades, but maybe it adds to the ancient look of the building... enjoy, (Pictures are links) More (bigger) pictures in my Brickshelf Folder
  5. I bought it of the internet in Holland (Rotterdam) so I think it is from the BENELUX region BElgium NEtherlands LUXemburg.
  6. This poster was included in my 6280 Armada Flagship (which I bought for 10 euro's MISB two years ago :'-) ), it shows the same picture as the lego catalog from 1996 did, but it's nice to have that picture enlarged.
  7. I picked up the catalog yesterday, I live in Holland, and there are no aquaraiders in it. No problem for me as I wasn't planning on buying any aquaraider set anyway. The gas station and garbage/cementmixer truck are listed, so that's good news...
  8. I own Conquest of Paradise 1492, it is a movie about how Columbus discovered America, there are some nice ships in it, but not many. Nice music though, but much blood shed an cruelties so the film is not intended for young viewers.... If anybody'in this forum hasn't watched the Hornblower series (six dvd's) GO AND WATCH THEM THEY ARE FANTASTIC!!! :'-)
  9. Couldn't agree more, let's all boycot all the upcoming Harry Potter castles! I am going in the right direction since I don't own a single one :-D I'm in for some slaughtering (HP castles that is... X-D ) only joking...
  10. Impressive... very impressive indeed *wub*
  11. That sure is expensive! 8-o
  12. You can fit any beam you want into the sleeve, as long as it's long enough, it his however not much use putting a beam inside that is shorter than the sleeve itself, and I wonder if there are any beams in production that are longer than the one supplied. I don't think it is possible to put the beam in rotated, because the click-mechanism needs the holes of the beam to click on to, if you put the beam in this way I doubt it will get passed the click mechanism, but I have actually never tried this... Good luck!
  13. This new extending boompart is similar to the older version of this piece (used for example in set 6358). The hollow outer part houses a studless technic beam that can be clicked into position, it seems very hard to mechanize/motorize this movement, it just has to happen manually. The technic beam can be pulled out of the hollow beam entirely, the top of the boom holds the clicking system, this is also the only support the technic beam has. When retracted the back side of the beam leans down a bit, coming loose of the boom, this is not really meant to be... It's a really interesting piece, and a picture of it would explain probably more than this entire story.... I hope you find this explanation useful.
  14. This is the best new legoset I have bought for years! I really like the old classic design with the real doors in the garage (instead of some turning fence...) and the tree and flowers. If you compare the big truck to the firetruck with the boat from a few years ago you can see that the level of detail has gone from blocky and simple to nicer and more sophisticated. In the cabin, the fireman does'nt have to sit in the middle anymore and the blue windscreen/windows are back in the firesets. All those different dark bluish grey baseplates could have been nicer, but when you put the set on green baseplates and fill up the gap in front of the sliding door, it will soon change for the better. The only thing I don't like about this set is the nozzle and the way it is attached to the hose itself, you can just slide the yellow piece along the entire rope... WHY?? The older ones were so much better... :-( But still a great set, if you don't have it, get it!
  15. Nooo! Two sticker sheets! I got only one, that's more than enough for me.... X-D (I got two of the new UGLY attached nozzle pieces, but that's all)
  16. Hello World. I have posted a lot of pictures of the new firestation on brickshelf, enjoy! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=226933
  17. I bought this ship last year brand new in box for only 10 euro's! Somebody sold it on the internet for this amazing price. As pointed out by a lot of other members, over the years this topic covers :-$ , it is indeed to colorful, but it has some nice features. I made some alterations to it, like you can see here, http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=167383 taking out the green pieces (except for the back window) and adding some more red and some more armada soldiers. No pictures of the interior of the cabin are displayed mostly because there is none.... I give this ship a 5/5.
  18. I won't be buying it then I'm afraid, I was hoping it would have been made with the pieces of the 8824 Technic hovercraft from the nineties. :'-(
  19. Aren't all lego cars supposed to be brick-built? :-P
  20. Has anybody bought the new 7944 Hovercraft yet? If you did can you please tell me how the black base is constructed, is it one big piece or brick made? I saw the set in the toystore today and it looked like one piece... Thanks.
  21. That Mustang (first car) looks great, lots of chrome pieces in it and nice studless design like my avatar, if this car comes out it's a definate buy for me! *wub*
  22. I can't seem to find any lego related issues in this discussion, or was it intended to be just a way to ventilate opinions regarding the media in general? 8-
  23. I got the Space Police minifig as found in set 6986 Classic High tech goodguy warrior..... wow... Nice find this test *sweet*
  24. Beautifully designed! *wub* Cute little motorcycle.
  25. That bulldozer looks mindstorms-like, I fear it will be rather expensive to buy but ik looks good...
