  1. I've never lost a piece, but whenever I need a piece from one of my bins (I still haven't sorted them) I can never find it, but I'll find it when I don't need it. My proudest moment of finding an unexpected LEGO piece was a few years ago. I was walking back from a friend's house in the middle of the road. I looked to my left, just glancing at my mail box for no reason. Somehow, my gaze just went down and I saw a curious rock on the ground at the curb. I go over, and pick it up. Lo and behold, it is no pebble, but a Bionicle Krana (or Krana-Kal, I still haven't figured it out). I never owned that piece, and I never took my Bionicles outside, and it had been a few years since the Bohrok were released. I never cleaned it, I thought it looked cool with the dirt on it, or it may not have been dirt, I never was sure. I also found a minfigure at my old school once. It was a Classic Pirate Redcoat (who for some reason decided to sport a Knight helmet). I didn't find it, my classmate who did gave it to me after I nearly bored him to death with talking about CP sets.
  2. I see a return after POTC, maybe not for a year or two, but maybe five. Keep in mind, not many FOL (at least the ones I have met) have a long memory of sets. They generally only remember one set or two from one theme or sub-theme each year they followed the brand. There are others, such as us here on EB, that have a long memory, or they would actively research older sets, to get ones they were to young for, when they were in their dark ages, or even not having been born yet to experience the joy of Set X or Set Y or Set Z. Now licensed themes are slightly different. Usually, that's only because TLG may make memorable scenes into sets. So, if somebody asks, "Did they make a Black Pearl?" the answer will most likely be a "Yes." Memory sometimes doesn't even relate to licensed themes. But memorable sets are supposed to. Granted, there are many evergreen themes that have memorable sets (Classic Pirates being the example here), but do most people think of them, not usually. So, I do see a return after POTC, not right away, especially if they decide to make a POTC5, but at least sometime in the future.
  3. I uploaded the current .lxf file to BS, so when it is moderated, it should be able to be downloaded.
  4. Two decks, and if I may ask, why would I put the cabin lower? I was looking at Kurigan's plans from Master and Commander, and the ship I am sort of going with is like this. For spacing, I put three for reasons of cannon amount, and because I think that if I put four, I would have to make the ship larger, i.e. pulling off pre-fab hulls and making it brickbuilt. Also, it saves me some money
  5. Well it has been nearly two months since I've worked on this ship, and I'm glad to say I'm going to continue work on it. I made the curve in the gunport line, as others have suggested, and I'm quite pleased. I only have one picture update, as I would like o see what people think before I add more on to the ship. If you can't tell the curve, it goes three ports (at the original height), down one plate for two ports, down one more plate for three ports, up one plate for three ports, and up one more plate back at the original height for two ports. Thanks for looking!
  6. This looks interesting, lightningtiger. I agree with others, the outside is slightly bland, but I'm sure it will look loads better with everything else you plan to add. How do you plan on putting everything else in though? Just curious.
  7. Nice ones everyone! JimButcher, yours were hysterical. I don't think I'll be able to watch POTC or Temple of Doom the same way ever again.
  8. Really funny ones, guys. Jedd, that just works perfectly. And Praiter, really good Photoshop! I couldn't even tell the speeder in front was put in!

Thanks for the comments everybody! I really tried to make these as realistic as possible, so all of your comments saying they are are very uplifting. Currently, I'm working on a newsdesk and possibly some pedestals or tripods. I was going to build a truck, but I don't have enough uniform pieces (or maybe I do) or the ability to design vehicles as well. The whole "kid putting a plate, four wheels, some sides, and a steering wheel thing" never really left me.

It's been awhile since I've posted, as I have been bogged down with a great many things, but I always checked the frontpage everyday, and I finally was able to upload some pictures for two small MOCs I made a few weeks ago. As a fan of film production, I always liked the Studios sets, and I decided to bring some of that for the town. I built a Jib arm, based off of one that I have worked with, although not quite to scale, and I also built a Steadicam. I haven't made a TV broadcast station yet, but I would like to some point in the future. Anyway, here are the pics! Both together: The jib arm and operator. It is fully posable. Johnny Thunder is back in the movie business! The Steadicam and operator: What do you guys think? And thanks for looking!
  11. Thanks for letting me play! I'm still mad I died early on But, Hinckley,I'm just slightly confused on what you mean by my analysis. Great job by everyone!
  12. Blacktron? I actually never thought of that, but I do like that thought, Solcud007. And if I was going to enter it, do I need to make a new post in Watto's Junkyard, or would a mod (most likely KimT) move it?
  13. I originally made this for the contest, but when I finished, I thought that a mod wouldn't do to well in a contest, or it would be disqualified.
  14. Thanks. Yeah, it was slightly rushed as I built it within one night and the robot arm was all I could find, so I was a little bummed. Thanks so!
  15. That's really good looking. All of the foliage is a really nice touch. One question: How did you make it so the door opens when you pull on the lever? I notice it opens up. Do you have Technic bricks hidden down there, or a rubber band or something of the like?
  16. For some reason, I've always like the speederbike in set 8084, but never had a desire to pick up the set. So I just sat down and built my own copy, but came up with a better idea: a Sith Speederbike with some attachments. You can tell I like my speederbike with some more weaponry. I couldn't find my Episode III Anakin torso for the Sith so this will have to do. It has a holster for a lightsaber on both sides of the controls. (I also seem to not own any black alien arms, so ignore that ) The back: And it comes with a "carseat" to hold the little Force-sensitive children he can spirit away to train. He looks like a happy kid... Besides the arms, I happy with how the MOD came out. What do you guys think?
  17. I'm glad I inspired someone! (Oky) Great one, Praiter! I think it may have been better if Luke and Leia were holding hands though. I remember a news story from a few years ago where these twins were about to be married but found out they were separated at birth... I think we're all glad Lucas didn't have that in the canon.
  18. I for one am at a loss. I just want to fix things with my husband, but the town comes first right now. I'm working on my suspicions, but I'm not entirely sure. I say wait until more speak up, but not make a hasty vote. We need to analyze everything everyone says, the mayor and us citizens.
  19. That's really cool, Hollander. Does it have an interior? And I can easily see that transporting clones across the galaxy, and the Photoshopping looks great.
  20. Well, I think maybe more colors and pieces would be nice to use, but the colors have to be reasonable, as in no trans-clear tires and such. I'm fine with just about anything on the list. An idea a community build for new LDD users, which could, while a small community build, would give builders experience in designing in LDD.
  21. Now I think we are playing into the Mafia's hands. We're all worrying, and by doing that, we won't get anything accomplished. We have to realize there is a set amount of Mafia, unless the Mayor is Scum and decides to allow people to settle here. (I like our town how it is, without the bad scum, that is) I see there is one, two, three, 13 of us- wait, 16, sorry, I'm not good at math. That means there is... well, who knows how many scum? If anything, we need to start weeding them out.
  22. That's a nice hockey rink. I'm a big fan of hockey, and that's a sport you rarely see MOCs of, so it's cool to see somebody glorify hockey in LEGO form. are you going to put other stickers on to make different teams? Definitely add a TV crew and medics, and if anything, a Zamboni. No hockey rink is complete without the Zamboni. Great job so far!
  23. For some odd reason, my white bricks never crack, only turn that yellow-ish color, but my minifigures always do, especially Licensed Theme figs Although some of my slopes do crack like that, and I just deal with it. Could possibly a thin amount of Scultpy fix it?
  24. I got my brick three days ago. Thank you so much! I was wondering when it was going to come in, and when I received it, I didn't connect the envelope with the brick and I thought "oh, great, a stalker" and then "Oh no, anthrax!" I'd love to participate in the next one. Great job on organizing this.
  25. That's a very cook wagon, Haltiamieli. i made a wagon awhile back, and it looks nowhere near as good as yours. The color scheme is cute, I think. And question, how heavy is it? I know it is an odd one, but those axles with the wooden wheels always seem a little dinky to hold up wagons, to me.
